So my CHI flat iron which I have own for 4 years fell apart this past weekend (the plug part actually broke in 2 pieces as I was unplugging it). Money is tight right now. In desperation, I looked at ulta, and both sallys to find something identical. I came across this review and went to Sallys and purchased this flat iron and luckily it was on sale, so with my sally's card, I got it for $22 something. I have owned this for 1 week.
Here is what I think the difference is between this and the CHI, Thats why My rating is a 4.:
-At 410 degrees this does not mimic the CHI at all. At 450, the highest setting, this does get my hair just as soft and straight.
-This flat iron makes my hair super smooth but also flattens out any volume I have in my fine limp hair. The CHI kept my hair bouncy while it straightened my hair.
-I dont know the long term effects of this flat iron, because the CHI didnt cause split ends or caused my ends to be dry. I hope this flat iron doesnt damage my hair.
Overall, this is a great flat iron that will be an anchor item for me until I can save up enough money to afford the CHI again. Its very similar but not an actual dupe.

I am very impressed with this flat iron. I bought it @ Sally's for $30 as they were having a sale. The iron itself is great quality, heats up fast, straightens extremely well in a short amount of time; moreover it has universal voltage, so I can use it wherever I go. At first, I was skeptical of the LED ( after 50 minutes of use the iron automatically shuts off), but when I tried it, I used the flat iron for about 10 minutes(my hair was already blow-dried straight) only and my hair was very shiny and glossy. Usually one pass does the trick, since the iron gets pretty hot, even on the lowest setting. I think that this flat iron is salon quality at a very affordable price. 5 lippies:)
