I really love this foundation for my very oily skin - it looks natural, matt and lasts for ages. I apply it with a Real Techniques stippling brush and it looks flawless - no flaking or cakey effect at all. It also stays put really well and I only use a bit of MAC Natural Mineralizing Skin Finish once during the day to keep the shiny face away, which is much less than normal for me! I use natural beige which is lovely fair/medium shade for my skin. It gives a good medium coverage but actually feels very light on. It is quite expensive for a drugstore brand at £12.99 but is still far cheaper than many premium make-up brands I've tried (and I've tried many...) and gives better results. I've only given it 4 stars due to the low SPF (only SPF6) and the stupid packaging - please Revlon make this with a pump dispenser! However, I still love it so will definitely re-purchase.

I bought this product because im on a hunt for a very good foundation that would stay on my oily skin. Thsi product was horrible. I have alot of acne and acne scars and this foundation made me breakout even more. It took me awhile it figure it out but once i stopped using the foundation my acne stopped a little i still get acne around my tom but thats about it now. I live in fl so its pretty much hot all year round, and this product claims to help to oil but at the end of the day(3pm) my face was a oil ball, even if i used a primer. I also felt that i had to but alot of foundation around my acne scars because i think it didn't have ery good coverage.

I've finally found a foundation that doesn't break out my super sensitive, oily acne prone skin. The look of this is really nice, long wearing, natural looking, and the color matches me perfectly! I've tried much more expensive foundations that aren't this good of quality. Lots more respect for Revlon.
Paid $18CDN. The container sucks, glass bottle that you need to pour out on your hand... but I'm just thankful I found a good product.
Tip: After you've done your full face: conceal problem areas by using your foundation brush and dabbing the area lightly with product. Let it sit for a few seconds then pat it out lightly. Voila! No need for a separate concealer.

I had this once in my make up case and it didn't spend too much time in the case since I were fed up of how it did to the skin and the problems it brought to me. I wonder what kind of fool could made this? It flowed like hell everytime I tried to get just a little bit of amount from it. I were forced and again for many many times to wear more than enough amount of this foundation and I knew this is really bad... == what the hell!? However, it is quite water and sweat proof or resistant. It lasts the whole day and I am sure you don't have to spend time in the washroom for the make up checking. The colour range in Malaysia is from the asian light beige to asian tanned dark orange. It may suits most of the Malay and Indian ladies but it simply looks too over on Chinese skin. The smell could kill a cow, trust me! The packaging... ermm, the worst I ever seen. And the price is about RM60, its not that pricey for a better quality liquid foundation. Overall its not that suitable for me ^.^.

a little goes a long way with the product
stippling brush application makes it look flawless
Con

not that high spf
i paid 12.68 for this- for a highstreet/drugstore product i think it is expensive

I am medium skin color with olive undertones, NC25-NC30. I have normal to a bit oily skin. I have a few break outs.
I decided to buy the combo to oily colorstay foundation so I wouldn't have to deal with oily skin throughout the day. But, I really don't have super oily skin and this foundation was too drying on my skin. It is mean for oily skin. It also makes your skin look really matte. Which is good for oily skin. However, it tends to make your skin look a little white or grey? Anyways I decided to switch to the normal/dry skin foundation. And it was much better. So, if you have slight oily skin, then go for the normal to dry foundation. But, if you have very oily skin then this will work better for you.
The color medium beige was the best color for my skin tone. But, it did make my skin look a little dull and slighlty whitish gray. The medium beige in the normal to dry didn't do that. It was a perfect match.
It is medium coverage and lasts all day until I go to sleep.

I like this foundation. It provides me with good coverage and lasts through out the day. I find I have to blend quickly, it sets fast. I like using my fingers. I find it gives me enough coverage even around my eye area, no concealer needed. Doesn't make me break out. The bottle has leaked on me a couple of times if I lay it down in the drawer. I'm sure I closed it properly but now I keep in standing up just in case.

I purchased this foundation on a recommendation. This is the only foundation to date that does not disolve due to my oily skin. The coverage is good, but if you apply to much you can look cakey. The formulation is thicker than most foundations. I tried applying it with my sigmax F80 brush but the foundation is too thick and it made me look cakey:( So i apply it with my fingers, it gives you a more natural finish, but if i need extra coverage in an area i go back with my sigmax F80 and use this foundation as a concealer. The biggest Con to this foundaton is its packaging.. it does not have a pump!! so you tend to waste a lot of product.

I love this foundation!!!!
I have normal to oily skin and a little acne, and this foundation keeps me matte for a very long time. It's not greasy, it covers up my blemishes and uneven skin tone (I have some red spots) and evens out the color of my skin. I only use foundation sometimes, but this stays on for a long time when I wear it, and I'm very happy with the quality of this product. If you're looking for something to put on when you go out, this might be perfect for you. Plus, it has SPF and it's the exact same color as my skin, which is something that I've had trouble finding in the past. Will definitely buy again!

Goes on easily (with a little primer underneath) and stays matte on my oily skin until lunchtime (pretty good for me). Still don't like the look as much as MAC Pro Longwear, but this is a good alternative for my gym bag.

