I live in Toronto and they sell products by Mary Ginseng House at my local organic grocery store. They have a whole line of products but so far I have only tried the soap.
Anyway, down to my soap review. I bought a small square soap (~35 grams) for $5. I was skeptical but I thought it was worth a shot. For my acne-prone, sensitive skin, I must say this soap is superior to any other facial soap I have tried. I have tried Clinique's mild liquid soap, Avene's Cleanance, Purpose, Clean & Clear, Tersaseptic, among others. I always tried to steer clear of "soap" because they say soap is bad to use on facial skin. I have tossed this rule out the window, along with another commonly held belief that acne-prones should stay away from oils (I use jojoba to remove my makeup without any problems).
This ginseng bar removes all of my mineral makeup (even if I don't pre-cleanse with oil) without drying out my skin. It is gentle and I highly recommend it. It also smells great, at least to me.
I discovered this brand at the CNE this past summer. I was having a bad breakout at the time. The SA let me put 3 of their products on my pimples. They seemed to work really well. Maybe it is TMI for some people but I had 2 large pus-filled pimples when I applied the products and they popped b/c of facial movements over the day. By the evening they were healing. This line is next on my list of products to try.
For those interested in pH, the pH of this soap is 6.5 which is slightly more alkaline than our natural pH of 5.5.
