Coverage:
This foundation covers up the red areas of my nose and most of the discolorations I've from past and current blemishes.
Color:
I think that the picture on the Clarins website does a good job at showing what the color looks like once it's on one's face. The lightest shade, cream, is still somewhat darker than my skin color.
Moisture:
It's oil free, so it doesn't make me breakout, and I breakout easily. This does not dry up my skin either.
Lasting power:
I use this over my moisturizer at about 7am in the morning, and by 2pm, the product is mostly gone unless I use a powder too. Exposure to wind makes the makeup go away even faster.
Texture/Finish:
The foundation simply looks like makeup on my face, nothing natural, specially if I use 2 layers in order to create full coverage.

This is the second time I buy this product, the main reason being because it's the only foundation that matches my skin tone perfectly. It is VERY hard to find non yellow based foundations for fair skin, but shade 111 (Toffee) is perfect for me. Plus you don't need much foundation for a decent coverage, so usually one and 1/2 pump will cover my whole face just fine AND lasts about 5 to 6 months. So it's very well worth its price.
The are two reasons why I gave this foundation a 4 rating rather than a 5 and the first one is because it's not perfect for combination skin like mine. On the oiliest parts of my face it tends to look shiny and I have to use matifying powder from time to time for it to stay. On the other hand I found it takes a bit too long to dry, and when you apply powder too soon it can turn very cakey. The advantage is that it's good for build up, but you have to wait too long to apply other makeup (blush, etc), because you take away the foundation with it if you don't. However if you have enough time to let it dry and sit on your skin it will make it look radiant and indeed create a beautiful healthy look.

I like this foundation so much, I add just a touch of a darker Revlon foundation to this just to wear it. And im usually not that girl who would go through the hassle of mixing. The texture is simply beautiful.

I love this foundation, it goes on really well and has good coverage, it lasts all day & needs very little touch up. It does not emphasise lines like other foundations & gives a lovely dewy effect. It also lasts for ages as a little goes a long way, I am using wheat which I find is a very good colour match to my skin. continued >>

The foundation feels really light weight. Although, because its so light weight I feel I need to apply it with a brush if i want moderate coverage.
I wear it on top of my everyday moisturizer and it stays on most of the day without needing retouching.
I have combination skin so need something that isn't oily or drying and in this is defiantly one of my favorite things about this foundation. It doesn't go shiny or flaky.
It is more on the expensive side but last's for ages, I bought my last bottle at Christmas and wear it everyday and would say I'm not even half way through it yet. Because it blends in easily you find yourself not using a lot.
I would definitely recommend this product if your looking for a light weight, easy to use, long lasting foundation.

Loved the smell...its different. Hardest part about this product is finding the correct color! Went from Wheat, returned and finally agreed on Beige. However the color in the store lights were again different when I got home...strange...BUT overall a great brightening effect on the skin...coverage is dreamy, non greasy, easily blendable, soft focus my age group loves which diminishes all fine lines. I swear my skin was improved after removing it at night...btw...it last all day, and then some. Coverage is fantastic and it does indeed give that "illusion" effect!

Current HG for me. Has medium coverage that gives you a glowy finish and flawless skin. Has worked very well with my dry/combination skin and hasn't caused any breakouts. Shade nude 105 is perfect for my light skin tone that leans towards yellow. Comes in a classy glass bottle. Minor downsides would be that it can transfer and that it can't be built to full coverage, as it starts to look cakey. Not for oily skin. Am overall very pleased and I hope they don't discontinue it, which usually happens when I like something.

I tried this at the counter.
I didn't purchase.
I tested this on the back of my hand. It blended out really nice and the scent faded to a faint scent of florals that are similar to melons. It left a clean and smooth finish on my skin but it settled in the fine lines of my 26 yr old hand and then it turned orange on me.
Anything that turns orange on my hand is not good.
I tried the sand shade btw.

I have over 50 foundations, and I find this one quite hard to evaluate!! I bought shade "nude" which I thought was a little pale for my skin tone, as I have quite an olive complexion, I should have bought "sand". I am prone to breakouts, but do not have a shiny complexion..this gives a nice "satin" effect, similar to that of bourjois healthy mix, minus the dewy look. I am not sure if it caused me to have breakouts, but quite soon after I purchased it I had a few cystic spots?? ARGH. It also doesn't cover up imperfections it seems to just create an even skin tone look rather than hide imperfections, I WOULD ADVISE THIS TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NICE SKIN ALREADY

I GOT A SAMPLE OF THIS TODAY FROM BOOTS AND I AM QUITE PLEASED WITH IT.
HOWEVER AS PER USUAL IT MADE MY NOSE, CHIN AND FORHEAD QUITE OLY..THIS IS NOT THE FOUNDATION I DON'T THINK, I HAVE THE DREADED COMBINATION SKIN , MATTE MAKES MY CHEEKS TOO DRY & DEWY MAKES MY NOSE, ETC SHINY.
IN GENERAL THO THIS IS A GOOD FOUNDATION, AND MIX IT WITH MY MAC STUDIO FIX?

