The formulation of this lipstick is very opaque and smooth. It is not drying and last for 3-5 hours even through eating. The color itself, is a flattering strawberry red. The color is flattering on both warm and cool skin tones. for example, I am an NC35 in MAC. The packaging is very beautiful and looks and feels expensive. The price is a bit steep for me but the color is so flattering. I also found that this red lipstick DID NOT BLEED! i wore it without lip liner all day and it did not budge. It also fades to a very beautiful stain and is not patchy or awkward.

I own 4 of these lip sticks and I love them!! They're moisturizing and they do last for a good amount of time. The only downfall is the price.....$45 bucks each... I know you will ask is it worth it?? Its just like asking someone is a Louis Vuitton or Chanel bag worth the price?? Probably not, but its just so luxurious to have..The packaging is very chic.. But just like anything high end product, we are just paying more for the Label then the actual product.. Vanilla suede is a very unique color, but be warned it is not for all skin tones.
I own Cherry Lush, Smoke Red, Dusk Pink and Vanilla Suede, and I do have to work with Vanilla suede to look good with my skin tone. Remember this a luxurious item..

I hate to love this lipstick but I do. At $45 a pop, it had better perform miracles. Unfortunately, it does and that's why I've got three of them (Cherry Lush, Smoke Red and Warm Sable). My biggest problem with Nars is that while I love the opaque colors and the staying power of the mattes, they're ridiculously drying. The Tom Ford lipsticks are richly pigmented, look mostly matte on me, last forever and are still non-drying and actually, seem to be quite moisturizing for my lips.
Cherry lush is a cool red and it makes my teeth look really white. I've had it on for hours with two cups of coffee and a can of Sprite Zero. I usually can't keep lipstick on when I'm drinking coffee. I'm justifying it by figuring that if I have to reapply other lipsticks three times as often, it really works out to $15 instead of $45 (ha ha). of course, I'm too lazy to reapply other lipsticks that often so it's a bogus comparison, although it's nice to be able to keep some color on my lips most of the time.

I was at Saks last Friday and decided to have a look at Tom Ford's new line of lipsticks. After trying on a few, I settled on Pink Dusk (which I will review separately) and this one, Cherry Lush.
Just a few comments first: all of the lippies in this line are very pigmented and opaque. They are somewhat creamy, though do not give the same amount of "slip" as YSL Rouge Volupte. The pigmentation is much denser than Chanel Rouge Cocos -one swipe will really get the full color payoff. The color you see in the tube is the color you get on your lips. My natural lip color, which is pretty pink, did not show through even the nude color he has in this line. The finish is a demi-matte - which works well for the color choices. Also, these are very long-lasting without being drying.
The rectangular white enamel packaging is quite elegant and substantial feeling (ie. Heavy) in the hand. I do wish it had a magnetic closure, like the Guerlain Rouge G's, Armani Rouge D'Armani's, etc. That would have made it more luxurious. This lippie retails for $45, which is the same as the aforementioned Guerlain.
Now, onto Cherry Lush. The color is a cool-toned, bright cherry red color. I mean BRIGHT. This color is not for the faint of heart. It has some very minimal pearl - not so much for shimmer, but more for color dimension, if that makes sense. My lips look very full and luscious with this lippie. I was able to wear it without a liner, and experienced minimal to no bleeding around the lipline. Now, I do have to mention that this can pull a bit fuschia depending on the lighting, so if you work better with warm reds, you may want to try another shade.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this lipstick, and would repurchase again if I ran out. continued >>
