bought this lip tint when it first came out, it was sort of a natural dark rose colour. It was way too dark compared to the cap colour, it dried out my lips so badly as well as barely lasting! I didn't eat or drink all day bar a few sips of tea and it was off! And you know what the worst thing about it is?? It's the fact that it dries out after a week!!! hardly any tint came out, so I stored it facing downwards so the tint ran down to the nib for a week and still barely lip tint came out, bone dry!!! I love Max Factor products but this tint pen is a total let down and huge waste of money!

I love lip tints in general, and there's a big range at Max Factor, but this 'pen' seemed dry from the beginning - it's hard to get nice and even coverage. I hope they refine a brush technology instead.

This is a review on 06 (think it's called Royal Plum)
The only lipstain I have ever used is Benetint, and unfortunately I'm running out, so I decided to go for something a little different. Royal Plum 06 I think is a very deceiving name; plum suggests that the colour should be... well... plummy - y'know, sort of purple-ish. But it's not. It comes out on my lips a dark-blood red. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but maybe they should rename it, because even the tube is purple-ish.
Anyway... The colour, when it comes out on my lips, is a lovely, rich, dark-blood red. I give it a minute or two to stain my lips and then use a dampened cotton bud to get rid of the excess colour, and it leaves behind a nice matte red light stain.
Personally, I think more colour should soak in, so it won't transfer as much and last longer, and that way less would be wasted on transfer or in my case, removal. Also it tastes like candy; I made the mistake of licking my lips and managed to make my teeth go pink for a minute, which was scary stuff haha!
I think the lasting time is a bit pants, to be honest, the stain lasted longer on my hand when I tested it than it did on my lips. I washed my hands thoroughly with soap about 5 times before the stain was gone from my skin, whereas the stain was gone from my lips in a matter of a few hours, with minimal lip licking, eating etc - leaving behind the dreaded Red Ring of Shame (red stain left around the outside of the lips, but inside of lips red-free)!
The stain also grabs hold of dry skin and stains it even darker. I had one teeny tiny patch of dry skin on my lower lip and it SHOWED :O.
I would suggest to all if they're going to buy this stain to definitely wear a lipbalm over it to keep your lips soft and supple.
There is no way in hell I would wear this outside on its own without a red lipstick over the top; I use it as a fantastic base for my MAC lipstick Lady Bug. On it's own, it's too unpredictable and I don't trust it...
Sorry, gorgeous people, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone :(
Hugs x

Great product. I don't wear lipstick but I love this lip lint. Doesn't feel like I have anything on which is a plus for me. It lasts a full working day for me too.
It can make your lips dry just a little bit but I always use Vaseline anyway which solves the problem.

I bought the 03 which is a bright pink. When I first tried it on I was very happy. The colour was very vibrant and stayed on my lips for hours. The smell is ok but it tastes nasty. I drank and ate and it still stayed on which is a plus. Unfortunately my lips felt very dry after only wearing it for an hour or so. But one week later the product was completely dried out and there's hardly any colour coming out of it anymore. Too bad because I wanted to buy the red one too.

Unfortunately, I was left pretty dissapointed with this product. I'm usually a big fan of max factor products, so thought I would try the lip tint pen, as I have tried another pen in the past, and was also left dissapointed . Like the avon one I initally tried, the pen is very dry and expells almost no colour at all. after swiping across my lips a number of times, you get a slight hint of colour at best- certainly not the impact they portray in the adverts! It is also quite drying on the lips, so during winter months its quite uncomfortable. Its a shame, as I love the idea of applying a pen to stain the lips, but I am still looking for a pen that can sucessfully do this. The staying power is average, you get few hours wear, but certainly no better that a half decent lipstick. I will be going back to unsing my lip pencils for a matte, longer lasting colour!

I saw that they recently made a red lip stain and i was super excited to try it.
I tried it out at Boots, and oh my God, im so happy i didnt buy it prior to trying it.
I tried Red Passion and here are the reasons why i hated it:
1) Staying power: NONE.
2) It claims to be kissproof, i kissed my hand to test it, transfers like a bitch.
3) it stays in the lip lines, resulting in making your lips multicolored.
4) if you drink or eat, smoke or simply lick your lips, the color fades and you have pink lips.
Do not buy! Revlon's Just Bitten is way better.

