It's more like a lip stain and if I want a gloss look, I normally use MAC's Clear Lipglass and then apply the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream on top of the gloss. Help to intensify a color with longer lasting results. The tube is not tight at the tip and it doesn't take off the excess cream on the sponge tip. So, be careful because it can be a bit messy. The price is not bad its around $6 at any local beauty supply store but it could be cheaper. Also, the lip stains may not be true to color from looking at the tube. Milan looks like it has a hint of Lavender coloring in it. Milan (from first glance at the tube) look like MAC's Viva Glam V or MAC's Cremesheen Modesty (the lipstick). So, if you can...test it first. Overall, this is a inexpensive lip stain which you only have to apply with one dab and it will last for at least 2-3 hour.

These lip creams stay on longer than the average lipstick and do not "kiss off." Once you apply, it takes about 10 minutes to set completely, and for me, lasts about 4 hours. The texture is very light and reminds me of a mousse, if that makes any sense. The only issue I have with this product is that your lips can look hella gross with this on if they are at all dry/chapped. If my lips weren't dry as often as they are, I'd use this every day. If you're someone who doesn't have issues with dry lips, and like a matte finish, this could become a favorite for you. Also, take note that this isn't a product you can layer a lot/reapply without removing your initial coat. If you do that, it will look clumpy/streaky at best, and totally grody at worst. A point of interest for me is that even though this product can accentuate chapped lips, it doesn't tend to create dryness as do most of the lipsticks I've used in the past. While it can get a little crusty after being on your lips for several hours, it's only the product that gets flaky, not your actual lips.
Milan is a great cool-toned pink that to me appears to have just a hint of lavender. I'm an NC25 with pale lips and this shade does a good job of brightening them up, but isn't too bright to wear with a smokey eye. I tend to put just a little gloss on top of this so it doesn't get to feeling too dry after a while. If you're looking for something different than any lip product you've tried, give soft matte lip creams a shot!

My favourite out of the 4 I just recently bought. It's a MLBB kinda deal with this one. A flattering flush of rose color on my lips which can be built up to look very opaque. Gotta make sure your lips are baby soft before putting on these matte lip creams! It does take a bit more prep time before just slapping this one on but the color is so lovely and the price is on point for what it is.
How I like to apply this is just putting on dab onto the center on my lips and working it around by mashing my lips together. Sounds unattractive but the results make me look bangin' LOLS...
I find that if you apply this like your normal doe footed lipgloss it gets just way too much product for your lips to handle.
The scent is very faint, don't really know what it is but it's nothing to pass up this product for. And THANK GOODNESS, this doesn't have a flavour like the round lipsticks [my tea rose tastes like soap D:!] so that's a relief.
Of course I wish NYX could make this moisturizing somehow some way but that's okay. I only paid like $4 for it so I'm content.

Too cool toned for me!!
I use just a bit of it and mix it with other lipsticks so that it doesn't look too cool toned.
lasts really long!!
Be warned, not everyone can pull this off!!

I LOVE THIS! The texture is very smooth, not at all sticky. It doesn't completely dry down and dry out your lips, but it does have a matte look to it. I have the soft matte lip creams in antwerp and addis ababa, which I also like. Milan is a much more wearable color, though. If you like the NYX lipgloss in beige or ELF lipstick in classy, you'll LOVE this<3 such a pretty, natural color. continued >>

this is just an initial review on my first thoughts of this product. i'll update later after i've used it more.
--wand makes application very easy
--texture is amazing! moisturizing, but not sticky. not too thick or too thin
-- color is matte
-- looks like a lipstick, but doesnt really "dry"
so far, so good!

i LOVE thissssss!!!!
wore it today for an interview, and it was a good natural looking color (Milan). it stayed put for a good 4 hours at least, without any touch ups, and would have lasted longer had i not eaten. when it faded it faded off evenly, and didnt setle into lines. the color is very pigmented, but doesnt look caked on, how a lot of lipsticks and look. goes on SUPER smooth, and isnt drying at all, which is amazing, it has quite a strong scent of vanilla upon application, but after it dries that goes away. doesnt taste like anything to me. color is very matte, in a good way. i like having the option to wear it both ways, since i can just add a gloss if i want some shine.
i liked it so much that they next time i'm at an Ulta/Sephora, i plan on picking up the londone one, which is a nudey browniish color. i'm also looking at antwerp, but i wish it were a toucch lighter and more peach as opposed to coral. i'll update again when i try out a new color :)
I absolutely love this stuff. It is so pigmented and lasts forever. It has a nice matte finish but is not completely flat. Very flattering on my NC15 skin. Like other people have said it's a tad bit drying and does not go well with chapped lips, but at around $3.00? SO worth it.
NYX's Soft Matte Lip cream is another hit for me. I would describe this color as a medium pink, It really brightens my face and is great for a pop of color when wearing a neutral eye. The formula is very soft and almost feels like a moose on your lips. I found this to be surprisingly long lasting, I put it on before Dinner and it definitely stood up to the test. I find that it applies better if you apply lip balm and let it soak into your lips but remove any left over before applying this cream. While this lip cream is not very moisturizing it is definitely no worse then any other matte lipstick, I have worn it all week and had no problem wit my lips drying out. I have this in a few other colors but this one is definitely one of my favs.
