I love this nail polish! The colour is really nice and it's definitely something you can wear to work. Two coats of this is more than enough. You can even get away with one coat. The application is easy, it's not runny or thick. It also dries quickly.

First off, I'm an NC40 for reference. Pedal to the Metal is more of a pewter, grey with lavender undertones. I think this shade suits all skin tones. I found this to have a smooth application. Two coats is good enough for opacity. This is from the complete line, where a base and top coat aren't necessary, but I just can't do that to my nails. I still used a base and top coat. This polish lasted me three days before I encountered my fist chip.
As for the brush, I'm not a huge fan of the new Sally Hansen brushes and I find them too stiff. I don't like how it's rounded at the end so I removed two lippies just because of that. But I do like the long handle. I think the rubber accent would have been more useful at the top of the handle rather than the base of the handle. Sometimes polishes are difficult to open especially if the top of the bottle gets gunky. Overall, because I'm not a huge silvery, pewter shade lover, I wouldn't run out and purchase this again. Although this does make a nice accent for nail art against dark colors especially dark purple.

I really like this shade. I think of it more as a lavender pewter shade than straight up silver and I find it quite wearable. The trouble is the formula. I feel that the polish becomes very brittle and it begins to chip off in less than a day making this polish far too high maintenance for me.

This brush is perfect for people with unsteady hands. J was a hardcore devotee to my OPIs, Essie and China Glazes. The packaging caught my eye and I decided I would get this silver. Of all the nail polishes I own, I found this to be one of the easiest formulas to work with. I'm not a huge fan of silvers but this is probably the best one I've seen.

This is a great silver polish! I love that it has that subtle hue of purple/lavender - As one reviewer noted, this can be a very interesting neutral color. Out of all the Sally Hansen polishes I have, this is in my top 3, along with Gunmetal and Honor.

I wanted the color in the bottle. Turned out to be a bright silver. Not at all what I wanted. On nails, the color appears brighter than the metallic gray-lavender color the bottle suggests. Returned the polish. Love this line, though, and have many others.

I love love love it! I originally was on the hunt for a champagne colored nail polish, but I ended up buying this instead, which I don't mind because I was looking for the subtle yet elegant textured and colored nail polish. It has the exact texture I was looking for! It's not too sparkly or glittery, but just has a nice subtle sheen to it.
The color on the other hand, I was expecting it to be a light lavender, but it tends to look flat out silver in different light. I guess I dont mind this either because it looks silver at one time and looks like beautiful lavender in other.
The brush is the best I've used/ seen so far. The little downside is that it leaves streaks when you apply them. I had to apply 3 coats (without top coat) to make it look like one solid color. It dried relatively fast (which I LOVE) and it's fairly durable.
The price is on the expensive line, but that's what you gotta pay for top quality nail polish. I dont think I wasted my money and that's all that matters. I will definitely be buying another color from this line again, if they have what I want :)
It's subtle, elegant, and beautiful! Goes with pretty much anything you'll wear

Arg. I love this color. Silver with a very, VERY slight lavender hue. The bottle has a nice weight to it. But when I applied the polish, it dried noticably streaky. It's a bit thicker than other polishes I have tried, which is nice on one hand because I use less, but it also blobbed. (That's the best word I can think of to describe it.) Between the blobbing and the streaking, I don't think I'll use it again, which is too bad because it really is a lovely color.

This is a near perfect silver. No sparkles. It is fairly neutral, but definitely cool toned. Wouldn't work with, say, orange. I love the performance of the polish too. The brush is a great shape and makes application much easier than traditional brushes. I put this on Sunday night and but Friday it still looks good, although the very tips are starting to show a tiny bit of wear. That's actually pretty amazing, because I have not refreshed with a top coat. I'll definitely buy this product again in other colors.

Great silver polish that manages to be subtle at the same time. It's a lady-like, slightly grayed silver with a subtle sheen that is work-place friendly, ymmv on this, however. Wears very well, applies easily with the big flat brush and dries quickly.
I have very short, splitty, bendy nails and have found that this line really works well for me. It stays on well, so I can minimize the use of remover, I am able to cover chips well and the color stays fresh with a top coat thrown on every other day or so. Nice line overall.

I have been on a fairly extensive hunt for a silver nail polish. I think silver can actually be an interesting neutral color, as it can go with a variety of colors (black, gray, blue, purple, some pinks and reds..) that way you don't always have to agonize of trying to find a shade that matches your outfit perfectly that is appropriate for the event, and you don't have to worry with the hassle of changing it constantly throughout the week.
Pedal to the Metal was my answer.
Silver polishes have a tendency to be very sheer (needing several coats for an even somewhat unified, opaque finish across the nails) or very glittery so sparkly in fact that one cannot see the color for the sparkles. And some just come out too pearly and white to be considered silver.
But Pedal to the Metal is divine! It is a pigmented shiny (almost car paint like) true silver that has neither too much gray nor too much white, and has no obvious gritty glitter . It does have some slight lavender leaning to light blue undertones, but these are EXTREMELY subtle and really are only visible when one pairs the polish with blue or purple clothing. Application is smooth and the brush to the Complete Salon Manicure polishes (new line from Sally Hansen) is totally unlike anything I've seen. It covers the whole nail with one stroke (no lie) in a coat that is certainly not too thin but surprisingly not overly thick to the point where it is chalky either. The polish also lasts in its unchipped form for a long time (a week's worth for me personally)I have seen these at Target for sure, but I don't know if they're available everywhere Sally Hansen is sold yet due to the collection of polishes being so new. But I do recommend this color and formula. Love and will by again! Sally Hansen= best maker of drugstore nail polishes for their range of colors and formulas that are widely available and affordable. OPI is my favorite nail polish brand just for their range of colors, but I think the brush in this one is superior to the standard fluffy ones like OPI and practically every other nail polish brand has.
