My hair is long I've been getting split ends lately and the sales in drugstores keep commenting on how dry my hair is. I'm lazy so I don't like to go for trims. I found that this spray has really helped to keep my hair tidy. Its less oily than before and i feel as if my hair is stronger. Downside is the smell is sort of weird, it smells ver soapy to me. I'm thinking of trying the liese juicy shower next. :)
I have fine long hair with dry ends but oily roots. I hoped that this very light conditioner would be perfect for my hair type and it was for a while. I have used this spray last year when my hair was in a very good condition and I liked the lightness and volume that it gave me.
But now my hair is much dryer and the results of this conditioner are very bad. Yes, still a lot of volume but in a very bad way, it feels like if I have put hairspray with a lot of alcohol in my hair. The only good thing is that it is a good detangler.
Another bad point is the ingredientlist.
As by all L'Oreal products the ingredientlist looks very chemical (the score is a 7 on the cosmeticsdatabase):
Water, propylene glycol, lactic acid, hydroxyethyl oleyl dimonium chloride, hydrolyzed conchiolin protein, phenoxyethanol, peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, peg-40, trideceth-12, polyqarternium-4, polyqarternium-11, limonene, linalool, amodimethicone, alpha-isomethyl ionone, methylparaben, butylphenyl methylpropional, citronellol, cetrimonium chloride, citrus limonium/lemon fruit extract, hexyl cinnamal, parfum/fragrance
This is a fantastic product if your hair needs a little extra tlc. I spray on to both wet and dry hair and it makes my hair more smooth and manageable. I have also found that this is excellent for keeping hair extensions in great condition,i use Jessica Simpson Hair Do and prior to using this they would become matted and very false looking over time, however now i spray them with this they look like super natural hair and very silky, not fake looking at all. I brought for around £3 in Asda and for me, that is a fantastic bargain compared to brands ive tried such as Redken and Keratese, would highly recommend.
** Wet hair **
I mainly use this spray on wet hair as it also makes an excellent detangler; My combs glides through my hair with no pulls and there is noticeably fewer broken strands left in my comb when I've been using this. My hair is past my shoulders, but find that I don't need to use more then five sprays, avoiding the roots.
Whilst drying my hair I can smell the lovely citrus fragrance that this product has [the entire Nutri-gloss range has the same fragrance], but as my hair dries, the scent largely disappears, I can still catch the occasional whiff, but it is only occasional.
When dry, there is an instantly noticeable increase of shine, compared to using my regular conditioner alone. My shampoo and conditioner are also by Elvive, but not from the Nutri-gloss range; If they were, I think my hair would glow in the dark... As it is the shine is good, but not as good as when I was using the matching shampoo and conditioner. In addition to shine this spray also smooths flyaways and reduces frizz, leaving my hair feeling a tad silkier then normal too.
Sometimes I use my regular conditioner with this over it, using both will not weigh hair down or cause it to become greasier quicker. Sometimes I use this instead of the conditioner and find it quite good at reducing frizz as well as leaving my hair silky, but it's not comparable to regular conditioner as it is so light.
** Dry hair **
We all have those days when we don't have time [or simply can't be bothered] to wash our hair and this stops me feeling like a total Ke$ha; I simply spray three or four times over my mid-lengths and the ends of my hair, blast my hair with my hairdryer for half a minute or so and viola... My hairs looks, smells and feels fresh again; The shine is increased [about the same level as when used on wet hair], the citrus fragrance is stronger then when I use it on wet hair and my hair feels silkier and looks smoother too.
My bottle is still going strong after three months; It's not even half way empty yet and I'll happily buy it again. It's inexpensive, gives noticeable shine, has a nice smell, doesn't weigh my hair down and detangles so I'm more then happy to keep using this.
My only disappointment is the level of shine; As mentioned above the increase is good, but not as good as the shine the shampoo and regular conditioner gives me. When I was using those other people would comment on how shiny and healthy my hair looked, while I've yet to have this happen from using this product.
I use my regular shampoo and conditioner and use this after my hair has dried to define my waves without weighing them down and it does this pretty well.
Smells yummy and if my day old hair is going a bit frizzy I can spray in my hair, gently shape and then style up.
It isn't really that effective as a conditioner on my dry hair so I actually bought this to be used as an additional conditioner to the one I already use ...
What L'Oreal promise this will do:
Help detangle long hair that is fine, prone to oily roots but dry ends, while not weighing it down. It's supposed to be a light spray leave in conditioner, that's specially made for long fine hair that needs nourishment but gets weighed down easily.
Well, that's pretty much my hair. This can be used on wet or dry hair and it's watery.
What it does in my experience:
Provided you already used rinse away conditioner and use a lot of this, it somewhat helps detangle. Changes nothing about hair, no visible improvement at all. But the sad part is, once it dries it leaves hair drier and the ends more coarse than usual.
Hence, it doesn't work for me.
