My search for a good everyday sunscreen continues.....
I decided to try this, based on some online reviews that weren't completely favourable, but good enough that it was worth a try.
In terms of its texture when it comes out of the tube, it's quite heavy and definitely closer to the consistency of a sunscreen than a daily face cream - if I flip my finger upside down, the cream doesn't fall off.
It also applies much like a sunscreen and leaves a greasy-ish residue straight afterwards that (if I touch my face) I can see on my fingertips. This residue seems wear off slightly during the day, but it doesn't completely disappear. However, it's not a shiny residue, so my face doesn't actually appear shiny or ghostly - it's just something that I can feel when I touch my face.
In terms of appearance, I don't think it leaves a completely matte finish, as my forehead is still oily. I've also noticed that I'm breaking out a little, but not entirely sure if it's due to the cream - will wait and see.
All in all, it's not a bad everyday cream - the protection level is really high, it's well priced, readily available and waterproof.
I'm beginning to think that if you're after an everyday high protection sunscreen, you're going to have to weigh up which factors are more important to you, because there probably won't be one that ticks all the boxes.
For me, first and foremost is a cream that doesn't feel heavy or leave my face looking shiny. Then it's a high protection level. Then it's a reasonable price, since I'm using it every day. This cream seems to do all of that to a level that is satisfactory for me, but I'll keep looking!!

BEST SUNSCREEN ON THE MARKET! I love that it has a matte finish and doesn't make your face look oily. It also smooths out the skin and makes it healthier, something most sunscreens don't do. It has wonderful sun protection, and is waterproof. There are way too many good things to say about this product! The only problem is price, $8 for a 3 oz. bottle. Not a horrible price, but it could be a little cheaper. But, I am still in love with this sunscreen, it almost makes you excited to protect your skin!

In the beginning I loved this, but I noticed my face would turn read right after application. Thank a few weeks later I began having acne, and finally my eyes starting burning so badly that I switched every form of makeup thinking it was that. Only today did I think to stop wearing the block, and for the first time in two weeks, my eyes have not watered. And no, the block wasn't near my eyes, but it still hurt them. It provided great sun protection, but I'll be reaching for something else!

I wouldn't recommend using this sunscreen on the face. I'm using mine only on my body, as this lotion is thick, and it takes some work to rub it into the skin. Odds are I would break out in cystic acne if I used this on my face. The smell is rather strong, and takes awhile to dissipate. It seems to have a slightly stronger and more unpleasant smell than the SPF 30 version of this product. For what it's worth, the packaging on this does not say "face" for the product name. It is labeled, "Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 45." It's in a 3 oz. tube. In the future I will probably only buy the SPF 30, as it's much more pleasant in texture, and the smell is less objectionable.

I purchased this facial sunscreen as it was highly recommend by Paula Begoun and I was able to purchase it on sale for $9.99. I personally didn't like this sunscreen as it was thick, required a lot of blending and never really absorbed into my skin. I found applying make-up over top was quite difficult as it seemed to ball up in look cakey. The worst part was within a few hours my face looked and felt very greasy. I do like that it contains antioxidants and both UVA & UVB protection. I will use up the remainder of the product applied to my body, but won't repurchase. continued >>

I bought this as a facial sunscreen, but it clogs my pores. It's great to use on my arms, though it smells like sunscreen, which is not a pleasant smell to me. Still, it does the job--it's just not something I can use on my face without creating cystic acne.

This isn't bad as a face sunscreen. I don't like how thick it is and that it pulls on my face when I try to rub it in. I feel like it should have a smoother application and be "sheer" like it claims to be. It sort of leaves a greasy feeling behind which I don't like.I have very fair skin, although I'm Mediterranean so I don't tend to tan or burn easily. However, today I was out in the sun for about 5 hours and my shoulders burned! That hasn't happened in years. I checked to see if my face was ok and it wasn't even red. It doesn't feel hot or burned at all. This sunscreen DOES work but I'm sure there's a better one out there that isn't as thick or feel greasy.
