Love this primer! I got it for $8 with coupons at Ulta, which was a great deal. The consistency is very reminiscent of Smashbox primer= DUPE ALERT.
The primer is instantaneously matifying on the skin. This is perfect because I have been using Too Faced Oil-free Primed and Poreless Primer for around $28 dollars. I was a little disappointed with the small size of the tube, but price-wise it is the better deal anyway. This formula is a tinge thinner than the Too Faced primer. Overall, it is very similar clear gel that comes out of a squeeze tube.
Your skin will appear pore-less and smooth. Just test it out on your hand and see! It makes my makeup wear longer too.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this primer. I will most likely repurchase, unless I find something better. This is paraben free!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!! From the very moment you finish applying the primer, you can see that the skin is smoothed out and pores are no longer visible. It makes my skin look so flawless, airbrushed and velvety. It does somewhat mattify your foundation on the other hand. So if you're looking for a dewy look this probably isn't the primer for you. Also it's a squeeze bottle, which is the only thing I hate about this product. I prefer having a pump, it just makes life easier when you're running out a bit. But overall this is my new HG primer<3 don't listen to the bad reviews!!!
*2 WEEK UPDATE*
Sweet baby Jesus this primer has fixed my skins hideous little bumps on my cheeks, and has evened out the color. I guess the "herbs" are really working on my face, I dunno but this is heaven in a freaking bottle. Buy it!!!
HORRIBLE. My skin is combination, yet I usually don't have a huge problem with an oily face. When I wore this under my make up my face got oily hours later. By the end of the day my face looked extremely cakey. I have better results using plain old Cetaphil face lotion. Would not let any of my friends buy this. I couldn't even finish the bottle, I was that disappointed.
I just recently got into wearing foundation, so I would just put it on on its own, and later on in the day I would notice how gross and huge my pores would be from the foundation settling into my skin!! So my sister had this, but never uses it so I put it on, and after a 10+ hour day, my skin still looked great! I don't know if this primer adds longevity to your makeup, but mine's looked great anyways. I also love the way this smoothes out my skin. I will definitely buy this again when I run out.
I'm really disappointed by this primer. I expected it to be perfect for me based on the reviews I saw on here, unfortunately it did not work for me. I've tried too faced primed and poreless pure, studio gear primer, and the hard candy sheer primer and they all caused me to breakout. My skin just doe not cooperate with the silicone's in these products. If you have sensitive acne-prone skin, do not waste your money on this.
I have Mac's prep and prime skin base visage but seldomly use it. Hate the sparkles which accentuate any bumps or dry patches on my skin. LOVE this primer! I have never tried smashbox and won't either because this one has become my HG: smooth and makeup looks fresh all day. I only started getting slightly oily after 6hrs or so and a little blot powder fixed that. Palladio is scoring high on my list. Check out the eyeshadow primer too; it works wonders!
Didn't work for me, I'm not a fan of gooey "velvety" primers. Made me extra oily (how!? right???) but I gave it to my mom who also suffers from oily skin and it did the trick for her.
Point is, if you have touchy acne-prone sensitive skin... don't buy this.
If you have normal oily skin, go for it!
i love this so much! its EXACTLY like smashbox, its a bit creamy-er actually. its a gel, and smooths out all the little bumps and creases, it keeps foundation on allllll day! the only thing is, it DOES have an expiration date, i believe its a pretty natural product(the whole line is...dont quote me on that though! haha) so if you dont use it in about 6 months, it doesnt work AS well. ive repurchased, and repurchased again, the only thing i dont like is the tube, its kind of hard to get the last bit out when youre almost done.
Having used this primer for well over a year now, I can honestly say that it works fantastically well for my skin, and I will continue to repurchase. I have dry-ish skin, but still get the typical T-zone shine by midday, so I apply the primer to my sunscreened moisturized skin, only concentrating on my nose and chin. Atop the primer, my concealer (L'oreal TrueMatch) just glides on in a smooth finish, ready for a dusting of loose powder. My pores remain smooth and invisible through the entire day, and I tend to blot my nose only once in the afternoon and apply a touch-up of compact powder at that time. Essentially, this primer ensures that my complexion looks fresh from morning until bedtime. I've never experienced any blemishes or clogged pores related to the primer (many other ones have caused this in the past for me). I agree with the other posters who reference that this primer is better recommended for the less oily complexions. Personally, I love that it lends such smoothness while remaining non-drying. I'm not certain, but for me it seems to even have somewhat of a humectant effect, in fact. For my fellow MUAers with dry or dry-normal complexions, I think this product is worth a try. I purchase mine at Sally Beauty Supply, where it tends to cost somewhere between $9 and $11, depending upon sales and coupons.
This primer isn't the best I've used, but it's acceptable. I sometimes wear it alone & other times wear it under a powder or foundation. I love how lightweight it is & how smooth it feels on my face. However, I do feel like it just sits there & I noticed no difference in regards to making my makeup longer-lasting. I'd purchase this primer again though as & just use it on days I only wear a powder. I won't be using it again underneath a foundation.
