Advantage 3in1 cleanser+ Cerave moisturizing cream= the best skin I've had in years! I love this combo
I like to keep my routine pretty simple and its hard for me to stick to a routine that has 3 or more steps, this has been simple and effective. I had been having horrible breakouts and an explosion of blackheads and decided to try something new, the benzoyl peroxide caught my eye so I bought it. After a week my skin was pretty clear I do still have one or two small pimples but thats better than having countless.
I used it day and night. Simply washed my face then moisturized and I think Cerave help my skin from drying out. This doesn't wash off makeup so on days I did have to wash makeup off I used a bar of soap then clean &clear and moisturize..
Products Ive used in the past: Acne.org, most neutrogena acne washes, noxzema, aveeno continued >>
HG cleaner for me, hands down. Only cleanser i have used for the past 4+ years. My face loves BP and in Canada we only make 5% but that does the trick. Thsi face wash always leaves my face tight like sh*t, but i apply cream and im good to go. Any time that ive had a break out from changing foundations, etc., this face wash has always cleared them right up.
Cleanser can be found (in Canada) at Wal-Mart and Shoppers Drug Mart. Wal-Mart sells it for cheaper, around $8.00, Shoppers for about $13. It doesn't have a lot of cleansing beads, but it is enough to do something.
I have bleached so many towels, headbands, and shirts because of this cleanser, but HEY IT WORKS!

Overall all this product is great. I was suffering from really a really bad breakout and this cleared up my skin with a week. It didn't clear it up completely but with continued use im sure it will. I find that as far as exfoliatling goes, its more on the gentle side so any time i want a deeper clean i add some sea salt to the mix.

On a different website, this was rated five stars! So, of course, I thought this would be an excellent product to try out. It helped with my acne a little, but not as much as I was hoping. It might be because I only used it once a day, just because me and benzoyl peroxide don't get along :( But I will not continue to use this product, for one certain reason. It made my face extremely oily!! :( Which is uncommon for me, 'cause my face is more dry than oily! I had these oil glances on my forehead, and my check were all shiny! Strange. So no, I won't buy this again :(
This is the my favorite facial cleanser. I can't do the 3-step products like Pro-Active or some of the higher end sets. First of all it is too much for my skin and it takes too long, lol. I love this stuff, its quick and easy. I use it at night before bed and a little bit in the shower in the morning. I really like how it cleans and exfoliates at the same time. It leaves my skin feeling fresh, but I do need some kind of moisturizer afterwards. The only complaint I have about this cleanser is that it's not so easy to find (in my area). I used to be able to find it at Walmart, but it seems they have quit carrying it. CVS doesn't have it, nor does Target. The only place I've consistently found this cleanser is at Walgreens. It is a bit pricier there, but a lot less than expensive sets. It works fairly well, I wouldn't say it makes my face completely clear, but it keeps big nasty breakouts from happening and yes it does do well with blackheads. And it does easily bleach towels and pillow cases even after you've washed it off well. I'd suggest using a white towel or one you don't care about. Same with the pillow cases and even shirts.

So I had very similar experiences to two of the other reviewers. About 2 years ago I had an allergic reaction to Proactiv where my entire face swelled up and went lobster red and haven't dabbled in benzoyl peroxide since. Since it had been so long and the BP content was lower than proactiv, I wanted to at least try it out. So I massaged it all over my face, careful to avoid the eyes and rinsed it off fairly quickly.
The next morning my left eyelid is swollen up, and my neck and jawline are very itchy. I didn't get the exact same reaction as before but I'm guessing BP is totally a no no for me even though I don't really have sensitive skin. Be aware of this reaction, it has happened to 3 reviewers now and most of us don't classically have sensitive skin.
I'm going to see if I just use it as spot treatment below my eyes if I get the same reaction. Will try and post results.
I'm posting this for women 40 and over, who still have problems with breakouts (I cannot speak for younger ladies).
My doctor suggested this to help clear my sparse spots. I have oily skin that gets easily dehydrated and let me tell you, this stuff is harsher than paint stripper. I used it sparingly and made sure I rinsed thoroughly. It dried my skin to the point of painful tightening. That was not all. The skin around my eyes (although I of course avoided putting this stuff directly on that part) became red, uber-dry, creppy (I never had that problem on my eyelids), and painful. I used to use it twice a day. Not anymore! What I do now is use it only if I have a breakout, exclusively ON THAT breakout, and make sure I rinse "downwards." That is, I wet my hands and pass them over the affected areas in a downwarad motion before splashing water all over my face.
That solved the problem and the irritation around my eyes has disappeared and my skin does not feel tight and over dry anymore. I now use only DHC's Mild Soap to cleanse my skin. But it did give me a fright, I can tell you. I said I would not re purchase this because the tube will last me forever since I use it so sparingly now. I'm sure it's effective on younger, more resilient skins, so I'm not condemning it completely. But women 30 and over should be very careful with this.
It's all very well to trust your doctor. But I would suggest your listen to your skin, as much as you listen to him. If I had waited and "been patient," like I was told to, I probably would have no eyelids left, and the rest of my skin would be a disaster area now. Don't wait till the problem gets too bad that you have to spend the rest of your life correcting it. And at the first signs of trouble, seek professional help immediately. I hope this helps someone.
For reference my skin is combo/dry clog prone, somewhat sensitive.
I typically am super picky and only use very gentle cleansers, but gave this one a try when I broke out like mad from a new supplement. The cleanser is very thick and creamy, with a small scattering of exfoliating granules. I'm against physical exfoliation, in favor of chemical exfoliation, but there aren't enough granules to be a problem.
I use this only at night to avoid over-drying my skin. Post cleanse my skin feels slightly tight but for the results I'm happy to slather on moisturizer. After about 2 weeks of use my skin is crystal clear.. to the point that people are asking what I'm doing differently; even the slightly cloggy areas have cleared.
The only downside is that this leaves enough BP on my skin to bleach the pillowcases, even when I rinse well.
Will update when I finish the tube but so far this is looking like a keeper.

Has 5% benzoyl peroxide in a mineral oil and petrolatum base. Why? I did not notice any improvement in breakouts whilst using this product. Has a light scent. I much prefer AcneFree's benzoyl peroxide cleanser to this.
this product is amazing. Ive struggled with breakouts for 14 years and been through every product and spent so much money searching for a miracle cure and this is it. this is by far the best, keeps my face clear, its very cheap and if i run out and breakout when a buy a new tube it clears my face again within 2 to 3 days. Its a must have! lol i wish it would've been out during my teenage years!
