I was rather excited to receive this free sample tube w/ my purchase of another SS (Bioderma) on Amazon. I will post the ingredients from Tubotica.com since my tube has no ingredient list on it.

I'm on the hunt for a hi ppd/hi spf non-avobenzone facial SS ever since my beloved Avene Emulsion spf 50 had its formula changed to include avobenzone (idiots!) Anyway - I have no way to calculate the PPD since I can't find the % of the active ingredients anywhere - perhaps someone else can eventually assist w/ that.

This stuff is $$$ = $30+ on Amazon for a 50 ml tube (my Avene is $$ too - why can't there be an inexpensive, avo free, elegant finish, hi ppd/hi spf SS on the market?)

It comes out of the tube an off white cream, slightly thicker (think Stoney Organics regular yogurt or Yoplait yogurt = not as runny as some of the light yogurts but definitely not as thick as greek yogurt) than my Avene Emulsion. It blends nicely into my skin. It dries a bit more shiney than my Avene, but a light dusting of powder will take care of that.

I only had a sample tube, so I got several applications out of it - no breakouts, no darkening of my skin (either due to tanning from sun or my melasma worsening). Also, it did not exacerbate my mild (subtype I) rosacea.

Here is the deal breaker and why I won't purchase = it feels kind of grainy going on which irritates my skin in that it is rather uncomfortable to apply - WTH? it is the weirdest thing - my tube doesn't expire until 02/15 so its not like its spoiled or anything. I tried rubbing lightly and everything = nope - the feeling irritated me - I see no reason to have to be uncomfortable in applying a product every day.

If you are on the same hunt as I and your skin isn't very sensitive to texture = you might want to consider this. As for me, the hunt goes on....I may just end up sucking it up and purchasing the $$$ Ducray Melascreen...