I was really disappointed by this product. I love the lipfinity lipsticks, but this lip tint has nothing in common with them. I have the shade 04 which looks beautiful on the lips. Turns into a nice matte vibrant red. The tint gets into the outer layer of skin on your lips and that's why it shouldn't smudge and is supposed to last a long time. However, the way this tint works is the reason why I don't like it. It's very drying and looks horrible on damaged lips like mine. I have dry lips and this lipstick tends to set into the recently healed parts of my lips, where the skin is thinner. So my lips look like they are bleeding! Since it's water based, if you drink anything, it's completely gone. It doesn't really last that long. The only way this lip tint works is as a lip liner. It really stays on this part of your lips.

I bought the number 80 which is a brownish pinkish tea.
Literally lasts 2 minutes.
Has a sick sweet taste.
Looks like a felt pen you can get from the dollar store.
Overpriced cheap product.
Really disappointed.

I was looking for my favourite shade of Lipfinity (the classic one), but couldn't find it. The shop assistant told me this to be even better, staying longer on the lips. Wrong. I bought quite a dark shade, I liked the matte look. But it won't withstand even one kiss! When wearing Lipfinity it stays on for hours (9 to 5 at least) but this was half gone after 30 minutes.
I like the smell and I the applicator is fun, it's like drawing on my face :-)

I got this in the lightest color, 01. Which is a nice neutral, "my lips but better". It is easy to put on, but I wish the felt tip would have given just a little bit more color so I didn't have to work with it as long. The tint smells and tastes sweet, and feels a bit sticky at first, but when it dries you can hardly feel it. I wear this under lipstick, balm or gloss for a nicer finish.
The tint does not last "forever", but it stays on for quite a while. I've read that people complain about it becoming patchy when it fades, but when you choose a neutral color you can hardly see it fading.

Epic fail! This does nothing for my lips. First off it clings to dry parts of the lips making it appear uneven. If I apply balm first then the lip tint it goes on looking uneven still. Smells great like rasperry sauce - just try not to lick your lips cause this stuff tastes toxic! The fact that it tastes so bad makes me wonder what goes into it. Im totally put of lip stains now.

I wear tints/stains only. I don't like creamy lipsticks at all. I have four other lip tints I can compare this to.
Revlon one (sucks a lot!),
Mac Art Supplies Lip Stain (amazing! I have been using this for 2 years, I know it's gross, but this stuff just keeps lasting and lasting!),
The balm Staniac (good for a natural look),
Margaret Astor (drugstore brand in Europe, better than Revlon)
I think this is better than the Revlon one, which is not really a compliment, but still worse than the others. And here are the reasons:
Staying power: not very good, starts coming off from the middle, which is not a good look ;)
Color : Patchy and I also think all the colors look very dark in the beginning and fade quickly.
Scent: Like something a 9 year old girl would like. Gummybear scent or something.
Packaging: Ok, the cap has an inside to prevent it from drying up, apllication is easy, but I think it's a bit too runny and therefore hard to make a clean outline.
Overall there are better tints/stains out there! Not repurchasing .

Like the comment below, I loved the appearance after the initial application but it has a lot of problems.
Pros: Each shade is lovely, can apply straight to the lip as opposed to some gloopy pot lip tints which get messy and unhygenic.
Cons: Terrible fibre tip - dries up at an instance, you have to constantly shake the pen just to get anything out! If you wear any lipstick of lip balm underneath the waxy coating will transfer onto the nib and just dry it out for future uses, after a couple of hours the consistency of the tint starts to break and you get lots of little pigment parts along your lips which is unattractive and you'll have to rub it off. It does this mostly when it's applied to naked lips.
While I love the Berry Burst colour I bought it in, it's just not long lasting or performing enough.

