Unfortunately, I have a very narrow face with flat cheeks, so although this blush is a lovely shade of medium pink for my NW15 skin, in the light it looks like a stripe of glitter. As if I took a cream highlighter and literally painted a stripe onto my cheeks.
I feel like this would be stunning on someone with rounder cheeks, so I will be trying it on some of my friends. But the literal stripe of glitter look just isn't for me. :-)
I had no issues with pigmentation that other reviewers mention. I am NC20 and it gave a nice even pink tone, but holy sparkles batman! No shimmer on me. It was huge gold flecks. At my age I just don't feel comfortable with it personally, but I'll be giving it to my 17yr neice. It felt nice and blendable but just not for me.
This is my every day "go to" color. I have fair skin, freckles, and dry cheeks. A little goes a long way and it lasts all day on top of my foundation. It does not turn into a funky shade or orange later nor does it slide around on my face. There is a little sparkle to it but it isn't so glittery that it looks like I should be wearing rainbows and unicorn accessories.
I recently gave up on cream blushes because I do not have time for crap to slide around on my face. I got on MakeupAlley and read the reviews for the Milani Baked Blushes and hot diggity dog they were on sale at CVS. I bought a few shades but this one is my favorite for day wear.
I really do like this blush. It's very shimmery and I feel like you can't go wrong with a shade like this. I use a pretty heavy hand and build up the color so I could see how some people wouldn't be pleased with the color payoff. After I've built the color I do enjoy the look. It's very natural. It doesn't last all day though, and leaves my boyfriend very sparkly ^_^;
I was SO disappointed in this product. I literally was reading reviews on MUA as I stood in front of the Milani display attempting to chose a color. I already have a good peachy blush, so I passed on the Luminoso and bought this one. Junk. I am a pretty fair-skinned girl, and this product did not show up on me at all. I take that back: the shimmer sort of showed up, in that it made it look like I have huge pores on my cheeks (which I do not). Also, I looked down on my bathroom counter after having tried applying & re-applying with my blush brush, and YIKES, the stuff was everywhere. It was as big a mess as with loose mineral make-up. This stuff went everywhere. Bottom line, no color payoff whatsoever and a big mess. I would not recommend.
So beautiful in the pan but sadly on me it was hideous. Dolce Pink is more suited for cool toned women not us warm toned gals. It pulled so red on me I looked like I had a sunburn. Not to mention the pigmentation SUCKED. I don't know how many times I had to apply it to get a light color, and I'm like ghost pale, so it shocked me how little the pigmentation is. If any of you guys are interested in buying the Milani Baked Blushes, buy Luminoso. My goodness, now that is a beautiful color on pale girls.
Shade description: golden pink
- long wearing
- applies well
- very glittery
- poor color payoff
Comments: This is a very shimmery blush. I find that I get more shimmer than I do color. It stays put, but the color payoff isn't there and the finish is very overwhelming. Nothing but gold specks everywhere.
Will not repurchase.
I absolutely adore this blush. It's one of my most reached for blushes in my (extensive) blush collection. I'm NW20 in MAC (neutral leaning cool with a fair complexion). I usually tend more towards pinks in blushes rather than peach because peach has a tendency to pull very orange on me.
On my skin this actually imparts a bit of peach but just the right amount. Too much more and it would be orange-y. It does have quite a bit of shimmer. But since I tend to layer this over a cream blush I just focus most of the product high up on the cheek and use it to double as a highlighter. I find that coupled with a light hand keeps this from being over-the-top. I also find that the majority of the shimmer is in the first tap. So I am careful about where that goes. And then I buff out the rest of it, keeping it high up on the cheeks. Since I already have a pink "flush" from the cream blush this works absolutely beautifully. I also find that the combination of cream blush with this keeps my cheeks looking rosy and highlighted all day long.
Huge fan of this product!
This is the PERFECT pink. Other reviews have been saying is was a glitter ball.. I tap off my access product and actually don't have any glitter on my cheeks. If I did not do that then there would be glitter (if I was going for that look).
Very soft pink. Very beautiful.
Behind Milani's blush in luminoso this one is my next favorite! It's such a pretty pink rose-y color and gives such a natural flushed look that it's perfect for any season. There is shimmer in it but does not bother me in the slightest. If gives the face a natural glow and sits lightly on the skin and lasts all day! Definitely my fall back blush
