Glass packaging meaning the foundation will spoil when in contact with light. Seriously reduces lifetime of the foundation.
Not as light as hoped, quite heavy. Doesn't keep oiliness at bay. Coverage what you would expect.
Strange formula really.
Scented, which is bad for skin.
When I had a really awful breakout (thank you Clinique) I was turned to this stuff off a wim. The ladies were so helpful and looked up each product to ensure that everything I purchased was oil free. While I'm not much educated about the chemicals in this foundation, I will say it helped clear my breakout with a good concealer and setting powder (I use loreal true match and loreal hydramatte loose powder) it makes my skin look like satin. It lasts all day I don't get shiny and I use the same shade year round (with a bronzer in summer). One bottle lasts me at least 9-12 months and a little goes a long way. I've been using this for 3+years and it has never made me breakout. I love this and cannot switch to anything else bc results do not measure up. I am a clarins loyalist love their skin care makeup everything. I highly recommend this to anyone with troubled skin bc the ingredients are natural but not RAW so it won't irritate you.
I absolutely adore this foundation. It's quite expensive ($42+tax, which here, is 13%, bringing it to almost $50!), but definitely worth it. The packaging impressed me with the heavy glass bottle and gold-coloured top, but it has a pump, which is nice. However this also means it is terrible to get out of the bottle when you run out, although there's loads in there, just that the pump can't reach. Nonetheless... amazing product.
The coverage, although medium, provides a very pretty look. I have many blemishes, and this foundation just makes my skin look absolutely gorgeous. I wear the shade 105 Nude, and it's perfect. I wear this with a concealer and a powder, and it stays in place most of my 6 hour school day, which I can appreciate very much. I was going to repurchase this today, actually, but they don't sell it where I live. I've settled for the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation.. hopefully it can meet the high standards that this foundation has set. :)
After using this foundation for several months, I've concluded that I will try others due to the color. I expect to have difficulty finding something better. I purchased the lightest color available, 104 Cream with 01 mineral powder and 02 stick concealer. (Laura Mercier's Porcelain Ivory was a better color match for me.) I have a few minor lines and wrinkles, and this foundation doesn't draw attention to them. It doesn't make my pores look bigger unless I use a sunscreen underneath. When applied normally, it's hard to tell I'm wearing foundation even up close, and the coverage was better than expected (medium). The finish isn't shiny and I can skip the powder if I want. The packaging quality and smell were nice. I thought the color 104 was a bit too brownish for my fair skin, and the color of the matching concealer wasn't effective enough at making me look less tired. I will definitely use this foundation/concealer until I run out, but I will be on the hunt for a better color.
Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation is too drying, even thought they say it is light. Also by the way this Clarins foundation is shockingly Full Of Chemicals. titanium dioxide has been linked to cancer. Therefore I think it is best to avoid these chemicals. In the US we are also exposed to this dangerous chemical however literally putting it on my face, I felt unwell afterwards,.
My friend has recommended Lavera Foundation with Flower Liposomes. Really a beautiful silky foundation oh and the big plus it is Organic and has NO chemicals like in Clarins Skin Illusion.
There is also a company I am thinking of trying out that is Beauty without Cruelty, sounds really good and it s Organic...really cool
Let me know what you guys think.
I love this foundation. I have dry skin normally but can get oily quickly in my t zone. I have colour wheat in 109 and it's the most beautiful shade I have ever found. It doesn't cover greatly but if u have clear and perfect skin anyway it's ideal, otherwise with a good concealer it's perfect. I would not recommend this for oily skin at all. The price is v good, previously I was spending £30 plus so I'm v happy! Somehow I always go back to this foundation!!
This foundation is amazing! It looks natural and beautiful on the skin, it lasts all day and doesn't gets greasy at all.
My Colour is 107 or 109 (NC25-30) depending on season. Perfect for summer and winter, velvety semi-matte finish. Looks very natural. Great for oily skin and it lasts very well. Hides imperfections and does not flake out the skin (oily combination). Dry skin needs moisturizing beforehand but is as great on all skin types. Smell is stronger than what some people may like.
Oh my Gosh! What a huge fail! Reminds me of Revlon colorstay. Strong smell and it seems that it's a full coverage foundation but it doesn't cover ANYTHING! I mean NOTHING! It's so strange! The consistency is so thick and so hard to blend, yet it fails to cover anything (discoloration and acne scars). The lightest shade 104 Cream is NOT the same shade as in Clarins Ever Matte foundation! It's much darker... Also disappointing!
And the "best part"? It broke me out so bad! Mineral is not always good for acne prone skin, girls! Put it on your hand, rub it in and try to wash it off! Isn't easy isn't it? Oily mess that needs good scrubbing to get it off! My poor brushes... No Thank You! Back it goes! Now off to recover my skin, argh!
Girls with problem skin, please stay away!
HG foutnation here this is lovely applies on and absorbs nicely into skin, never looks cakey or makes a line. Has a nice smell to it but its not overpowering. Alot of people are commenting on its staying power but if you use primer and a setting powder it lasts most of the day for me and creates that nice airbrush look as well. My skin feels moisturised after using this its similar to the Bourjois healthy mix but has a bit thicker consistency. Lovely natural look this creates!
