I have mixed feelings about this mascara- I do return to buying it because I do like the results.. gives great volume to my lashes with a bit of lengthening too. the downsides of this for me I 1) the price... expensive as I find it dries out quickly 2) the fact that it dries out quickly 3) I find the formula dries out my lashes and they seem to break when removing ?
Also in one that I have bought in the past the mascara tube doesn't get rid of excess product so is coated in it and basically un-useable.
all that said it is great for dramatic eyes for a night out but not for an everyday mascara.
it's okay. it's really black. it's heard to take off. damages eyelashes.
I like what this mascara did to my lashes, but it smudged like crazy on me! I always ended up with little black dots underneath my eyebrow. Not worth the length and volume it gives me! Would not purchase again. My Loreal Voluminous Power is way better.
I watch a ton of YouTube videos and after hearing the hype around this mascara for months I got a sample and fell in love, I even ordered a full size the next day! I didn't think I could ever justify £20 on a mascara when there are fantastic ones on the market for under a tenner, but this one blows them all out of the water. It's wet, pigmented and adds length and volume all at once. It is expensive, which I why I didn't give it the full 5*, but I will be repurchasing.
I got this mascara as a sample from Sephora. I really love it and will by the full bottle once my sample runs out. The only con is that it's difficult to remove. But the pros far outweigh that. I can tell an immediate difference when I apply it. There's some extra oomph that other brands I've tried just don't have. This product bumped my Rimmell Scandaleyes or whatever right out of the running.
Overall, I think this is a good mascara. It's more on the wet side. Gives lots of volume and so makes my lashes stand out by making them blacker than I thought possible. Not sure about the lengthening - I didn't really notice it doing much in that area. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold a curl on my lashes, but if it did, this would probably be a perfect mascara to me. It does, however, cost a bit more than what I'd want to pay here, but if it could hold a curl, I would be willing to overlook its price.
I am very picky when it comes to mascara's. The genius behind any mascara is in the brush, and Benefit knows this. I already have pretty long top and bottom lashes, but they aren't naturally dark, they aren't naturally voluminous and they are pretty straight. So the reason I like this mascara is because it lengthens, volumizes, curls, it doesn't clump, it's buildable, it never flakes, it's lightweight (doesn't feel like it's weighing down your lashes all day), the brush gets into all the small eyelashes, it's extremely dark black (I hate that dull looking black that some mascara's and eyeliners have), it doesn't smell at all (which I like because sometimes I find mascara's have a funky smell before they dry), it dries fairly quickly but not so quickly that you can't work with it without it clumping, it is not waterproof but it will not budge until you take it off (something I also prefer because I find waterproof mascara's are hard to take off), I also think the packaging is pretty and I find with the shape of the tube I don't waste product. The only con I can possibly come up with is the $30 price tag. Though, I am willing to look past the outrageous price because I absolutely love the product. Also I have been lucky enough to receive 2+ free deluxe sample size mascara's from different reward gifts. These samples are large and last a long time so in my eyes, they kind of make up for the price of buying the full size.
I was SUPER excited to try this out since everyone was hyping about it but I ended up being pretty disappointed with it. First off, I have super stubborn Asian lashes so I'm looking for a mascara that can give me good volume and length and hold a curl. Wearing this by itself, I noticed it gave a decent amount of volume and length. However, it did not hold my curl at all. I also noticed at the end of the day, there would be some smudging on my lower lash line. That just goes back to the fact that I should just stick with waterproof mascaras. I ended up using this on top of my other waterproof mascaras just to add volume and not waste the product. I also noticed that people raved about the wand. Honestly, I rarely used the spikey ball at the end because i noticed that when I do use it, it just created smudging.
I bought this thinking that with all the great reviews this would be an HG mascara. For me it is terrible. It flakes and clumps. I hate the wand/brush. It does not fan the lashes out or separate them. It feels heavy on the lashes and really does not look that dramatic.
I have much better results with Cover Girl's Lash Blast in the orange tube.
My favourite mascara - I cannot wear falsies and have fairly thin lashes but this mascara makes me look tired and more alert in addition to them being longer/thicker. The tiniest bit clumpy (but nearly every mascara is..) but I just brush off any excess with a Q-tip. It will probably smudge a bit by the end of the day though, but if just for a few hours at school you should be good.
The only downside is that it's kind of hard to get off unless you have a good make-up remover? Like I think I got it all off, then take a shower, and some still smudged so I have to wipe off the edges of my eyes again lol.. doesn't really bug me that much though.