I agree with one of the reviews below, I got berry blast and was pleased with the result the first 2 or 3 times I used it. However, after less than 2 weeks I can't get ANYTHING to come out of the thing any more! I definitely didn't use it all up, wonder if my lip balm has got on the nib and wrecked it. Pretty disappoint because I did like the initial effect...

I am very happy with products especially 05 Marshmallow. These pens are fantastic in comparison to some others on the market - This is my first Max Factor purchase and I am pleased particularly with shade 05 marshmallow - this suits my complexion perfectly- I am a NC 20/25 - and it looks very natural and makes my lips look rosy - it can be applied as lip liner and as a blusher (but it would be too dark for me to use as a blusher) - so has multiple uses -Very useful and lightweight - no worries about it leaking into your bag- the only disadvantage is that it has to be reapplied if you dont let it dry properly and does not last anywhere near the entire day without reapplication. Dries out , but once shaken it is activated and ready to use again. good product. Matt not glossy so you may want to apply something to smooth out lips if they are dry first.
All shades can be applied lightly or heavily. Doesnt feel like lip product is on lips very good and matte - so natural.
shades 03 (berry/red) and 06 (deeper berry) I would use for evenings as they are less natural looking than shade 05 . I never use frosted lip gloss as here in the UK it can sometimes look a little dated on me in the day time - however I used Guerlain's pale frosted pink gloss very lightly with shade 06 underneath and received many compliments-- as I did for using shade 05. The pens can be worn with clear or colored gloss/lip stick.
You can team these up with your favorite gloss and experiment - very good product .
UPDATE: After months of use 05 marshmallow has become my favourite I have received many compliments since using this product. Alittle drying so gloss/vaseline may be used on top and it is great under glosses etc too for rosy lips. The staying power is not great but I dont mind reapplying every few hours as I like the effect of naturally rosy lips.

I disagree with all the negative reviews. This lip tint has a natural, matte effect. I prefer matte lip colors to shiny and sparkly ones so that's a pro as far as I'm concerned. I don't like the look and feel of heavy make up and this feels quite 'light'. It's also very suitable as a base for another lipstick.
Applying it is a bit odd. Like another reviewer has already mentioned: it's like you're using a felt pen instead of a lip color.

I got given this product for my birthday and so decided to wear it out in the evening. My first impression was WOW this is really bright, but I quite liked the impact it made and it was complimented quite a lot. The colour goes on well but just make sure you're lips are moisturised before hand because they will feel dry otherwise!
It had come off slightly after around 6 hours but this was after a full meal etc. and it still remained vivid.
I would recommend this product, I got it in 6 and I absolutely love the colour. If you want something that is going to make a statement this is the product.

Not entirely convinced with this product :/
I bought the corally shade and it is super bright so caution must be taken when applying.
I apply around my lower lip ( sort of like a lip liner) and use my upper lip to smudge it inwards. After this I repeat on the upper lip.
NOTE: This has to be done very quickly.
I don't mind making the product work for me but others might, the end result is a natural, pretty tint.
The pen does emphasize any flakiness so caution must be taken there and also the pen can be damaged pretty easily if in contact with other gels or lipsticks etc.
Again, not sure about this one.

I love a gimmick and so although I tried to resist picking up a felt tip pen for my lips, in the end I had to give it a try. I bought no.4 Berry Burst and I have to say straight away that I really like the packaging and the colour is gorgeous. But that's where the positivity on this product ends.
As a lipfinity product you would expect long wearability, but it fails to stay on for even half an hour. I've had the product for about 2 weeks now (having used it on maybe 10 occasions) and I'm already really struggling to get any colour out of it (my lips indeed end up berry pink, but as a result of vigorous rubbing of the pen, rather than the product itself).
I would also say you need to be careful to only apply to clean lips. If you use any kind of a base, it will stick to the surface of the pen and clog it up so that no tint can escape.
Once again a gimmicky product that doesn't deliver. Wasn't a fan of the lipfinity lip products before (too many cakey lips after cups if coffee) and I haven't been convinced otherwise with this lip tint.
