Since my face is darker than my chest, I chose to get this in Nc25. While it doesn't match exactly, it's the closest any foundation I've tried has come to matching my color. That reason, and the fact that I hate to touch up my makeup is the reason I purchased this foundation.
Its finish is very matte...which I suppose it good for oily skin like mine, but I feel that matte finishes make one look older and dull. So I like to mix some Lancome Eclat Miracle in with the foundation and it gives more of a satin or tiny bit of a dewy finish. Its medium coverage that lasts about 6-8 hours before it starts to shift around. Although that could be because I have oily skin, or I mixed in the eclat miracle, or I only used a light dusting of powder, or because I refuse to use a setting spray. -_- Who knows.
A decent foundation. I can't say if it affects my acne prone skin too much because I don't use it everyday. I'd like to try other long wear foundations but this is one that is more affordable. Will purchase again unless I stumble onto something better.

Looks very masky on and also I haven't broken out so bad since I had acne in middle school! My face is covered in bumps from this foundation..the only good things are the lasting power and the pump on the packaging. Sorry MAC, no thanks.

This foundation seemed right when I bought it, but turned out rather disappointing. I have to say I did some research online before going to the MAC store and was actually kind of predisposed to buy it. Maybe that's why I overlooked the fact that NW15, which for some reason doesn't exist for Pro Longwear, is actually my right colour for most of the year. I got the NW20 because the SA told me it worked and because it seemed to work when applied to my cheeck. But in daylight, when I have a full face on, it just doesn't look right. It probably will during those two months of the year when I am tanned. But for now I lighten the colour by mixing it with my Pro Longwear concealer in NW15. Which makes it even more expensive stuff.
But moving on. The lasting power, one of the reasons I wanted this, is actually quite good. Only on my nose does it gradually disappear during the day, but then again I have allergies so the stuff would have to be like glue in order to keep from transferring into my hankies.
But apart from the colour, the reason why I wouldn't repurchase is actually the finish. It looks pretty natural and soft-focus when viewed in soft light or from some distance. But up close it gives me that heavy makeup look and it emphasizes the irregularities in my skin. Even though I apply it quite lightly and really buff it in. That's obviously NOT what I want.
Another small con is the smell. I has something acidic in it, smelling as if some ingredient in it has gone bad ... Not a dealbreaker for me, but not very pleasant either.
So pro's:
- long lasting
- looks good in pictures
Cons:
- looks far from airbrushed up close
- no NW15!
- bad smell
- pump bottle (always dry clumps at the pump & I imagine it will be hard getting the last bit out) continued >>

i tried foundation based on all the amazing raves and reviews i've heard about it. It is a great foundation with pretty amazing lasting power with a natural finish. But i find that it has sort of a greyish cast kind of undertone (for my NC 35 skin) throughout the day, and looks extremely unatural in the sunlight, which is very flattering. However, its a good night time foundation for artificial lighting and photographs quite well which i'll probably just use it for. I would not re-purchase since there are so many better foundations out there that does not have that grey cast.

Background: NW20/Combo skin (oily t zone, redness, occasional blemish)
I *liked* this foundation but I feel that I can do better for the price. I picked this up after watching some of DulceCandy's Youtube tutorials. It is the longest wearing foundation I've ever used and definitely lasts from morning to night. It's an "I'm wearing makeup" foundation, which I don't mind for going out but I like a more fresh-faced look for the office so I don't use this as my every-day. Like all my liquids, I apply with a damp sponge, then blend/buff with a Sigma F80.
Pros:
-VERY longwearing
-Perfect colour match (NW20)
-Pump
- Great for nighttime wear
Cons:
-Too "makeup-y" to use as an every day for the office
- I know I can find a better value for the same performance. Have yet to try Revlon Colorstay as it's actually pretty pricey ($20ish) in Canada, but will be picking it up on my next visit to USA. If I can't find a dupe with Colorstay, I would repurchase. Will update.

Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium, Neutral Hair: Other, Straight, Fine Eyes: Brown

Shade: NC20
Application method: dry makeup sponge
Setting powder: Addiction by Ayako's loose powder compact (Medium) or Prep + Prime pressed powder

Pros:
-colour is more neutral and not as yellow as Studio Fix, so it suited my skin tone very well
-great coverage
-little scent (if any)
-glass bottle (nicer than plastic, I suppose)
-Hasn't broken me out (Mac's MSF Natural breaks me out)
-Lasts throughout a workday
Cons:
-heavy jar for travel (solution: I use a contact lense case and fill that with foundation)
-drying and sometimes makes my face patchy with dry skin/streaky foundation (solution: better moisturising skincare regime)

I am just generally not a fan of MAC products as I don't feel they have lived up to the hype when I actually buy and use them. This foundation is reminiscent of Revlon ColorStay (which is about a third the price), but is definitely a big more full-coverage. The problem I've had with this foundation is that it doesn't blend nicely enough in the skin (could it be the SPF? not sure) to make it look "flawless" despite all the different application techniques I've tried. It always looks very "masky" which is NOT a look I aspire to.
I know many people swear by MAC but I just don't find it to be a worthwhile investment, at least with regard to the products I've tried. I prefer more natural products (both in look and in formulation). I doubt I'll go into a MAC store again for any kind of concealer or foundation product.

Got a sample of this last week. Tried it just to see if it's worth the splurge. Nope! The quality is lesser than Revlon Colorstay foundation. It stinks into my pores and doesn't cover anything. Makes my skin looked worse than without any foundation. I had to wash it off. I don't know about the staying power but I won't find out because it can't stand this foundation. For a $30 foundation, I expected more. I am going to stick with my colorstay foundation.

I have a very oily and sensitive skin, with dry patches. This foundation oxidises within minutes of being put, dries to a very matte unnatural finish and wears off in patches (T zone). It gets darker as the day goes by, emphasises dry patches. Very difficult to put on, works only with a beauty blender for me (tried all sorts of brushes) or with hands, but you have to work very fast as it dries quickly. Overall, not impressed. I will stick to my ELDW and diorskin forever.

Was really surprised how much I like this foundation. It's like a light version of double wear. It would be drying for dry skin, but great for my combination skin in the summer. Runs dark. I am usually NC30 but actually got NC15.

When I got a replacement Mac Powerpoint eyeliner yesterday the MUA suggested a new blush for me -- Mineralize in Warm Soul. Love it! I was so happy I thought maybe I'd try their long-wear foundation to replace mine. I've used Dior Forever forever, but thought maybe I could do better...
Hah! When I got home and looked at my face in my 7X mirror, the Mac foundation was in tracks all over my face. The next day, I tried to carefully apply it myself. Same experience.
If you want flawless, long-wearing foundation, go for the Dior Forever Fusion Wear. It's amazing.

Errggggghhh.
I usually always complain that foundations never last all day or '24 hours' as they say they do, although this did stay all day. It stayed all day but didn't look as freshly applied as it did when I first put it on (obviously this is understandable).
I purchased this in NC25 because I had been previously matched in NC30 and found this too dark. NC25 matched my tone, it just had a HORRIBLE orange sort of tinge to it.
It's also very thick so it tents to bring out the pores around and on the nose. It made my nose area very cakey.
I would not wear this out of choice although I would wear it if i had to. If I could get my money back I would...

I have a love hate relationship with this product. First, it doesn't last long on my skin at all and i use a primer and it still doesn't last. Second it drys quickly you have to really blend it in. Third, less is more the less you wear the better it looks it can look cakey if you use to much. The good thing about this product is the coverage it makes you look flawless but you can tell when you have it on. it doesnt look natural to me but i love the coverage i have decided to only wear this on special occasions if i'm going out and want to look made up.

LOVE this foundation. I am the pickiest person when it comes to foundation because i have difficult skin. I am unbelievably oily, but with dry patches in some places. I live in humid weather so makeup melts off easily. This along with Estee Lauder Double Wear is my ALL TIME FAVORITE. The thing i love about this MAC is they WILL have your exact color. Im NC 42 and it's perfect. Second, it has the perfect matte finish. It makes my skin look absolutely flawless. I highly highly highly reccommend.

