I totally disagree with the reviewer below and apparently so do MANY others since on Amazon it's a 5-star product (16 reviews) and on Dermstore it's also rated 5-stars (33 reviews). This is a great sunscreen. It's the consistency of watery aloe vera and it's clear. Yes it does have a serious alcohol smell but it dissipates very quickly. I have very oily skin, VERY oily, and this sunscreen is great because it's not thick or greasy or goupy or oily. It's clear so it doesn't leave a whitecast and best of all it does not leave my face shiny. I got a sample from the dermatologist and loved it so much I bought it!
Per the Dermstore site:
Solbar PF Liquid SPF 30 is specially formulated for ultra protection from the sun's burning and tanning rays. Oxybenzone and Avobenzone (Parsol 1789) enhance the protection from long wave ultraviolet, which is particularly important to photosensitive or photoallergic people. This is a fragrance-free, Paba-free, non-sticky liquid that spreads easily and stays in place as applied. With its liquid base, Solbar PF 30 is especially suitable for persons with oily skin.
Ingredients
(per Dermstore website):
Avobenzone (Parsol 1789)3%, Homosalate 12%, Octinoxate 7.5%, Oxybenzone 6.0%, Octocrylene 1.5%. SD Alcohol 63% V/v, Isobutyl Stearate, Cyclomethicone, PVP/eicosene Copolymer, Dimethicone, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Acrylates Octylacrylamide Copolymer.

I have very oily skin and wear liquid foundation daily. Lately my choice of daytime lotion is Eucerin Face lotion SPF30. I'm fairly pleased with it but for rare occasion I felt my already pale face looked a bit paler with it. Read reviews online from someone who used the Solbar liquid sunblock under liquid foundation and claimed it's clear. Ordered it online (could not find in stores). What a let down.
It's definitely a clear sunscreen. It's a gel type liquid with very strong alcohol. The alcohol evapurates so fast I can only use a pea size for every quarter size of my skin. Must close eyes while applying otherwise the strong alcohol may melt the eyes. I must have a big face because it takes about 3-5 minutes to cover my face with this. The gel feels greasy though it's mostly oil-free. Once dried, I can not touch my face let along putting liquid foundation on top because Solbar sunblock would ball up whereever my fingers touch. This bottle was $13. But because I needed a huge amount for my face for each application, it's somewhat pricy.
I've been clear of breakout for a few months until I met Solbar liquid sunblock. One application brought a dozen whiteheads on my chin plus one small pimple. Luckily once I stopped using it, the irritation went away in one day. So it's probably just the strong alcohol that's causing temperary irritation.
Definitely and absolutely would not purchase.
