ADORA is a orange based red, that has a matt finish. The shade is in the Foiled Love collection, which means that the lipstick has a metallic gleam to it.

I love that the matt lipsticks by Kat Von D all seem to have a long-lasting finish that dries like a stain. I put in on in the mornings, eat and drink, but colour is still on my lips up to six hours later - there is no feathering, no transfer on cups, and the colour still looks even. My lips are dry, but the formula doesn't flake.

In terms of color and pigmentation, this lippie takes the cake! A beautiful, highly-pigmented, metallic red. This is a matte finish lipstick, so the staying power is great (average 5-6 hours), and even when it starts wearing off it leaves a lip stain. My only major gripe about this product is that is is SUPER drying. Even with a lip balm underneath, this product seems to dry out my lips. Before using make sure you exfoliate your lips really well and use a generous amount of lip balm to prevent flakeing.

I'm so excited to have found a red lipstick that looks good on me! I've never felt I was able to wear red but this one is perfect. My teeth look whiter and I always get tons of compliments on how pretty I am when wearing this one. (I don't do anything different with my makeup other than this lipstick. haha!) I do hate how dry it feels but that was fixed by putting a lip balm on underneath it. I now want to try some other stuff from her collection!

Okay, my favorite lipsticks are from the korres line. Because they are smooth and my lips feel quenched and healthy and shiny afterwards. Korres is also all natural. So everything I buy otherwise I'll forever compare to my favorite line.
That being said, Adora is a beautiful color. For me, (pale) it was a bright red with a tint of orange. It is a lipstick that STAYS. I mean it rolls on like a lipstick and stains slightly so its great for work if you dont wanna have to touch up your lips.
Otherwise I didnt give it a five cause its freaking DRY. Compared to my favorite line it felt like I was scraping the lipstick on to my lips and they felt like they had a layer of tissue on them. I wanted clear gloss over them and felt like licking my lips. BUT I dont think its because Kat's lipsticks are bad. I think Korres is just that damn good in comparison as far as formula goes, and korres dont stay on like Kat does I will say.
I bought this series knowing it wouldnt be my favorite but i wanted roll up lipstick tubes that i didnt have to brush on, and something strong that lasted most of the day...and i got what i wanted.
So, if you love staying power and a general formula that works and a punch of color...in a convenient applicator... this is a great lipstick.

I. Love. This. Lipstick.
I don't usually wear lipstick. I always have a problem with them coming off soon after I put it on and feeling greasy. I decided to try Kat Von D's multi sampler set of lipsticks. I loved how they stayed on forever. Then I saw Adora featured at Sephora. I added it to my wish list and watched it go in and out and in and out of stock until it was altogether discontinued. One day I found one last tube at Sephora in Philly. I'm so glad I snatched it up. The color is a bright red with orange tones and a metallic finish. Its is the perfect red I wanted. It stayed put very well. I would say it typically stays on for about 6 hours before you need to reapply. That's even with eating. It is highly pigmented. Some days when I want to tone it down a little bit I put on gloss and dab this color on for a fantastic pout.

This lipstick is AMAZING. I'm so happy they re-released it!
I don't wear lipstick or lipgloss regularly, but I do work out at our local Renaissance Festival every year. The past couple of years I played a character on our 'royal court,' where you can get away with wearing makeup. Not only did this shade not overpower my pale skin tone, it matched my court gown perfectly. Most red lipsticks look too pink on me, but the slightly orange tones in this one balance it out so it maintains its true red color. It's also the perfect consistency to be able to apply and just forget about it - it's not like those 'moist' lipsticks that slide all over the place and need to be reapplied often, and it's not so dry that my lips feel chapped. It lasts forever, too, or at least until you eat or drink something.
The only thing I can really think of that might be considered a drawback is the bright pink color it stains your lips afterward, but I think that's a small price to pay for such great color payoff. Will definitely buy again!

I. Love. This. Lipstick.
This is the first lipstick I have ever put on that actually made me smile. I wanted this the first time around, but didn't get it. Sephora told me it was permanently discontinued.
...but I am stubborn and kept it on my wish list and would check it once in a while. A few days ago IT APPEARED!!! I couldn't believe my eyes! I ordered immediately!
It is a little on the orange side, I think, but that may be due to my warm skintone (NC30/35). It is not drying, but it isn't moisturizing either. It definitely clings to the lips and feels dry, but I like lipstick that doesn't slip and slide. It has great staying power because of that. It isn't glossy, but it isn't matte, either. It really is "metallic" and honestly I've never seen anything like it. I wouldn't say it is frosty...but I wouldn't say it is matte. It isn't shiny, but it isn't flat either. All I know is that I love it.

I really like this product, I'm very fair and I rarely find a true red lip that works for me. The packaging is very cute as well. And it looks glittery in the tube but it goes on almost completely matte. The only reason it doesn't warrant 5 stars is because it really dries my lips out.

This is a very unique red becuase it's metallic instead of shimmery. It is very pigmented and goes on matte. In natural light it just looks red but in other light like artificial light it can look orangey with more sheen.
The only thing I didn't like is that it stained my lips after removal. Most lipsticks are easy to remove with just a tissue, but this leaves behind a vibrant rosy color on the lips that I couldn't get off until it naturally faded. But that is not necessarily a bad thing if you want some color even after removing it.

I like this l/s, makes my blue eyes pop! Leans more warm IMO. But I think it could work on a cooler tone person who leans more neutral. I'm NC25 right now, NC15-20 in the winter, but I lean more neutral and can wear some cool colors, too. I would have given this l/s 5 stars; however, it is a drier l/s and can make the lines of my lips stand out. I have to use lipbalm underneath to make it apply better. Adora is also slightly metallic. It also wears really well. I ate lunch and it still looked great! However, my HG red lippie is still MAC Port Red!

I bought this lipstick based on reviews here and other places and I have to say it is the WORST lipstick I have ever bought. First the color was atrocious, very orangy red, extremely drying, and just plain AWFUL. Did I get a bad tube or something? I hate it when this happens.

Bought two of these, one for me and one for my mom. I'm a NC25...my mom is NC40. This l/s looks amazing on BOTH of us! Oh and we both also use Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Barcelona to line our lips before applying the l/s. :) continued >>

I love this lipstick! I've been searching for "the perfect red" for a long time and this is definitely it! It's a very powerful shade, so make sure your lips are the focus of your makeup routine for that day. :)

I swear I'm in love with this product!
I think that this is one of those shades that suits everyone. I'm an NC10 in winter, NW15 in summer and I'll admit, I don't usually go for this sort of coloured lipstick, but it's beautiful. Staying power is great, not sticky or drying, applies easily, no nasty smell or tase and the packaging is pretty too. I think this is probably my everyday HG lipstick!

What a tease having to wait for this product to finally arrive:) I saw it pictured in the Sephora catalog and had to have it. Been searching for the perfect red for me and this is it. If I had to compare it to something, I would say it reminds me of MAC New York Apple. Howeverrrrrrrr:) It is slightly deeper with a soft metallic feel. It goes on matte and stays put; looks sooo pretty on. My skin is fair, and right now I have a tan which is fading. My hair is strawberry blonde and my eyes are dark, dark brown. This looks to be a color that would suit every complexion. The packaging is so pretty, too; that is an added bonus there:) I am happy this finally made it to Sephora.com:) I would buy this again:)
