This eye cream, though expensive, is certainly heavy-duty. Though it claims to 'smooth, moisturize, minimize dark circles', I can't vouch for all three. I have noticed a decrease in the severity of my (already mild) dark circles. Though it also claims on Babor's website that this has light-diffusing properties that instantly reduces the look of wrinkles and fine lines, I can't really vouch for that, given my age.
But where this product really excels is in moisturizing the undereye area. I have yet to find a product that moisturizes as well as this. It doesn't soak in so well, though, so I rarely used this in the mornings. I don't have horrendously bad undereye cirles, darkness, or fine lines; but I do have a lot of dryness under my eyes. While using this product, I woke up to non-puffy, non-red eyes in the morning. This product also never stung or irritated my eyes, though I'm not a contact lense wearer, nor are my eyes especially sensitive.
This product is quite rich, and it never soaked well enough or quickly enough to make worth using in the morning. Though Babor's site reccomended using this morning and night, I found it too heavy under my undereye concealer (YSL Touche Eclat) and chose to just use it at night.
The product is spendy and quite difficult to find here. At $60 CDN before tax and available at the day spa where I get periodic facials, it's quite a trek. I also hate the packaging - though very creamy, I would've preferred to have it in a bottle with a pump, as opposed to a shallow jar with a lid (which accounts for the 4 lippies instead of 5). The packaging feels and looks quite luxe (as it probably should for that amount of money!) - a brushed gold lid, with a frosted glass container.
I would personally buy this again; but I am nothing if not a product junkie, and there are some products for my dry undereyes I'm in the midst of using (Caudalie Eye & Lip Cream) and would like to try (Avene Ystheal Cream) before rebuying. I would not reccomend this to women around my age (23) who are looking for a starter eye cream; the gel that retails for half the price of this would probably be sufficient for those who aren't looking for intense moisture. continued >>
