Definitely not. This shampoo is advertised to mend split ends, which made me skeptical, but it was recommended to me so I gave it a shot. What a disappointment. This made my fine, wavy hair into a coarse, matted mess that was impossible to detangle. I continued using it for a few weeks to see if anything would change, but it was just terrible. After a while, my hair started to feel like straw. That has never happened with any other shampoo. I was surprised at how bad this was on my hair, especially considering the price. I may have had a particularly bad experience, but I definitely wouldn't buy this again or recommend it to anyone, especially with fine hair.

I used to straighten and blow dry my hair pretty much on a daily basis. I was in a desperate search to find a shampoo and conditioner that would get rid of my split ends as much as possible. My aunt suggested Nexxus to me, so I decided to take her advice and buy the shampoo and conditioner. I'm glad I listened because it's now one of my favourite shampoos ever! My hair started feeling more and more healthier, thicker and stronger. It also smelt amazing and lathered well. I was sad when the bottle finally finished (it lasted quite a while by the way.) and I'm definetly going to buy some more as soon as possible

A few months ago, my hair went insane. Crazy tangles, dry, just basically gross. I slowly inched my way up the shampoo price ladder, from head&shoulders, to that organix stuff in the cute little bottles, but my sister started calling me "hermione granger" because it was getting so frizzy and tangled. Desperate, I went to ulta after work, and bought this, along with mop pear detangler, the pro-mend overnight treatment, and aveeno conditioner. I absolutely could not believe how much nicer my hair was the next morning. And it just kept getting better!!! It's shiny, it's silky, I don't fantasize about getting a pixie cut anymore! I think the overnight treatment helps seal the split ends, but I think this really helps clean my hair without causing any more damage, which is great because otherwise I would end up mending the same splits multiple times. The first time I used it it felt a teensy bit harsh, but it felt less harsh than anything else I tried for the the entire month previous. It's a little pricey , but if you like having long hair during winter, it's totally worth it to fix all those scarf Induced snarls. continued >>

The ONLY thing that helps split ends is a pair of scissors....I didn't like the scent of this and it left my hair feeling very very dry, so much so that I rewashed it and put in a deep conditioner for a couple of hours.

I just picked up my very own collection of the new Nexxus Pro-mend. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment just to give it a try. I have very bad split ends and haven't seen a change in length of my hair in a while so instead of cutting off what little I have as it is I decided to give this product a try. Over all I would give it a 5 for satisfaction; I seen a change in my hair as soon as I ran my fingers through it once i was out of the shower. It you have split ends and want to start growing your hair longer I would totally recommend this product. Your hair won't grow fast without healthy ends! It's not TOO expensive but still well-worth the price.

Best shampoo and conditioner I've ever used, and I've tried many: cheap, expensive, "cleansing conditioners", you name it..! My hair is fine, straight, and highlighted, and it tends to look a little dry around the ends between cuts. The very first time I used this I was blown away at how great my hair looked and how silky and manageable it was. It was even easier to style. I couldn't stop touching it! I'm so happy to have found this, and I fully recommend you try it if you have split ends or are trying to grow you hair longer.

One comment.....weighed my already lifeless hair way down. No matter how much product i put in it, I couldn't get any volume. I will be returning this....

So, when I first tried this, I loved it. My hair, which is processed, colored, dry and fragile, was silky and it arranged itself quite nicely if i let it air dry. My ends are always a bit frazzled looking, even though I get them chopped regularly. I started using this after I got a trim, and I feel like it helped keep them neat and tidy longer than they normally would be.
My hairdresser also commented that my ends were neater than they normally were, and I could hold off on a trim for another few weeks.
This lasted through the first two bottles. On my third bottle, (when I introduced an argan oil product into my regimen), it felt like there was still a lot of residue in my hair, even if I shampooed twice or even three times. My hair was pretty dull and always felt ever-so-slightly tacky (which is just gross) so I finally broke down and got a clarifying shampoo, which I desperately needed.
If you have dry hair in which you don't use a lot of oils or oily products I think this will work, and well. But it's such a mild shampoo, it can't handle much more than a day or two's natural buildup.
I liked this for a while, but I like what the argan oil does more, so I won't buy it again.

I tried a sample of this product, together with the conditioner. It didn't make my ends look fresh cut. What it did was make my hair super fluffy. I haven't been able to achieve lift from the crown like this since Redken killed their Glypro line. And I did it without gel, too. It lasted for several hours. The shampoo smells like milled soap, and the conditioner smells faintly of caramel. The shampoo is rather strongly scented, while the conditioner's fragrance is very mild. Somehow the two scents layer very nicely together to form a sweet melange. I'll definitely be trying this product line out again.

