I got Oh So Fair in the "Hark the Heraldry" (Tartan Tales) trio of blushes. I knew this was a highly rated and much beloved product but, for the life of me, I have NO idea what to do with this. I'm quite fair but this doesn't seem to work on me as a blush and I have issues with dusting pink powder all over my face. I wonder if the quality of the products in Tartan Tales is just second rate compared to their other releases (this was the case for me with Dame in this same set and I also noticed it with Bows and Curtsies in Tartan Tales compared to the one released in Fashion Flower). Certainly, MAC should be able to manage some sort of "quality control" with their products in repromotes and special editions. I'm going to read through the reviews here to see if I can get some ideas about what to do with this "beauty powder" (which is the biggest of the 3 pans in the palette). If I can get some ideas that work for me, I'll be back to change my rating entirely.

Oh So Fair is a lovely, very subtle pink, which is perfect for my very fair skin (NW5-10; NARS Siberia) -- it imparts a barely-there soft glow. To me, it is neutral-toned, possibly even leaning warm -- but definitely not cool. It is not heavily pigmented, though, so if your complexion is darker than some variation of "fair," I can imagine that it may not show up very well.

Great sheer blush! Perfect for very very fair skin (NC 15). Smooth silky texture. Love this stuff! Color is not to blue or orange. Great neutral pink tone. It's also not super bright. Soft looking color on the skin.
New note: Bobbi Browns Antiqua Bronzer is literally identical to Oh so Fair. Oh so Fair was LE, so If you need a replacement product check Bobbi Brown, they look identical on the skin, even the texture and finish is the same.

Lovely, natural effect on my pale skin, with or without foundation. I use this everyday. Will repurchase, even though I hate the price.

LOVED the product in the pan, I could swap it on MUA. Loved it at first glance but too bad it didn't show up on my NC30 skin. Such a bummer.

I almost paid 40 something dollars for this on ebay I wanted it so bad. Luckily I got it from a lovely swapper..thanks MUA for saving me on that one. I REALLY wanted to know how it compared to well dressed and wished someone had taken a picture of the two together. Im probably the only one who wondered but if theres others like me out there...Oh so fair is darker, more red toned pink while well dressed is a lighter, blue toned pink. Both beautiful. Not extremely different on the face. I think well dressed makes me look more young/innocent while oh so fair looks more sophisticated.

As I was walking out of MAC with all the things I had gotten from the Venomous Villains collection, I was sure that this was going to be the one thing I would be returning. I wasn't ready to dish out $30 for a blush, especially for something that looked liked like an average pink blush. I thought it was going to be a non-shimmery version of my La Vie en Rose from Too Faced. How wrong I was. For the past few months, this has been the blush I used 95% of the time. It creates a very pretty and healthy rosy glow on my NC15/20 skin that is perfect for any occasion. For a light pink color, it is surprisingly well pigmented and lasts all day. It is also very easy to blend because (maybe it's just my imagination) it seems to be creamier than MAC's other blushes, though admittedly I haven't tried a whole lot of them. After trying it out with a series of brushes (including my MAC 188), I find that I like it best with my Bobbi Brown blush brush. Since it is a LE item, I am hunting for a similar product but have yet to be successful. :( I have already purchased more as backup.

I wasn't planning on buying this product at all, because "beauty powder" just didn't sound like anything I'd need... Boy, was I wrong!
When I went into the MAC store to get a lighter shade of foundation (I had NW25, but felt it had become too dark for me, so I got NW20 instead), the MUA asked if I had a blush yet and I said no because I just couldn't find the right shade for my skin tone, seen as I'm pretty fair skinned and most blushes are way too dark.
She recommended the Oh So Fair beauty powder for me to use as a blush and it looks fantastic. It adds a little bit of color to my face, but not excessively. Though if I don't use it, I look washed out with just my foundation. I LOVE it and I hope I can find something similar once I run out!
It's a little expensive, but a normal price for a MAC blush. Plus, you get the evil queen on the packaging, which is pretty cool!

This is probably my favorite item from the VV collection. It's such a pretty color, and it's very easy to wear. This is actually my first MAC Beauty Powder, and I will be buying more in the future. They're very sheer but perfect for my "oh so fair" skin (sorry about the terrible pun), I'm a MAC NC 15. It's almost impossible to over do this stuff. It always looks natural and give you a very healthy, youthful glow. This product is LE, but if they ever relaunched it in a another collection ( as MAC does from time to time) I would happily get it again.

This powder is so cute. In an nc35 and I wasn't sure if it was gonna show up on my skintone, but it did really nicely. It's really sheer so don't expect a bright pigmented pink. It leaves my cheeks with a soft natural pink flush. I love this for really natural days since it's matte.

