The color payoff on the back of my hand was great- it's a kind of darker grape with purple glitter. However, I was extremely disappointed with the color payoff on the waterline, and it did pull and skip a bit on my upper lid. The waterproof claim seems to be true, I haven't been able to smudge the swatches on my hand, even with a wet finger. The packaging is really light and plastic-y, the cap is on there too snug and I feel like if I tried I could easily break it. Also, I really wish it came with a sharpener on the other end.

I love this product! It's soft, goes on smoothly, and is waterproof. This is a beautiful color but I think the product is great in general. I don't like that you only get .01 oz of product especially for the price. Other than that, I highly recommend!

First off, I really like this eyeliner. It is easy to put on and it stays on pretty well. The only major drawback, and the reason I'll try to return this, is that it leaves an oily film on my contacts like another reviewer mentioned. When it happened the first time, I thought the contacts had a problem. Now that it's happening again, and the eyeliner is the only new product I've been wearing, I'm pretty sure this is it. Pity.

I got this in my January Birchbox and was excited to use an eyeliner other than black which I haven't done since high school. The color is a very dark purple - almost black with noticeable glitter. It is really pretty on brown eyes but it was a nightmare on my contact lenses. The product somehow seeps into my eyes leaving an oily, uncomfortable film on them, and I didn't even use this on my water line. I also dont think the staying power is very good at all.

This is the BEST eyeliner I've ever had, especially for being automatic and smudge proof. First time ever I've applied tight-line eyeliner in the morning, and its still there after work. My new holy grail eyeliner

I thought it was going to be a more noticeable purple, but its almost black. Staying power wan't all that maybe 4-5 hours max even with primer on myl lids. If you want a brighter long staying purple, try MAC Rich Purple.

Gorgeous purple. I don't know why I've never tried these eyeliners before. All of the Smudge Sticks are beautiful. Although I love the color, I wouldn't necessarily purchase it again because I don't wear purple that often.

I've heard about the smudgesticks for a while and have been wanting to try them and bit the bullet one day and bought the purple tang because I already have black and brown everything else and just wanted to try a little color. I have brown eyes and purples work really well for me. I love the self-sharpening aspect of these. It went on easily and smooth. The color is very dark and you almost can't tell it's purple until you see it in the right light. It really made the color of my eyes pop and my the whites even look a bit whiter. Definitely stayed on for several hours without smudging. I'm hoping to use this for my wedding in May. I may try some more of the other colors too!

This is almost perfect. It really doesn't budge once you apply it and the color is really pigmented. I usually stick to liquid eyeliner but this is dark enough to look like liquid. The color is very dark purple shimmer. The only down side with this Stila formula is that it hurts or feels uncomfortable on the water line because of the shimmer. But on the lids, it works great. Will definitely repurchase.

I agree somewhat with the previous poster re: color (great with my brown eyes!) but I tried this head-to-head with MUF's Aqua Eyes in Black Purple 6L ($17 vs. $20 for this Stila product) and found that while this was smoother and more precise going on, this color wasn't as pretty on my eyes (slightly less intense - more matte, I suppose). More importantly this Stila liner started to migrate to the crease of my lid in an hour and I'm not a oily-lid gal while the MUF liner didn't budge for 6+ hours (no primer used in this unofficial trial). So this one went back to Sephora & the MUF stayed home with me.

Love this liner. It is my new fave eyeliner. The color is a dark blue-violet with shimmer and it looks great as a thick liner or even smudged. It's truly waterproof and when it sets it does not move. I could use this everyday in place of black and brown lienrs because it makes my dark brown eyes pop and it's dark enough to be a neutral color. It is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. I love the fact that this is an automatic liner so I don't have to use a sharpener. I will gladly repurchase when I run out of this one. Love, love, love!