I have fine, dry hair that is full of split ends. This product left my hair feeling even drier and heavy with product. I definitely did not see an improvement in the looks of my split ends.

This product did not work for my hair. I have very fine/thin slightly wavy hair with lots of broken hairs/ flyaways. I don't really have split ends, so I'm not sure why I tried this. Probably because one of my friends who has long curly hair with split ends loves it. I think the scent is very strong and obnoxious/cheap smelling, but I was willing to put up with it if the product helped my hair. It did not. I really don't think it made my hair any better of worse.

i was once again very excited by this product but what a disappointment. Does it work? No. I washed my hair, gave it time and after two more washings it just didn't feel great. I don't even think it cleaned my hair. The adverstisment said it was going to make my hair feel like i just got cut. Now it feels like it needs to get cut if that makes sense. It does not make my hair soft. I wanted to see the split end binding together no difference. Go back to the drawing board nexxus!

I really like this shampoo. I have super dry hair but an oily scalp. I have to shampoo everyday so I have been looking for something that does not dry my hair out. This shampoo really softens my hair. It does not leave it tangled or matted up. I still need a conditioner after though. I did not like the matching conditioner. I use Terax Crema and my hair is the best it has looked in a long time. It has really helped with the dryness of my hair. I know it is this shampoo that has helped because it is the only thing I have changed in my hair routine. It does not build up or make my hair greasy. I do not believe their claim that it fixes split ends. I don't believe there is a product that does fix split ends though. However, regardless of what it claims to do, i will continue to use and repurchase because it just works so well for my hair type.

I'm really not sure if I actually WOULD buy this product again, but I put yes because I wanted to say that I WOULD buy it if it wasn't so expensive. It's a good shampoo that suds well, smells good and I feel like it cleans well...but it's also between $8 and $9 at Walmart, and I believe there are other shampoos that do just as well for less. I do NOT believe it helps with split ends, though, as the company would like you to believe. I bought the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in and have not seen ANY improvement besides simply average results. Still, the shampoo was the best buy of the 3.

I bought this along with the conditioner and had very high hopes. The shampoos smells nice and has a thick creamy texture so I assumed that my hair would be nicely moisturized after but I was wrong. The shampoo was likely not the problem so much as the conditioner though because when I rinsed the shampoo out, my hair did feel smooth. But once I used the conditioner and rinsed it out, a very different story...it felt like it had build-up and a tacky almost sticky texture. As for it's claims to temporarily seal split ends, um a big no on that!

I am clueless why this product is in the market. This with the conditioner manage to make your hair feel and look like plastic strings. Did it mend? Nope. Did my hair look like freshly cut? H-e-l-l NO. I do not recommend this at all.

I loved this system of products. It repaired my split ends and left my hair feeling silky smooth. After four or five uses, it really did feel like I had just gotten a hair cut!

I received a sample of the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner and loved it! The samples were enough for two washes and both times it left my hair silky and shiny.
Came with a $3 coupon I'll be using to pick it up!

Price: Nexxus isn't too bad when it comes to price. $10-$13 for 13.5 fl. oz is a pretty good deal for a high-end shampoo, in my opinion. Plus, they offer samples, so you can tell whether or not you want to spend the cash.
Packaging: Nexxus bottles remind me of weird... potion bottles. I honestly like the bottles, the font, and the push-tabs, but they can be kinda boring. Other than that, they're made of super-tough plastic which can make getting the product out a little difficult, but it's not too bad.
Consistency: This shampoo is thick and cloudy, which I love. It's a pearlescent, whitish color. It feels smooth, and you know it's gonna go on smooth.
Scent: Sweet, refreshing, and almost smells like cookies! Yummy! Totally not expected from such a cosmetic brand. It doesn't linger much, though. I don't really mind.
Ingredients: The good sounding stuff- coconut oil, keratin, jasmine, etc.- is at the bottom of the list. (I'm glad the keratin is at the bottom, though. I get scared when there's too much protein in my hair products. Crunchy! Yikes! ><') Strange, considering this shampoo works SO DANG WELL. I don't know what it is about the top of the list that's so awesome, but it works!
Performance: This shampoo doesn't strip my hair AT ALL. It lathers up nicely, cleanses well, rinses with relative ease, and preps my hair for conditioning.
Overall: I'm not so sure if this stuff by itself would help split ends without its conditioner counterpart. It's a soft, non-harsh shampoo, but conditioner is always necessary for fighting splits anyway. Check out the Pro Mend conditioner review (when I write it)! continued >>
