The first smell I get is hay, which gives a sense of warmth and depth. The hay smell continues for about fifteen minutes, and then I smell flannel. Both are very pleasant and I would love to smell this on a man. For what it's worth, I don't smell any citrus, vetiver or violet as the ad claims, but I have a notoriously goofy nose.
