Goes on candy fruit without cloy, and spiky wood notes to keep it edgy. Amber rounds it out nicely, making it a kind of Golden Third poem, with each note progressing to the next and leading back around to a perfect circle. Then it starts to dry down and lose the symmetry, becoming waaaayyy too sweet and ending with basically Sweet Tarts and honey. Argh. Scrubbed. Such a pity after the incredible balance and beauty of the onset.
This fragrance is the closest to the original La Prairie scent in the beautifully cut crystal bottle. Life Threads Sapphire starts out very clean and fresh, almost like shaving cream. Give it time to dry down and it becomes very lovely and complex. I didn't appreciate it the first time I wore it. It is buttery but not overly so. It is a little sweet but not cloying. Just imagine a cross between the original La Prairie and a refined version of White Diamonds. I know I am not doing this fragrance justice. LIke the original, the bottle is amazing. This is their only scent I have liked in a long time and I just bought a bottle.
