Initially I was in love with this color, thought it could do no wrong honestly. Now that I've had it for about 7 months I do not feel the same. To me it does not wear well, which is sad because it is such a gorgeous color. The application is tricky, the formula is thicker than I like but it still takes 3 coats for an even application. Right now I have the China Glaze Strong Adhesion base coat, 3 coats of Mermaid's Tears, and the China Glaze Fast Forward top coat. It looks fine, for the most part, but it seems like this color chips a lot easier than some others I use. All in all, it's pretty but it's more of a hassle than it's worth.

The most fantastic colour ever! Makes me feel like a mermaid :).
Good coverage and lasting power, doesn't chip and stay on nice for 5 days. I love the entire Pirates collection it comes with.

This is an interesting shade. Haunting yet very pretty. It looks slightly more grey in the bottle than it does on your nails, but it comes out a lovely dusty seafoam green colour. As with most pastel type shades, the formula could be a little better. It's not super runny like some, but it could do with a little thickening up. While it's nice that it goes on smoothly, it does take about 3 coats to get an even coverage. Overall, I like this polish. It's a lovely shade for Spring and it's a little out of the ordinary.

This is a pretty colour and is wearing well. My current mani consists of Sally Hansen base/top coat + 3 coats Mermaid's Tears + Seche Vite and it has worn for three days with no chips. I took off a lippy because the application was tricky, it was streaky and did not level well.

What a gorgeous color! I am just getting used to some of the more bold and unique colors, and this one is a hit! Perfect for Spring! It is different without being garish, a pretty medium minty blue green with a hint of dusty. Very happy I decided to branch out! Definitely a two coater though, first coat is a tiny bit streaky.

Oh geez. This color is ridiculously gorgeous!! As other reviewed wrote, it's a duaty seam foam green. Reminds me of essie's turquoise and cacaos but that one comes out to a bright blue green color. Def prefer this polish!!! Applies like butter and dries quick. I used opi's natural nail base coat, 2 coats of this polish and 2 coats of Nicole by opi's top coat plus no chipping polish. Def would repurchase! :)

Love, love, love it. Such a pretty dusty sage-y green. I kept thinking my nails looked like a 50's retro appliance. So many compliments on this!! Applied like heaven, my first goof-free manicure. One week and minor tip wear - I changed to Metro Chic today and as much as I like MC, I'm missing my pretty Mermaid Tears nails!

Gorgeous dusty sea foamy sort of green on me. One - two coats, great opacity. Works really well with my tanned NC 40-ish hands. Seems a little stark for winter but reminds me of green tea ice cream and spring. Love!

Nice dusty jade colour. Didn't look 'dirty' like some greens do on my skin.
Stains nails, so you need to use base coat. (minus one lipstick)

Such a lovely, easy-to-wear colour. Will be perfect for Spring. Applies so nicely and dries super quickly. Lovely nail lacquer!

Mermaid's Tears is undeniably lovely! It's a sort of pale aqua, with greyed under tones, yet it also has a hint of seafoam to it. It's very flattering against my NW15 fair skin. I don't have any other colours quite like this! It's from the Pirates collection which I have 4 mini's from - and I must say this is my favourite.
The application went very smoothly as the formula is pigmented, creamy and nearly opaque at two coats though, I chose to do three. I have no complaints on the lasting power; four+ days without any major chips when using top/base coats. I would recommend and repurchase for sure!

This is a dusty aqua shade. It applies perfect in 2 coats. It reminds me of a stormy day at the beach. It def has a grey undertone which is different and unique for an aqua shade. I love the name Mermaids Tears too it totally matches the color.

This is a beautiful green. I am very pale and it compliments my skin tone better than any other green I have tried. It goes on smooth and creamy, and turns opaque in two-three coats. I am sad that this is a limited edition color. I would buy it again if they sold it year round.

This is a nice seafoam green. This is a straight creme polish with a smooth even formula.

I love this shade. One of my fav colors is aqua green and I love mermaid themed things so I had to have this. It's a very pretty polish and is opaque after 2 coats but with 3 coats it's even prettier. If you like For Audrey or Mint Candy Apple I'd suggest you give this shade a try also. It's a perfect beachy summer shade but still works all year long too.

This has been one of my absolute favorite polishes since I bought it. The formula is slightly gloopy and between that and the pro wide brush it's very easy to put too much on at once and get it on your finger if you're not careful. This color also looks amazing with the silver shatter top coat that's meant to go with the Pirates collection. I'm obsessed with it.
