"Smoothing" is exactly what this does. Don't expect 'smooth' to mean "soft," but if you mix it with lotion/cream you'll get smooth _and_ soft. I use it all over my feet (w/socks), on elbows, knees, and then I rub it into my hands & add lotion.

It's weird, blue, and rather sticky, but it does what it says. Honestly, for some people it will just be too sticky. But if you can handle that part, the results are great.