First let me say that this is a product for oily skin (which I have) so if people with normal or dry skin are using it they're not going to love it. As for me, I have long had issues with most foundations because they literally slide off my face and/or leave my skin very shiny and impossible to keep matte even with repeated applications of foundation primer or oil control powder.

Before this, I was using Sally Hansen's "Carmindy" foundation, which is wonderful and matched my skin perfectly, but left me so shiny you could practically see yourself in my face, LOL. I put up with this for a couple of years until by chance I decided to try the Revlon given that the regular formula of "ColorStay" gets such rave reviews.

Well, this version lives up to all the raves in my opinion. It's everything I need in a foundation. It's lightweight yet the coverage is excellent. It stays put and even after many hours my face is still nowhere near as shiny as with other foundations, and this is without applying powder too! It even seems to minimize pores and fine lines plus creates an overall smoothing effect. On top of all of that it doesn't cause any sensitivity issues. I think I may have found my HG foundation, and that's high praise given how fond I was of the Sally Hansen. Only one small nit is that the color doesn't match my skin as perfectly as the Sally Hansen, but given all its other advantages I am more than willing to live with that. It matches well enough. I also agree with the first reviewer that it should have a pump like the "Photo Finish" foundation. I got used to using a pump with the Sally Hansen and miss it a lot.
I am truly surprised that I love this foundation because I resisted buying it for a long time. I had tried a previous incarnation of Revlon foundation a few years back and did not like it at all. If not for the reviews on this site I would never have given it another chance. I am amazed at how far makeup technology has come in a few short years. And just in the nick of time when my 50+ oily skin needs all the help it can get!

The first comment is obviously written by Revlon themselves. VERY obviously lol
I bought this foundation twice. Even though I wasn't a fan of it the first time, i was in a pinch and needed foundation asap and some that i could get from CVS.
My skin is pretty oily and i havae a LOT of acne and scars. The foundation itself would probably work well for someone who doesn't have oily skin or too many severe imperfections. But for me, who has that really oily heavily marked skin, it was a complete bust. It was pretty good for creating an even skin tone, but that's about it.
I have redness on the corners of my nose and on my cheeks right next to my nose. It doesn't even cover that, never mind any of my acne or my scars (which i don't expect a foundation to cover my acne, but at least mildly cover the red scars). I basically have to cover my face in my MAC full coverage concealer to make up for what the foundation lacks. After i apply the foundation, yes, with a makeup brush, and apply a loser power over it, it looks really good. But after a short time, maybe an hour, it starts to melt off my face because of my oily skin. As long as i NEVER touch my face at all, it wasn't too too bad, but still, it melted off.
if you don't have very badly scarred/ance prone or oily skin, im sure this would be a good foundation, especially for the price. but if you have my kind of skin, it just won't cut it as well as you would hope.

Finally, a great foundation that stays where it's put. I had experimented with this foundation years ago, before they switched to the color-flex formula. Back then, I didn't have the right color for my face (it was too dark), and so I didn't enjoy using it.

I live in Fl. where the summertime is hot and humid. I found that this foundation is the ONLY one that will stay on my face. I have areas of redness and so i need a total cover up that looks natural.

I am using the Medium Beige and it is an exact match for my skin. the SPF factor is a benefit too, but its not nearly enough protection, so I blend my Neutrogena Healthy Glow Sheer with SPF 30 underneath.

That is nothing more than a tinted moisturizer, and it is very light in color, so the ColorStay on top of it blends in really well. So, I have a primer that has an SPF to use underneath it, which conditions my skin as well.

Overall, I think that this product should have a pump. There are places online to buy pump tops for makeup bottles, if you google it. I don't mind though because as the color decreases in the bottle, i just store it upside down so I can always get to it.

This product does not irritate my skin, and I did not suffer breakouts from using it. But, I do have to dust with powder in my t-zone and my cheeks, very lightly, and use my blotting sheets in the middle of the day. I get the best application when I clean with my neutrogena toner, apply the moisture foundation and then add the color stay. I have yet to find a foundation that prevents oil seepage, but if I do, i will be sure to rate it here at makeupalley, too.

This is an excellent product, comes with great and long lasting coverage that does not bugde, i am not left with a sweaty face during the summer, and it also has SPF, what more could I want from a foundation?! This stuff is liquid gold!

People tend to experience breakouts from trying new products. The skin will react to any new conditioning that it is put under. Sometimes, skin can be sensitive depending on how you treat it. Experiencing a breakout from trying a new product is common, until your skin is able to tolerate the new conditions that you keep producing for it.

This is the kind of product that needs to be removed thoroughly each day or breakouts will occur from the skin being clogged. Do not sleep in this makeup.

If the application seems patchy it is because some users are applying it with their fingertips or with a sponge, in an all over sweeping movement. this is not the best way to apply it. I have had the best application with the stippling technique and also with using a foundation brush, working in a small area and blending each area into the next. It is not the fault of the makeup or the tools, it is the fault of the user if they are not able to get a decent application. Perhaps they should study application techniques and practice. This product takes some getting used to but overall it seems very professional and quality.
