This is the foundation that i will always have in my makeup collection.
I got a sample when it just came out, tried it, loved it and since then i must never run out. This is the only foundation i have ever been constant with and i don't use it everyday anymore but this is my HG foundation. I can never go wrong with this.
I am the shade 110 honey in this. Now as for why i love it so much ... it has the lightest texture and i almost don't even feel it on my skin although it provides an extremely amazing coverage. It smells wonderful and it never went cakey ( i have very dry skin and sometimes even a thin layer of foundation can look cakey because of micro-exfoliation ), it also never oxidized on my skin, its color remains true to what is in the bottle. It has an extremely natural finish, i don't even powder with this foundation!
I dearly recommend this to everyone, tho if you have oily skin you will need to put a powder on top probably and if you have blemishes to cover i don't know how if this will just do the trick of concealing everything perfectly so you might have to test it out before venturing in buying it.
Hope this helped.
I got a tester from the store, 107 Beige, and so far I adore this foundation. We'll see. My daughter bought it and I am amazed (lightest color for her) at the staying power of this product. The price is outrageous however. The sample size is generous so we'll see how I feel at the end of the week and will report back as to whether or not I decide it is well worth the purchase price.
I really like this foundation. I've recently been on the hunt for a better foundation. My skin is dry and reactive and gets red therefore I wanted a foundation offering good coverage for a long time. I tried double wear which I really didn't like however this foundation is really good. It gives medium coverage and lasts a good while ( I am writing this after wearing it during a night shift). It was impressive that it still had good coverage after a long period of time. Skin was matte but slightly dewy which I liked. I did apply a little powder! Ask your clarins consultant to try before you buy, you will be impressed!
Great foundation. Will buy again, and again and again!
Covers red immediately
Feels lightweight on face
Medium coverage, buildable
Lasts about 10 hours
Doesn't leave noticable "mask lines"
Wide range of shades available
Nice, satiney finish.
Good price for size of bottle
Needs a primer to blend properly
Has a lovely scent BUT scent is not a good idea for sensitive skin
Does not cover blackheads or dark undereye spots
several years ago i was a happy owner of Clarins Everlasting foundation and decided to give a try to other Clarins products... how big was my (unpleasant) surprise when my skin protested against two of them-this one and the BB cream! I wrote a review on BB cream already, now on to this one:
the texture is very easy and pleasant to apply, it absorbs quickly, doesn't leave any streaks, etc BUT it gave me an immediate allergic reaction even though my skin almost never reacts to anything! I got an itching, burning, red face within minutes! also, it has alcohol in it and, therefore, can be quite drying...
to be objective, if you DON'T have an allergic reaction, you might enjoy the smooth application, nice smell and a decent medium coverage but after the same reaction happened to my skin after 2 Clarins products in a row, I am beginning to wonder about what ingredients they use...
Glass packaging meaning the foundation will spoil when in contact with light. Seriously reduces lifetime of the foundation.
Not as light as hoped, quite heavy. Doesn't keep oiliness at bay. Coverage what you would expect.
Strange formula really.
Scented, which is bad for skin.
When I had a really awful breakout (thank you Clinique) I was turned to this stuff off a wim. The ladies were so helpful and looked up each product to ensure that everything I purchased was oil free. While I'm not much educated about the chemicals in this foundation, I will say it helped clear my breakout with a good concealer and setting powder (I use loreal true match and loreal hydramatte loose powder) it makes my skin look like satin. It lasts all day I don't get shiny and I use the same shade year round (with a bronzer in summer). One bottle lasts me at least 9-12 months and a little goes a long way. I've been using this for 3+years and it has never made me breakout. I love this and cannot switch to anything else bc results do not measure up. I am a clarins loyalist love their skin care makeup everything. I highly recommend this to anyone with troubled skin bc the ingredients are natural but not RAW so it won't irritate you.
I absolutely adore this foundation. It's quite expensive ($42+tax, which here, is 13%, bringing it to almost $50!), but definitely worth it. The packaging impressed me with the heavy glass bottle and gold-coloured top, but it has a pump, which is nice. However this also means it is terrible to get out of the bottle when you run out, although there's loads in there, just that the pump can't reach. Nonetheless... amazing product.
The coverage, although medium, provides a very pretty look. I have many blemishes, and this foundation just makes my skin look absolutely gorgeous. I wear the shade 105 Nude, and it's perfect. I wear this with a concealer and a powder, and it stays in place most of my 6 hour school day, which I can appreciate very much. I was going to repurchase this today, actually, but they don't sell it where I live. I've settled for the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation.. hopefully it can meet the high standards that this foundation has set. :)
After using this foundation for several months, I've concluded that I will try others due to the color. I expect to have difficulty finding something better. I purchased the lightest color available, 104 Cream with 01 mineral powder and 02 stick concealer. (Laura Mercier's Porcelain Ivory was a better color match for me.) I have a few minor lines and wrinkles, and this foundation doesn't draw attention to them. It doesn't make my pores look bigger unless I use a sunscreen underneath. When applied normally, it's hard to tell I'm wearing foundation even up close, and the coverage was better than expected (medium). The finish isn't shiny and I can skip the powder if I want. The packaging quality and smell were nice. I thought the color 104 was a bit too brownish for my fair skin, and the color of the matching concealer wasn't effective enough at making me look less tired. I will definitely use this foundation/concealer until I run out, but I will be on the hunt for a better color. UPDATE: I found out that this foundation is available in 103 Ivory, which is a lighter color. I purchased it, but it doesn't have the natural "skin illusion" look that 104 had. It might be too light or something about the color is off.
Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation is too drying, even thought they say it is light. Also by the way this Clarins foundation is shockingly Full Of Chemicals. titanium dioxide has been linked to cancer. Therefore I think it is best to avoid these chemicals. In the US we are also exposed to this dangerous chemical however literally putting it on my face, I felt unwell afterwards,.
My friend has recommended Lavera Foundation with Flower Liposomes. Really a beautiful silky foundation oh and the big plus it is Organic and has NO chemicals like in Clarins Skin Illusion.
There is also a company I am thinking of trying out that is Beauty without Cruelty, sounds really good and it s Organic...really cool
Let me know what you guys think.