In general, I do like this foundation but I've found it can be a little bit problematic...
I use NC15, and when it is eventually blended in and set my skin looks pretty much flawless, however I do find it difficult to use. I find it quite thick, and when I use a primer underneath it the finish doesn't quite look right for me... I can't really describe it but it is like it is just sitting on top of my skin and looks a bit like a mask. So I wear it with no primer. I have tried several brushes, sponges, fingers trying to get it to look right and have found a MAC 130 works best. I like it because I like a lot of coverage, it gives that and it is long lasting. I do like this foundation and do think its good - you just need to get the application right based on your own skin and how this foundation looks and feels on it. I don't think I will buy another when my bottle runs out, I'm sure there are foundations out there which give just as good results but are a lot easier to work with.

One of the best foundation to work with, im nc42, i got this online in nc40 by mistake, couldnt bother to send it back, so i just start using it, its too light for me, then i stop using it, i bought MUFE velevt plus in the shade 65 online, then again, made a mistake, bit too dark, couldnt bother to send it back, so one day i just mix the pro long wear and the MUFE together, amazing mixture, last forever and ever, perfect shade, great oil control, then i mix the prolong wear with chanel perfection lumerie, then again, amazing mixture, making the lumerie last nearly twice as long, normally last like seven hrs :( then now the mixture last up to 14hrs! :) and the finish looks so natural, definity got two best thing out of the two, natural looking(chanel) and long lastkng(prolong wear) ! try it guys! Prolong works great with any other foundation i'v tried, of course when u mixed it with others, u have to make it equal part of both and mix them well, i would'v imagine how great it would work alone if i got this a shade darker :) but! I still got it to work just amazing as! Lovin it.

This is thin to me compared to the Studio fix. It really is not long wearing on my opinion. I have very oily skin and this does not offer full coverage. It looks like I am going to have to shell out money for Estee Lauder or Makeup Forever because this is not cutting it at all!

I like this foundation, I don't love it though!
The coverage is ok, I kind of expected it to cover better though.
The colours run very dark! I have NW20 and I only wear it when I have fake tan on.
It does last well and even though there's and SPF of 10 I haven't had a problem with white cast.
Overall it's a pretty average foundation, it's nothing special but it's not bad, the coverage is fine for day to day and the lasting power is good. But there are definitely better foundations out there!

I love this foundation so much, but unfortunately it's not really working for me. : ( The biggest problem I'm having is that NC15 is too dark. I should have known, since I'd read and heard that the Pro Longwear formula runs a little darker. I can wear NC15 in their other formulas but just barely. This foundation looks right in all indoor lighting and in outdoor lighting in the evenings, which is odd. But sitting here at my desk with natural lighting pouring in from the huge windows to my right, I can see that it's obviously too dark. I asked several people and they all say they don't think it's too dark to wear, but I just don't feel comfortable in it. It's just the strangest thing, I've taken tons of pictures of myself wearing it in various lighting, with and without flash, etc., and it looks perfect in all pictures. But when I look in the mirror, it's clearly off. The second problem I'm having is that my chin area seems to be reacting to it. Every night after I wash my face I see that I have a few tiny red bumps. Not pimples, just the typical bumps I get when I'm having a minor reaction to something. They're always gone by morning. This morning I did have a very tiny zit on the tip of my nose, which must be from this foundation because I never get those - especially not there. It also makes my skin itch a little. Very weird. On me, this gives buildable medium-full buildable coverage and looks SO natural and gorgeous. I absolutely love the finish. It smooths over my pores and fine lines. And it LASTS. The longest I've worn it so far has been 12 hours, and it looked just as good at that point as it did after I first applied. I was amazed. I thought it was going to be my HG foundation, until I realized it was too dark and that my skin was reacting to it. I may try mixing it with my L'Oreal True Match in W1 (the lightest foundation I own) to see how that goes, but if it compromises the lasting power and alters the finish I may have to give EL DW another try. It's a shame because there's so much I love about this foundation! I said that I would repurchase, but that's only if I can find a way to make it work. It might not be worth the hassle. Amazing product, it would just be nice if they made lighter shades. I'll definitely be able to wear it once I get a little color in the coming weeks and months, but I was really looking for something I can wear with my untanned skin. ETA: This stuff is going back. Today when I got home from work I saw that I had two *actual* zits on my chin. No foundation is worth ruining my skin, so I'm not going to mess with trying to make it work. So disappointing. I went and got a sample of EL DW in Bone and I think it might work for me. I've used Linen in the summer before and really liked it.
