Used my friends and I love it
Its creamy
doesnt require a sharperner
and is the Blackest Black
and i dont know what other people are talking about but it did NOT fade or anything
Love it
i'm picking one up too
I wore this out clubbing, and even after sweating and dancing It did not fade.
I purchased this in Sephora and told the SA I wanted an eyeliner for my waterline that didn't fade or smear. She suggested Nars. I love their eyeshadows and eyeshadow primer. THIS IS A LOSER! Put it on my waterline and within an hour it faded. Applied again same thing. So disappointed in this eyeliner I returned it.
UPDATE: It's worse now. It's almost as if the composition of my pencil has changed. One of the pluses I mentioned, that it glided on, isn't true anymore because it's... well, chunky. It's almost like it melted and dried out at the same time, though my bathroom is temperature controlled. This last time (I think this will be the final time) I used it, it literally took an hour to get right! What a huge mess. It would leave clumps on my lashline and eyelashes. When I thought it finally looked okay, I'd try to get the clumps of eyeliner out of my lashes and ruin my work again because it would all smear like crazy. Midway through, I gave up and tried to get it all off. As I stated before though, it won't be removed. Throughout the ordeal, I went through about 50 q-tips and a bottle of eye makeup remover. Understandably, I stopped when it looked halfway decent. By the time I had finished, I was 5 eyelashes down and my eye area was red from being pulled and irritated so much. My throat was also hoarse from screaming in frustration... no joke. How something can be so permanent yet smear so much is beyond me.

I have a love-hate relationship with this. I got my makeup done at a NARS event and the saleslady kind of pushed me into buying it. My eyes did look great, so I caved. She did a super-smoky thing and outlined my whole eye, including the waterline.
9 days later after constantly battling my eyes with Q-tips, Bi-Facil, Clinique's makeup remover, and Vaseline (actually the best) and conceding several of my long thick eyelashes in the process, RESIDUE STILL REMAINED ON MY EYES. Mainly between my eyelashes. I've never had a problem with any lack of staying power with eyeliner with the exception of some cheap Rimmel thing I bought as a kid. I don't need waterproof eye makeup. In undergrad I used to go out and party at night and then leave my (always non-waterproof) eyeliner on for the daytime (awful, I know) and it looked great. So "12-hour wear" doesn't really mean anything to me- that's just what eye makeup should do while being easily removeable. For the record, I usually use the Clinique eyeshadow trios or Lancome/Lauder pencils. This NARS pencil is in its own game and I still hate that it lacks the requisite "removeable" part. I tentatively used it again after my first experience, even though I swore I was going to put it right in the trash. I've found that makeup remover never stands a chance against this, but the way I applied it for time #2, it eventually came off completely after 3 days. Pros: It actually does go on well, though sometimes I get those stupid flakes I hate. I'd never messed with my waterline before, but it does look cool. I like the way it looks and that I don't have to scratch my eyes out with some obnoxious pencil. The main problem I had with it was my eyelashes falling out from the struggle of getting it off. When I want to use it now, I just have to be as sparing as possible and expect it to stick around for a couple of days.
Love this eyeliner, definitely will be a staple!! Was so excited when I found this. Once set it doesn't budge at all. I've tried so so many eyeliners that tend to smudge but this one I can confidently put on my waterline without worrying about panda eyes. Love the wind up/down as never can be bothered sharpening pencils. Haven't got around to using the sharpener on the end yet though! Love it and totally recommend, lots of product in it as well compared to the urban decay eyeliner that ran out so quick!
Oh wow. I don't know why this e/l hasn't gotten more attention! I have the oiliest lids..I mean even with Nars Primer my eyeliner always creases and smudges and gets in the corner of my eyes. I was using MAC smolder eye kohl but knew there had to be something better. THIS IS IT!! (yes, I'm screaming..I apologize but this is the best e/l I've ever used). It is so black which I love and so creamy which is a must for me. And yet, as creamy as it is..it doesn't budge! I'm in shock still..I didn't think this was possible. The only drawback is that I'm really not feeling the packaging. While I do like that it's twist-up, I really do not get the whole sharpener thing on the end. I've tried it and, maybe I'm dumb, but I just couldn't get it to work. It's frustrating, but you can still use it without sharpening you just won't get as precise a line. I'm going to keep playing around with it, but it is really annoying I don't mind sharpening pencils the old fashioned way personally. Anyways, if I didn't repurchase this would be the reason, but the fact that I found an e/l that is so black, so creamy, and doesn't smear/smudge..I believe I will repurchase.
I've tried a lot, I mean A LOT, of eyeliners in search of the perfect one, and I have finally found it in NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner - Via Veneto. A GOOD black eyeliner is a MUST in every makeup collection whether you're new to makeup or a professional. I used Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil in Zero then Perversion (when that was released) for quite a while. I loved how dark the color was, but it always seemed to smudge on the outer corner of my eyes and I'd end up with raccoon eyes before my day was over. With NARS, this eyeliner goes on beautifully and stays put all day. If you're a fan of smudging, I would say to give Urban Decay 24/7 pencils a try first since NARS is meant for more of a clean line. I love that it's a twist up as well. I saw that some people feel as though they aren't getting as much product because it's a twist up, but I'd have to disagree. With good brand name eyeliners (like Urban Decay and M.U.F.E) you have to constantly sharpen them which results in much more of product loss. I have a friend who says she has to constantly sharpen the NARS eyeliner as well, but I find that I really don't have to. I don't need a thin point and I actually like a thicker line. I have yet to find an eyeliner with the staying power of NARS. I just wish more people knew about it. Then again, I enjoy keeping the secret to myself!

