I think this mascara works ok, it was perfect when i first bought it, but after few months it began to dry out.
When i first used it, it works really fine, when it begans to dry out i get mascara clumps which is ok because it can be removed with a mascara comb.
But overall i probably wouldn't buy it again when i finished it.

Now, i bought this mascara about 2-3 months ago and rated it 1 lippy. BUT Ive had to delete that review and give a brand new one. Basically, this mascara has sat in my makeup unit for the above anount of time, after i had a rubbish experience with it. BUT i decided on giving it a last chance the other day and im so so glad i did. I found the formula had dried a little, therefore making the fibres in the formula much more "sticky" and really this mascara made my lashes so long!!! I love it! Its just a shame it took 3 months to dry up a little for it to become ideal!!!!

Awful first impression of this mascara. Actually made my eyelashes look shorter!! Fortunately I got this as a freebie and didn't have to pay around NZD30. Lovely packaging but by far the worst mascara I have used in years.

I got this product from winning one of those prizes on the webiste. I was excited because L'Oreal's mascaras are usually priced GBP13 thus I got this one for free they even shipped it to my doorstep =)
Pros:
- It is black
- Got it for free with free post
Cons:
- OMG it clumps like crazy!!!! even if I swipe the excess on the edges of the tube there's so much product that it's so messy. It never coats my lashes evenly and with all the clumps it takes me a lot of time to separate my lashes and take out the clumps
- This formulation smudges, by mid-day I can already see panda eyes on me. Thus it does not last long.
- I don't believe it holds my curl long due to heavy clumping
- the Brush is not helping me, being a person with short lashes.
Overall will not buy this, so happy I got this for free or else I would have wasted a lot of money.

I wish that I read these reviews before I purchased this mascara. Then I would have stayed away from it. As others already have said, it is not very good. Hard to layer, and a lot of clumping. I have tried other mascaras from this company that was much better.

This mascara is rubbish. After 5 minutes of wear I had black flakes around my eyes. The tube is awkward and the brush deposits uneven clumps of mascara. Don't waste your time.

This is another mascara that smudges. I have oily t-zone.
I do like this mascara but I hate the smudging so it's a NO for me.

This is the first L'oreal mascara I have ever tried. Normally, I don't comment much on packaging, but I found the tube of this mascara to be very large and awkwardly shaped. Now onto the actual mascara: The formula is on the dry side, which for me is generally a positive point, but this formula was too dry. After two weeks of use, I felt like it was time to throw my tube away because it seemed to have dried up, and was extremely difficult to coat my lashes in mascara! I find this mascara clumps easily, doesn't do a good job of separating the lashes, or providing them with much length or volume. I would not repurchase this product.

i'll admit that i was sucked in by the ad for this. although i already have a mascara that i'm pretty happy with, an ad filmed without lash inserts? with no trickery? no fine print? i had to try it. plus i got it for a special introductory price!
sadly, i haven't really used it since. i think it's the brush that lets it down. i am more of a fan of the plastic brushes (which this does not have). the brush doesn't really "hug" your lashes i suppose you could say. plus it clings on to gunky glops of mascara and it's just....not good. i'm tempted to maybe buy a plastic brush and then put it in this? because the formula seems to be pretty good. although my lashes may be a bit clumpy and perhaps spidery looking, they are also super long and i really like that. it actually lengthens my bottom lashes, which would be great if it didn't leave horrible glops of mascara everywhere. i think it might be a little bit on the crunchy side though. the little microfibre things....i'm not entirely sure if they play a huge part in the lengthening, but they don't seem to irritate my eyes (and i have super sensitive eyes).
i guess i'll see if i can use a different brush with this. if not? i'll just continue with my regular favourite mascara (covergirl lash blast) and feel a little foolish for thinking this might actually work.

I would say that I have average lashes, not really long, but enough there. I have used the normal lash architect and now this one and each time I can't really say that I am overly impressed by them. One thing that is abit weird is that I never really find that they last that long?? Like the quality of the product from opening seems to deteriorate quite quickly. I got some really lovely lashes on first applications, but now I really have to work at it, by taking long slow strokes with the brush to try and avoid clumping. The brush is now quite messy and I've only been using it for about two weeks. I was using Bad Gal lash before this and I find I can really get my money's worth out of this product, whereas whenever I go back to L'Oreal I end up feeling slightly disappointed especially because I would say they are the higher end of your drug store products. I don't think I'll repurchase.

I love this - initially bought since it was on promo and you got a free infallible eyeshadow with it. Have since repurchased twice - really like this as it helps my v straight lashes keep a curl better and it's got nice drama.
I still love Collegen Volume Extreme as I'm not generally a silicone brush fan but this will be on rotation with the Collegen for some time to come.
I've tried lots of high end mascaras (Dior, Benefit, Bobbi Brown) and other drugstore brands (Maybelline, Rimmel) but I just really love the L'Oreal products and as a bonus they're very reasonably priced!

i used to buy expensive mascaras (lancome. ysl etc.) and thats because my lashes is "'my thing"and i've always thought that this was for the best.after hundrend of euros i realised that 4d is just the same with all these redicilous expensive brands!it really curls and it really adds volume...the price (16euros) just wonderfull!the only disadvandage is that if you have sensitive eyes i wouldn't recoment you (but this is also for dior blackout...an expensive brand).don't waist your money girls!

I love to be able to really layer on my mascara, maybe about four or five applications to each eye, to really build up my lashes!
More than one application of Lash architect - and just watch the clumps arrive on your lashes! Can't be sure but Im pretty positive this product is irritating my eyes! The mascara wand really isn't that great, its very hard to get right in close to the eye and extend out your lashes.
Of the L'Oreal mascaras I much prefer the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes!
If you like very minimal mascara then try this - if you dont, my advice would be - spend a few pounds more and buy a better mascara!

At first I hated this mascara, it felt sticky and heavy, but after a few applications I realised that even with the cons, it does add volume and DOES curl. So its not perfect, and for the £10.99 price tag, I dont think its worth it that much!

This product has the potential to be amazing but it's not there yet... It does give lashes impact and curles them well but the brush is plastic brissels rather than solid plastic and because of this I think there's more clumps than there should be. I'm sure L'Oreal will release a solid plastic brush over the brissels soon because a lot of companies do this. For now though I'd hold off on this product, a few coats of any other mascara would have the same result.

Best mascara I've ever used! A bit pricier than the other drugstore brands (NZD$38.99) Delivers what it promises, give a false lash look. Brush separates lashes well and is curved for the curl effect. I was using a horrible mascara that I won in a contest and was trying to use it up, but it was so thick and heavy and wouldn't come off, switching to this was HEAVEN, so so light and easy to remove but coats wonderfully.

OMG AMAZING! This mascara lengthens, adds volume and makes lashes look amazing all in one coat! I normally always get waterproof mascara but they didn't have any left so I decided to get this one non waterproof and it didn't smudge at all! I put it on before work, after about 6 hours I looked in the mirror and there was absolutely no smudging, flaking or anything! And, I do get watery eyes a lot and this didn't smudge at all! Also really easy to get off with makeup remover!
