This sunscreen smells amazing and leaves a beautiful shimmer on your skin. I haven't tried it on my face yet, so I don't know how it would work there but it is great on the rest of my body.

Love it. Just bought it, but I tested it out on my arms and I love it. It is such a beautiful subtle shimmer. I was mixing a shimmer lotion into my old sunscreen so this saves me a step and it works so so so much better. I love it and will be using it for the remainder of the summer, and probably through the winter as well because I just love it so much. The smell is so summery and tropical and the spf 20 will do the job! I am planning on using it on my legs and collarbones for a wedding I am attending soon, as one reviewer said it stays on all day. I hope the shimmer wont transfer to my husbands suit!

I have my favorite sunscreen (Celazome) & my favorite shimmer lotion (Burt's Bees), but this product combines both in one & its performance exceeded my expectations.

The shimmer is subtle & imperceptible in normal indoor light, so it's not at all garish or obvious. In sunlight the skin gleams softly with a beautiful subtle bronzy sheen. Thankfully the mica particles aren't an ugly shade of gilded yellow gold like Jergens lotion. Mica is a wonderful natural mineral shimmer.

The kicker that surprised me was that not only was the sunscreen waterproof through swimming (lasted all day @ the beach, 6 hrs) but also the glowy shimmer clung to my skin the whole day too. I assumed the shimmer would wash away as soon as the water touched my skin. It's amazingly waterproof! And the lotion is thin & spreads easily (as opposed to Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch which is a thick paste). I love that the shimmer shows me where I applied it so I can avoid any unprotected spots. It feels good on the skin, looks amazing, absorbs in right away & like someone else said it's not sticky.

As a bonafide shimmer nut, I ran around hunting this down. I love a nice shimmery glow on summer tan skin. I finally found this @ CVS for $11 & also bought the companion After Sun shimmer lotion too, which has a delicious tropical Coconut Papaya scent. Nothing but good things to say about these products (except the clunky packaging needs improvement).

These are definite re-buys & am going to go get backups!

The best sun block ever!!! I rarely get sunburned but I get sunspots if I don't wear it so I have to. I would hate wearing sunblock because it makes my skin a dull gray color.This sun screen doesn't do that. I love wearing this stuff! It makes my skin sparkle and glow. I love,love it!

I don't have anything new to contribute that other reviewers haven't already said about this, but I loved it so much, I wanted to review. The one thing I would add is that because it's such a subtle effect, I will likely wear it all year, and although I always wear sunscreen on my face, I generally just use plain old lotion on my bod...so this could be the product that gets me to use sunscreen every day. Kuddos to HT for that!

Once again a Hawaiian Tropic Lotion has not failed me :). The Shimmer Effects Lotion is currently one of my favourites to use during the day time. I love the glowing look it gives my tanned legs. I also love how it does not feel sticky; feels like you are wearing nothing at all.

Another summer staple for me -- this smells nice (light coconut scent), has a pretty, subtle shimmer, doesn't feel sticky or tacky, and keeps my arms and chest from getting burned during my commute to work. I walk a lot downtown and do everything I can to avoid sun damage (or the city version of a farmer's tan.) HT also sells a cute 2 oz. bottle of this that is good for trying it out, travel, or carrying in your bag for reapplication. It's good and good for you!

I use body lotion daily and was looking for something that would serve as a sunscreen and lotion in one. This is it! It smells great and doesn't leave a white veil on my skin. It leaves a nice shimmery effect along with a nice, light coconut smell. I am very fair-skinned and I usually get a slight burn from the first day of being in the sun in my bikini and I spent the day yesterday in my bikini with no burning! Also, this product isn't tested on animals, which is a requirement of mine. Will buy again and highly recommend!

As soon as I saw my skin in the sun I was in love with this sunscreen. Very tiny golden shimmers, it was so pretty and subtle. So often products that claim to shimmer actually have large pieces of glitter, so I was pleasantly surprised to find such finely milled shimmer in this. I mixed this half-and-half with my other sunscreen so it will last longer and even using half of it I still got a good amount of shimmer. Got this BOGO at Walgreens and it came with a free tiny bottle of aftersun shimmer.

I bought the 8oz. Sheer Touch SPF 30 and received a 2 oz. Shimmer Effect SPF 20 as a bonus. I had debated long and hard over just buying the full-sized Shimmer Effect but then opted to get the Sheer Touch just in case my boyfriend ever needs to borrow it. I think now that I will go back and buy the full size anyways since I am in love! When you try this in the store, the shimmer probably looks invisible, but when you go outside in the light it is noticeable. Don't be scared though - this is NOT large glittery flakes and you're not going to look like a glitter ball. I thought it made my skin look dewy like a VS model on a photo shoot. I have been even using it when just going to the office as a highlighter for my collar bones and shins. The hue tends to be a golden cast and it really flatters my pale fair skin. I imagine it would be even better on medium and darker toned girls.
The scent is wonderfully tropical and coconut-y, like all Hawaiian Tropic lotions. If you want to wear other fragrances and don't want competition, don't worry because it does fade after about an hour.
I would say that it feels comparable to the Sheer Touch in that it melts in and I forgot I was wearing sunscreen. The shimmer stays put and doesn't rub off all over your clothes. I am so glad I bought this and the experiment was worth it since now I have a purse-sized sunscreen for emergencies.

I'm actually reviewing SPF 20; I am very, very fair and bought this to use while in Vegas, where it was 90 degrees and sunny. I was in the sun for 1 1/2 hrs the first day with absolutely NO burning, and for 3 hours the 2nd day and had minimal burning where I was skimpy with the sunscreen. The bottle doesn't say it's waterproof (at least I couldn't find it on there) but it totally is. It is very shimmery and pretty so it makes it easier to tell where you've put it. I would definitely buy this again for great sun protection!