I paid the price for these liners in black, brown, and gray, because in the store I put them on the back of my hand and then rubbed over and the liner STAYED PUT with NO SMEARING.
I used it to tighline on the upper lashline (with the gray on the outer 1/3 of the lower lashline-subtle for daytime work). It looked WONDERFUL, so sexy and made me look younger and eyes so good! You HAVE to try tightlining!!!
I admit, I did have a little problem getting a dark line and had to go back and forth a little, so maybe I'll try putting my palm over it or blwing some hot air from a blowdryer on it before using to soften it a bit. I think it's a good trade-off for the lasting power, though.
But it STAYS ALL DAY! Even when my eyes watered from allergies.
I'll definitely use this on those humid 100+ degree hot Texas summer days.

This liner lasts until you take it off. Although if you like the smudged out look that may not be good for you.
I however love this liner, I had been using a cheap liner for a long time but I don't think I'll ever go back.
I've had the same liner for about a year (I think) and there is still a ton left in the tube.
I am a NARS lover... But I am incredibly angry with this purchase and the performance of this liner.
I waited for two shipments to come in to my store before I was finally able to purchase this color. i am so very, very.... very disappointed! this liner dried out on me in a matter of uses ... 2 to be exact. The color payoff is HORRIBLE!! It hurts to even try to put it on, in fact, can't even get it to mark on my hand.
I also bought this in Abbey Road and love it so it just could be this color... Or maybe my bad luck!
I had high hopes for this pencil as I was looking for a deep black eyeliner that wouldn't smudge. I had already purchased NARS' Larger than Life eyeliner pencils in other colors, and had good success with them in terms of their color payoff and longevity, so expected the same of Via Veneto. However, Via Veneto smudges horribly on me, which is unfortunate as the colors Madison Ave. (gray) and Via Appia (brown) from the same line do not. It's too bad that Via Veneto doesn't have the same smudge-free qualities that other colors in NARS Larger than Life eyeliner line have. Wouldn't repurchase, and in fact, returned the pencil back to Sephora as the raccoon eyes left from Via Veneto were too pronounced for me to keep this pencil.