The color looked SO beautiful and it truly was(: I have tan skin though. So the color needed a brighter base under or me. I used MAC's Posey Cream Blush under very lightly and this over it. To make my color look even better I put it on my favorite MAC 168 angled blush brush and then applied it! Looked awesome. <3 Very nice. Brightens up my tan face ! continued >>

i have always been a huge fan of MAC's beauty powders & oh so fair is one of my favourites (sorry, pretty baby!) what i like about beauty powders, is that they are so much more lightweight in their texture & overall application; i'm NOT a blush type of girl...i have lighter than nc-15 skin & blush can be too much for my face. i know a lot of people don't like the BP's for that reason, but they work so well for me. oh so fair is a beautiful, neutral toned light pink. i use the MAC 168 to apply this on the apples of my cheeks & gently pull back/upward to match the shape of my face. this gives me a super nice, natural looking glow. it's not too heavy, not too light. these also work well over blush, for a little more "oomph!" continued >>

I actually bought this product based on all of the rave reviews I had been hearing about it. I was lucky enough to find this still available at the MAC counter in my local Dillard's. I am so happy that I did! This being my first Beauty Powder I had my doubts, but the MUA assured me that this product would work well for my NW20 skin. She was right! If I apply it lightly, it just gives me an air brushed glow - and I can apply it all over my face if I use a light hand. If I go at it a little more intensely, I can use it on my cheeks instead of a blush for day time. I like to add a little blush on top at night time.
My FAVORITE thing about this product is that it is invisible on the skin. Not at all flakey, powdery, anything artificial. In this sense it really looks natural and like you are wearing nothing. More than any product I have tried (and I have tried a good number).
Overall - love this product for lighter skin tones. If you can still pick this up, you should. I also think that this product had some of the best packaging in the whole Venomous Villains collection!

I got so excited over this because this is my very first Beauty Powder. I've heard so much about Beauty Powders, that they are sheer and different from regular blushes. I love blush to give that hint of color but I find most look cakey on me, especially most of MACs blushes. I'm just very natural when it comes to the skin, I like putting on eye makeup but I like anything on my skin to be natural. I'm not crazy about shimmers and if I'm wearing blush, I want to keep people guessing whether I'm wearing it or not. I've always wanted a Beauty Powder but I never seem to get there in time and they all run out since Beauty Powders are LE. This one's great, it's impossible to over do on this, it gives a very natural, subtle flush of color. I'll admit, sometimes I feel it doesn't show up on my NC30 skin but it's buildable. When I wear this, it's very hard to tell if I'm wearing blush or if it's a natural flush. It goes on so light and smooth, I just love it! It's expensive, $25 but it's a big compact that'll last forever. I also bought this in Briar Rose which is also gorgeous but more pigmented so I'll use that one when I go out at night.

This is a nice product to have. To be honest, I purchased it mostly based on the name and packaging. I love this image of the Evil Queen, it is my favorite out of the whole collection. Now, the product itself is also pretty nice! It is very pigmented on my fair skin, and I was somewhat surprised. Most of the reviews online were claiming that this is very sheer, well, if you are very fair you will not have a problem. This works perfectly as a blush for me, a nice flush for my cheeks. Overall I am happy to have this, definitely not regretting it or anything, but this is not a product I am looking to stock up on or would repurchase.

I'm NW 15 (as a lot of the people who are raving about this product seem to be) and it gives me a great natural looking rosy flush. Since it's not overly pigmented, you can slap it on in a hurry and not worry about looking like a clown. It's the perfect every day blush that goes with everything and looks great on pale skin.
Very pleased with this product, even though the packaging is terrible! Wish I would have waiting for the Tartan Tale collection which is coming out in a couple weeks. Oh So Fair is being repromoted as a part of a face kit with a few other blushes.

I bought this the day VV released and haven't regretted it for a moment. At first, I didn't think I really needed another beauty powder. I've had several in the past and swapped or returned all of them because they were too un-pigmented and blah.
However, this one is just right. It's a pigmented but not garish light/medium neutral pink with a hint of shimmer (no glitter). I'm NW15, and one swipe gives me a very subtle pink glow, while a more heavy-handed application builds to a nice medium pink flush. Not too warm, not too cool, not too bright, not too faint. Just right. When I grab this, I know I'm going to look pretty, not pale like I do with some "for fair girls" blushes, and not demented like I do when I wear "for medium girls" blushes .
Some others dislike the packaging, but I think it's cute. I smile every day that I pull it out of my makeup drawer.

I bought this beauty powder along with 8 others from the VV collections.I must say i'm pretty impressed. Gives me just the right glow to my NC30 skin. Not too bright or too boring. Love love this beauty powder. By the way, if you did not get a chance to own this powder because it was sold out, don't sweat it. Look forward to the Tartan Tale collections, it gets repromote in that collections....
