This mascara has been in my make up bag for ages, however I noticed the packaging has changed and so has the brush, when it was in the blue tube I loved it but since its changed I hate it!

I brush is to big and doesn't grab my lashes properly and its hard to build up, the mascara isn't as sticky as it used to be and seems very thin.

luckily enough in some shops I can still get hold of the "old version" of the volume flash, but how long for I don't know, I know I won't be buying this one!

Worst waterproof mascara I ever bought in my entire life. I was hoping that it will hold my curl because every waterproof mascara that I had even got always hold my curl. This mascara also give me raccoon eyes too.

Not the worst mascara, it's better than many others. It coats nicely and it gives some fullness. But not nearly as much length, definition or thickness as L"oreal's Voluminous. It doesn't smuge right away, but you will start getting racoon eyes if you wear it for more than 12 hours. It's also not good at holding a curl, even with a heated curler! A mascara that won't hold a curl is a dealbreaker. Will not be buying again.

Oh my goodness, I def don't think I'll ever be going back to rimmel for mascara. I'm the kind of girl that's very picky when it comes to mascara and I've bounced around from very high end to drugstore brand. I decided to pick this up because it was waterproof, easy on the budget and ofc because of it's too cute hot pink tube. I wanted so badly to like this mascara but I just could not get it to work for my lashes. It didn't do anything except leave my lashes a big clumpy mess if I even tried to put more than one coat on. Pro: It was really waterproof, I've cried in the mascara and it never ran down my face. Con: clumpy,"wet", hard to handle wand, hard to remove. Overall I would only recommend this to someone who is used to only putting on one coat of mascara and wants a very basic look.

Love this mascara. It's cheap and it works for my lashes. Brings them out and makes them look thick. If you have thick lashes then I highly recommend you use this !

I've come to add to the less-than-impressed reviews of this product. I just can't get on with this mascara at all, even though I wanted to love it. I have short, sparse and straight lashes so I'm not working with a lot in the first place and this mascara made the task that much harder. As soon as I pulled the wand out I noticed that it was clumpy and even after wiping the excess off onto a tissue the clumps transfered to my lashes. I found the formula to be thick yet dry, so it was flaking off even as I was applying, which made it difficult to build up layers. By the time I got to my second coat it was looking awful. No volume, just flaky, clumpy lashes. I love the bright packaging but it's what's inside that counts and for me, this was rubbish. I'm giving it 1 lippie because it lives up to its waterproof claim. I've kept it as an emergency mascara, but even then I think I'd rather go without. Disappointed that I wasted the money, as for my budget even Rimmel mascaras are on the pricey side. I looked on the Boots website and they're selling for £6.69. Perhaps it would work better for someone with longer lashes? I'm not sure but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for women with lashes like mine. It hasn't put me off trying other Rimmel mascaras though, I'll just steer clear of the Volume Flash ones!

Let me start off by saying I have sparse lashes. I need volume more than I need length, and when I ran out my current mascara ( CG LB), I decided to try something different. I picked up this Rimmel mascara as the name " volume flash the MAX waterproof" seemed to fit the bill for my lash needs. Besides the hot pink packaging suckered me...love pink! lol.

This mascara did give my sparse lashes volume without clumping. I used 2-3 coats. I was impressed with the results, but my complaint comes with the fact that this masacra is too "wet". Meaning, it coated my lashes fine as the brush picked up enough product when pulled from the tube, but the formula itself was wet to where it took FOREVER to dry. When I'd blink, it would transfer to under my eye area. I let a few minutes pass, as I do my eyes 1st, then my foundation, then back to do my lower lash line with liner and mascara, and when I got to the point of doing my lower lash, the mascara from the top still was wet & smudged underneath. What a PITA to clean it up!

Needless to say, I used up the tube as I didn't want to waste my $, but I will not repurchase. I will stick with my trusty CG LB.

This is the second mascara that I have bought and it was better than I had expected.

Pros: it does add volume to my sparse Asian lashes, I like the packaging, it is waterproof (I tear up easily and the mascara holds), it is relatively easy to remove with normal makeup remover, the formula is fairly wet when I first apply it but dries relatively quickly, gives my lashes a fairly natural look, does length lashes a little bit (might not be as dramatic as some people want it but it suits me fine) and the mascara wand is easy to use.

Cons: on occasion the mascara causes my lashes to clump together when I apply a generous amount, I doubt it added 14X more volume to my lashes (but it might just be because I want a more "natural" look).

My opinion may change as I try other brands' waterproof mascara. But for now, I am quite content with this mascara.

I used to regular formula before and never rebought it because I had too many mascaras and wanted to go through them before I went and rebought this one, well needless to say it went on sale at target and came with a free eyeliner so I bought what I thought was the regular version come to find out it was the waterproof one but I actually love it. I've tried so many waterproof mascaras and they all flack too much and make it beyond difficult to remove at the end of the night, this one is actually the complete opposite I don't have to rub or scrub to make it come off, I just tab and swipe and it's gone. The volume that I get is just amazing I haven't been able to find another mascara to do the same thing as this one. It's a new favorite and I'm def going to keep it around for a while

I sort of understand the reviews on this mascara- too wet of a formula, doesn't hold a curl, etc., because I experienced those things, too, when I first used it. After I put the mascara on, I had about 5 really thick eyelashes. So, I just put it in my drawer and forgot about it for a month, and used a mascara my sister gave me (Lancome Hypnose Waterproof- really good, btw, but it dries out really quickly -___-)

When that mascara dried out, I found this one again, and thought I'd give it another try.

And wow.

This is definitely the best mascara I have ever used. I never understood when people said, 'This mascara leaves my lashes soft!' because who goes around touching their eyelashes? But this mascara makes it feel like I have NO MASCARA on, even with like, FIVE COATS. I have straight, sparse, but fairly long Asian lashes, and some mascaras make my eyelashes longer, but sparser. This mascara doesn't. It elongates, volumizes, and blackens each individual lash, so it looks like I have on fake eyelashes (no joke). It doesn't clump AT ALL, even after 5-6 coats (after a while, I just wanted to keep putting it on to see how long it would take to clump up... never) If you want a natural, fluttery look, one coat will do you, but if you want dramatic, this one's also great!

All in all, amazing, and I would definitely repurchase. The only con is that you have to wait for it to dry out a little before getting the good effects- but it is so worth the wait!
