My acne is only mild, but my skin scars very easily and so my acne appears much worse than it actually is. I've been using this product for about three weeks. I've seen a remarkable reduction in the amount of new blemishes that form, and my scars seem to be fading. However, I've noticed that now when I DO get any pimples, they are these intensely painful ones that lurk beneath my skin without coming to a head-- I believe they are cysts. Before using this face wash, cysts were very rare for me. And although I only seem to be getting two or three of them a week, it's still disappointing that this face wash seems to be causing them. They don't scar once they've passed, and so I suppose it's worth it to continue using the product because nothing else has helped my scars quite like this. I hate the packaging, though; too much product comes out, and the lid is surprisingly difficult to close completely.

I bought this product yesterday (6-11-13). But I barely tried it today. I like it already. Now I just have to wait for the results(: I think they are going to be good. My skin is so oily when i wake up. So that's when I washed my face & it was soo soft & it looks glowy!

So, apparently this has a new formula which I think is worth trying even if you used it before it changed.

It's absolutely amazing for the price. I work in fast food and I've found my skin has been really bad since I started, bumps and pimples all along my jaw line. And they're not nice and easy to pop, no, they're hard and white and won't budge. I tried this stuff at a friend's house one night when I had a really bad breakout on my jaw line and the next morning you wouldn't have known that my acne was such a point of stress. The bigger ones were much smaller and less red and the smaller ones were nearly completely gone.
I went out to Walmart to buy my own and the acne marks and spot lotion, they were both the same price at $6.47 which wasn't that bad. I've been using it every night for 3 nights now and any new pimples are shrinking, white heads are gone, and the redness is down. It works really well overnight, but it seems to take a little time to go away completely. I had a couple that I tried popping that just bled and I was afraid would leave scars, but even they don't look that bad. I have really high hopes for this.

The only con I can see is that it's very drying, but I have a special moisturizer from my dermatologist that I use after washing. If you have dry skin, maybe only use this in the specific areas where you're breaking out.

(NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE NEW FORMULA)
Contrary to the majority of previous reviews, I really like this product! The breakouts people are experiencing, if they've used the new formula, are most probably due to the two clays that are second on the ingredients list. But I love that they make up such a large part of the formulation, along with Niacinamide, which doesn't appear too much further down the list and is a Bingo! for spots and the marks they leave behind.
My skin has vastly improved with Clearasil products, I'm usually a high-end junkie but was getting fed up with being an oil slick and spots appearing every day. Trust me, I've tried everything from both the chemical and the natural world of skin care, the oil cleansing method left me in a hot mess.
I use this particular wash in the mornings only, sometimes leaving it on as a mask if I have the time, and it makes my skin look instantly clearer and calmer without drying it out. I follow up with a light moisturiser and am all set for makeup application :)

used every last bit of this product (as in I cut open the tube with scissors--I do this with every product, you end up throwing away a lot of product and money if you don't!) so I can honestly say it did not work for me or do a thing for my acne marks, which are almost always my problem. I get a zit or two and usually get impatient and pop em and am left with spots that I have to conceal every day, it's maddening. I never really thought my skin was sensitive in the way that some people can't use 2% salicylic acid. infact, I go for this when I'm looking at acne products (benzoyl peroxide has never worked for me). I ran out of a concealer with 0.5% SA and was so happy to find one with 1.6% (went from revlon to almay incase anyone was wondering). most acne face moisturizers have 1% SA, so to get the "most" SA effects would be from a 2% facial cleanser. I've since learned since buying this not to go looking for anything specifically for acne marks. SA works by exfoliating layers of skin faster. if you want to rid yourself of any skin discoloration you need a product with vitamin C, a kind of glycolic peel, and/or retin-A. anyways, this wash was nothing special. near the end of it, I got the cetaphil gentle face wash because I remembered it worked really well for me 3 years ago and I thought it might again. when I decided I should finish up the clearasil product, my face felt irritated and itchy, and when I washed it off and patted my face dry, I had two small but noticable welts under my left eye, like right on the top of the cheekbone. didn't mind pitching that in the trash. it didn't improve my skin and in the end it hurt me. only reason I gave it 2 instead of 1 stars is because along with the cetaphil, I wanted to try something new so I got (and immediately returned) neutrogena's dupe of the cetaphil gentle cleanser. why? because whenever I rinsed and patted, my face felt terribly dry. at least the clearasil left my skin smooth. but that's barely a reason to give this cleanser any more of my time.

I have very dry, sensitive skin and this cleanser left me with red patches and peeling skin. I reduced the amount I used it to only a few times a week and still had this effect. Definitely not for me.

I usually read reviews before I buy something but I needed a cleanser that was going to get rid of my dark marks since Neutrogena's Redness Reducing Cream Cleanser has done it's duty well with my complexion after 3 tubes. I was in a rush and this was the first thing I grabbed.
I read the ingredients when I got home and I thought "the less ingredients the better" so I washed my face the first time. It took my makeup off well with my Olay ProX Cleansing Brush my face was pretty tight. Woke up there was a flare up and didn't think there was a big deal thought my pores were bringing the junk up to the epidermis.
After a week or so using this, I hate it. Absolutely hate it, I swear when I used my mom's cleanser it stopped flaring up. And now I have these patches of redness and they itched. I'm breaking out again. It undid what neutrogena did when I thought it was going to help get rid of my scars. :(
Only pro is, it smelled good but for a mask it was really runny.
I paid attention to the usage of this cleanser, and it didn't work. I should be attaching of what my face looks like after this cleanser. But I will be returning this to WalMart.
Thumbs down, avoid at all costs. and if anyone has a suggestion for a cleanser for helping get rid of acne scars hit me up!

HORRIBLE! Bought this in the hopes that this would help prevent my acne and get rid of some scarring (ha!). I've been using this for about a month now and have only seen one difference in my skin thus far.... I've gotten MORE breakouts! I definitely won't be buying this again, and I really don't think I'll continue to use it!

It dried out my skin. Didn't see any improvement for my acne.

The product was good at first, but after they changed the formula it's great. I've used a lot of acne treatments but this is the only one that effectively clears my scars and acne. Along with the occasional usage of the Vanishing Acne Treatment cream, but skin is now spotless. Clearasil is the best thing that's ever happened to my skin.
