Neutrogena facial care products work really well for my skin and this is no different. I use it at night after washing my face and in the morning under my foundation. It hydrates without adding extra oil and has helped to clear up my skin and make it look more fresh. In my opinion $10 is a lot for some lotion but it works well so I will definitely repurchase.
I break out from everything and I've been using this religiously for about 2 weeks without a single incident. It's no frills, just a simple moisturizer. Goes on nicely and is lightweight. I don't think it has SPF so you may want to consider that.
I use this product almost exclusively at night before bed (no SPF for the daytime), and I love how it feels on my skin. I wash my face with Neutrogena Acne Wash (the grapefruit one), and afterward my skin just drinks up this moisturizer. As the label suggests, I have combination skin that's prone to breakouts, and this product is just exactly what I wanted - a simple oil-free moisturizer, no bells or whistles.
The reason I'm not giving it 5/5 is that I'm not so sure about that oil-control claim. My face still feels pretty oily when I wake up in the morning, no more than when I use no product, but no less either.
I will almost definitely buy this product again.
I have sensitive, combination, and acne-prone skin (hurray) so I'm always afraid to try a new moisturizer. I'm going back to school so I've been hunting for more affordable drugstore products.
I broke out the first week or two when I switched over to this product, but now my skin is loving this moisturizer and hasn't broke out in two months of use. It's light and is great for my skin. This said, it may not be ideal for those with dry skin who need something heavier. Very affordable (about $11 CDN at Walmart) and the packaging is ideal (I don't like sticking my fingers in a tub of cream, I prefer pump dispensers) and doesn't feel cheap. I'll definitely be buying this again.
This does nothing for my combo skin personally.
The texture is ok, light, not the best absorbing but not the worst.
It goes on my T-Zone very wet, makes my fresh, dry, cleansed face look shiny. I couldn't imagine wearing this over sunscreen, it would look the end of a hot sweaty day first thing in the morning.
It might be an alright moisturizer for dry skin but.. it's supposed to control oil.
I'm using it at night to get rid of it,
My skin is sensitive, oily and I get the occasional breakout. For some reason, I've had dry patches around my nose lately. I wanted a moisturizer that wouldn't break me out, cause irritation, or make my face look like an oil slick.
I tried this moisturizer because it doesn't have any oil, perfume, or suncreens (I have sunscreen in my foundation). It comes in a nice pump dispenser, and it feels very light. I apply a little on my dry patches after I wash my face. It soaks in quickly and makes the dry patches softer. Also, foundation doesn't cake up on the dry spots anymore.
If you need a little bit of moisture for sensitive combo skin, this is a great product for the price.
I really, really want to like this moisturizer, but it's not doing very good things to my skin. It hasn't affected my breakouts at all and I do find that it does help control oil (more than I was expecting, actually) but my skin has become so dry it's ridiculous. There are probably other factors adding to it, but it's definitely not moisturizing enough to cope with the dry air, hormonal changes, etc. There are probably people who this will work for, but I personally can't use this. My skin is just a wreck and moisturizers should help with that, and this simply isn't.
Yeah, no. I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this lotion. I got it on sale at Shoppers Drugmart for $10.99 which fits my budget, unlike my usual Avene product at $32.99. I have normal-dry skin, skin prone to clogging (due to cetyl alcohol) and while this moisturizer doesn't have it, I still got some white heads by day 4. On top of that, my dryish cheeks got SUPER dry and tight feeling by the 4th day, while my normal t-zone just started to look dull.
I think this may be best suited for oily skin. Anyone on the slightly dry side will find this not moisturizing enough. I'm glad I saved my receipt so I can take it back and get my usual Avene moisturizer. I will not buy this again.
When I first found this product I was stoked because I had been searching for an oily skin moisturiser for so long. The next morning I cleansed my face with my usual (cetaphil) cleanser then went to try my brand spankin' new toy!
Words cannot express how DISAPPOINTED I was. The texture was so watery, it smelled like plastic and when I put it on it made my skin feel tight - as if I'd put on a really thin layer of latex.
Also, my skin gets very VERY oily around my nose and I found that it did absolutely nothing for it. It was honestly as though I'd never even put anything on. And as for putting make-up over it (both liquid and mineral powder) no luck.
So no, this definitely was not for me, which was disappointing to say the least - so I've replaced it with the 'Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturiser' which has been great so far; with a bonus of being an SPF 15.
I am breaking out so I switched to lighter moisturizers at least for now. I like this one. No bells and whistles, but who cares. It doesn't break me out. It adds a bit of moisture. I am using to using a lot of lotion and cream, so this is new to me. I don't know why beautipedia gives it such a bad rating. Who cares if it has no anti-oxidants. You can use a serum under it. No oil is plus for me. Oils can break me out. I use it on my arms too where I get KP and them something heavier on the rough spots. I love cerave but not on my face.