Wow, I really like this foundation! My problem in the past with Clarins foundations has always been in the color match (too orange or too pink for my light golden-beige skin), or too matte or too shiny. Skin Illusion seems to address these issues.
For reference, I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone and cheeks that are very dry. Finding something that works for both areas of my face is always a challenge. Additionally, as I'm no longer on my 20's, I do find that I need a bit more coverage and added radiance.
Enter Skin Illusion. It retails for $38USD + tax, for a 1.7oz glass bottle, which is quite reasonable for a department store foundation. The bottle is pump, so quite sanitary. It does have an SPF 10, which is irrelevant to me since I use a separate sunblock in the morning anyway. I was matched to #111-Toffee, which I thought would be too dark for me, as I'm usually around the #108 range, but it surprisingly works. It is a neutral shade (balanced yellow and pink), so I do not end up with that dreaded peach/orange cast. I do think I it is half a shade too dark, but I'm willing to add bronzer to my pale neck.
Coverage is about medium. I use 1 pump over the entire face, applied with a brush, and it seems to melt in and fade away all of my small imperfections. I do have to use a separate concealer on my dark undereye circles, but everything else is blurred away. The foundation feels lightweight on my face - I can barely tell I'm wearing anything. And the added plus? My cheeks feel comfortable and I do not get any crazy oiliness in the t-zone. I do still have to blot 1X during the day, but I have to do that with even the most "oil-controlling" of primers and foundations that I've used in the past.
The finish is very natural - slightly dewy, but not greasy looking. It just looks like real skin. It does have a tiny bit of shimmer to it, but nothing noticeable. In my opinion, it has far less than Chanel Teint Innocence or Vitalumiere original.
Overall, I am very pleased with this foundation and would repurchase and recommend.

absolutely love this product, the best i've ever tried!!!
1. although clarins is not advertised as an organic brand, ingredients are very good - you won't find any mineral oil or parabens on the list
2. the coverage looks medium, but feels light. it covers my pores perfectly (no other powder or foundation could do that before), freckles and small acne scars. still, i don't feel like i'm wearing much foundation and my cellphone and clothes stay clean. it also holds my blush (the balm - down boy) very well
3. the finish is a bit dewy. i was afraid at first, because my skin is very oily, but my skin only looked luminous and fresh, no excessive shine! and i don't even have to use blotting papers or finishing powder. some people are annoyed by the shimmer in it. i must say it's very small and looks very natural. you won't be able to distinguish it unless you turn on all the lights and literally smash your face against the mirror!
4. the packaging looks very classy. the glass bottle is heavy but it makes you think the product is safe inside so it's probably good
all in all i'm very satisfied with this purchase and having used it for a week really found nothing to complain about!

I like this foundation because it feels light but also has good coverage. All you need is a little. I bought in Beige which is a little dark for my pale skin, I would repurchase one shade lighter. This is a good foundation for a natural looking finish and good base for a light powder on top. The colour stays the same all day long , no darkening. A pump bottle is always good for hygiene reasons. I'll carry on buying

I really liked the finish of this product -- a dewy look which I think as you age is the way to go -- and the coverage -- IMO it is light to medium as advertised, but it covered my imperfections without looking masklike. And I loved True Radiance, its predecessor. So I got samples in beige and sand. I chose sand, which is more yellow than I liked (I would be NW20 or NC20 according to a MAC consultant, although I think my skin ismuch more pink). Anyway, the sample lasted 3-4 days and within about 3 days after using the bottle I purchased, I developed some large cystic acne that got better the next day after I stopped using this. I suspect it may be because theTrue Radiance was oil free and this is not, although the SA said it was, it is NOT advertised this way. I got a sample of the Everlasting (which also is not oil free) in nude, which is actually a better color match I think and will try that. I am still giving this a good rating, because it was a nice foundation, although if you're very oily, this won't have a lot of staying power.

******update*******
It's been a month now that I've been using this and still love it! I set it with fix it spray and loose powder and this combo keeps me shine free. The foundation gives a very natural polished look not cakey at all. The only crit I have is that there don't seem to be much darker colours I'm using Amber which is the third darkest shade which is not very dark at all.

I've just started using this and love it so far! It doesn't make your face look 'made up' It just makes your skin look perfect like it's been airbrushed. The scent is very fresh to me it smells like cucumbers and I quite like it. You don't have to use too much a little goes a long way. My T zone stayed nice dewy not oily at all. My skin felt very comfortable. Will update in a months time.

This just isn't for me. I usually use Everlasting in Toffee or Amber (I am a NW30-35) but since I always want to try something else I decided to pick this up for $35 at my local counter. It has a melon-ish scent which doesn't bother me at all. Gorgeous bottle, most of the shades are for fair - tan skin tones so options are limited for darker skinned ladies (and gents). It just didn't give me enough coverage at all. I like medium+ coverage for my foundations as I usually use them for nights out. This gave me medium coverage at best (I have drier skin so if I build up foundation it tends to cake). The finish was gorgeous and slightly dewy for about 2 hours, then it actually made me look greasy and my pores looked so pronounced. I have dry/normal skin and by the end of the day I looked very shiny and patchy and just a huge mess. Maybe I am just used to the medium-full finish of Everlasting, but this just didn't work for me. I decided to exchange it for my usual.

hate glass bottles for foundation, but I have this in cream, shade 104, and its the first foundation I've come accross in a long while which matches my skin colour completely. It has other plus points- feels nice on, gives a nice finish, BUT the redness I have on my face shows through after hardly no time at all.
This is really frustrating and means I won't be buying it again.

First, I was not quite sure what to think about this foundation, as I got it on a bad skin day ( oily, shiny mess) and just needed to try something else.
I got combination skin, oily during summertime and dryer during winter.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (not too good for the summer)& Dior Nude skin (suddenly drying on me) didnīt do it anymore, so I thought, letīs just try something else.
And what can I say - I really like it! It gives me a really smooth complexion with a slight glow on the cheeks. No problems with the oily t-zone anymore, powder only once..wow.I would say it stays put about 7-8 hours without powdering during the day.
The color range is not the greatest, 110 honey is quite a good match for NC25/30 though..
Even the price tag is nicer and the smell is really pleasant and lovely- a fresh cucumber smell, similar to Estee Lauder Day wear plus.
Recommended for combination - oilier skin!

Good foundation. Leaves skin even and natural looking. I have oily skin and it still lasts a reasonable amount of time with a mattifyer, most light foundations slip off in about ten minutes!
