This is the only high-SPF sunscreen that hasn't broken me out! I've used sensitive skin versions from Kiehl's, Lancome, Neutrogena, Vichy, Clarins, MAC (prep and prime 50), Banana Boat, Coppertone and the list goes on. They all broke me out. Desperate for sun protection, I picked this up in the US for around $50- it's not available in Canada. It comes in a small, flexible tube with a pump top, making application easy. It has a light scent, but it fades quickly and doesn't bother me. It controls oil ALL day, no blotting. It is extreme, though- my normally very combo skin gets dry with this alone, so it's not moisturizing. I use a really light moisturizer underneath to avoid dryness. I find it best to apply when my face is a bit damp so it spreads more easily. All-in-all, I will continue to stock up on trips and pay the amount. It worked very well on a hot cruise- no burning whatsoever. To find a high SPF screen that makes my sensitive, acne-prone skin happy is a big deal!

Best sunscreen I have tried. This has fantastic oil control, provides high UVA/UVB protection, makes a good primer under makeup and doesn't breakout or irritate my sensitive skin. Some have said it feels sticky and I don't really agree...it only feels ever so slightly tacky.
Downsides are that it's very drying and will make my skin flake unless I moisturize extremely well beforehand (I have normal-combo oily skin), smells quite unpleasant and leaves a slight white cast on my skin (NC20-25 for reference).
The price is way too high - I paid £40 for 30ml of product which will only last about 2 months. Even so, it is a sunscreen worth paying extra for because of the quality. The tube pump packaging is hygienic too.

I wanted to try a different sunscreen, since I noticed that the chemical Lancome one I was using didn't seem to be blocking out much, even thought it was a high SPF. I was attracted to the SPF50, and, as others mentioned, the 19% zinc oxide.
I got the "clear" version (not sure if the "pearly" one is offered here in the US, as I have never seen it at the counter. The liquid is white and sort of thick, but once on the face, it goes on transparent and does not leave the dreaded white mask. (I imagine that, due to the zinc, it would not photograph well in flash settings, but I've not tried.)
The packaging is convenient and sanitary. Even though it looks like a tube, it does have a pump, and the pump gives you a good amount of control as to how much product comes out.
As others have mentioned, since the texture of this is quite dry, it doesn't work well under powder foundation - only liquid. Additionally, because of the ingredients, it is hard to remove at night, and the previous reviewer was correct that hounded a cleansing oil first to prevent clogged pores.
Overall, I really like this product... It works well at controlling my oily skin, too... I would definitely repurchase. Just wish the price weren't quite so high (over $50USD.) continued >>

Perfect color, texture and coverage and doesn't clog pores.

i've been using this sunscreen for the past 5yrs and i always come back to it. This is by far my fave sunscreen for the face as its non sticky, non greasy, and come with a good amount of protection -SPF 50. i like the tube and the small opening too as it allows you to easily manage how much of the cream you'd like to squeeze out. definitely a product i'll continue to purchase.

I recently ran out of my Sofina sunscreen, so I purchased this one because I got tired of having to order it online. I found out that Dior has a Diorsnow line, which is formulated for Asian skin. The price was $50, but I think it's worth it, because it has great skin care ingredients and 19% zinc oxide. I liked the packaging very much, it looks like a tube but it has a pump. I used it for the first time today. It's not greasy, but it's sticky and hard to spread. I'm used to more liquid sunscreens. Diorsnow has a makeup base that is more liquid, but it's only SPF 35, and it's a chemical sunscreen, so I didn't choose it. I only wear concealer and powder on top of my sunscreen; the stickiness of the Diorsnow sunscreen made my concealer hard to blend and made my powder very thick. I couldn't blend my blush well either. However, the thickness of the sunscreen kept my oil under control (it's about 100 degrees right now). So yeah, it is a good sunscreen with impressive ingredients, but I wouldn't use it under makeup. I will finish the tube, but I will not buy again.

HG sunscreen! I have been searching for a sunscreen that doesn't give me that white cast and most importantly that doesn't make my skin oily. And guess what, this doesn't do either of the above. Most sunscreens I have tried will somehow always leave my skin looking oily and oxidized. Hate that! I am currently using the Translucent formula and am loving it. It glides on easily and absorbs quickly while keeping my skin looking fresh and natural. Will try the Pearly formula next. See how that one fairs.
p.s. Tried the Diorsnow BB Cream from the same line. Hated it. Left my skin looking oily and oxidized.

YESSSSSSSS! I'm loving this sunscreen. I'm getting into Asian skin care and saw a lot of good reviews for this. I love that it has 19% zinc oxide (no white cast either!) but not so fond the chemical sunscreen included but I'm willing to overlook that since the formula and performance are great. Be warned, this does have cones in it. You could also take a bullet wearing this stuff so you must, I repeat must use some kind of oil cleanser/makeup remover to take it off. Otherwise you'll clog your pores and potentially get breakouts. This holds true for any physical-based sun protection product.

It applies so smoothly and dries to a perfect matte finish. Speaking as someone who doesn't wear a powder foundation but rather liquid or bb cream, wearing this underneath doesn't affect my makeup at all. I've had no breakouts (use that oil, ladies!), no skin irritation and overall a great experience. The only downside? This stuff is expensive. I paid $50 for 1.3 oz/30 ml. A tube lasts me about 7 weeks. I use a different sunblock for my neck and décolletage. I still want to try other sunscreens out of curiosity but will be buying another tube to keep as backup. If you're willing to pay the money, it's an awesome sunscreen. Definitely a keeper for this picky sunscreenaholic!

I felt like I hit the lottery when I saw 19% zinc in a product without alcohol, which really causes my normal/combination skin to be red and irritated. This has a nice natural finish with a little bit of stickiness to grab hold of a foundation. There is no slip or shine. It's a real matte base. I wore this over the dior capture totale R60/80 serum with a tinted moisturizer and my skin was dry and crinkly. However, it is winter. I persisted and wore with serum and moisturizer the next day and my skin wasn't as dry, but my foundation and loose powder laid on top of my skin all day, which was unusual. So I returned it and went back to my La Roche Anthelios. This would probably be good for someone, who doesn't wear powders or powdery foundations.

This japanese version of Diorsnow sunscreen is beloved by the pale-faced ladies of Asia. It comes in Clear and Pearly White, the latter which gives you a faint silver shimmer. It has European standard PA ratings, which is higher that US standards. They're serious about their sunblock. Light sunscreen smell but overall, goes on smooth and light.
