I have only been recently introduced to this brand and I am already quite impressed with the quality of their 'liquid metal' eye shadow range. The colours are simply gorgeous and by far this is the only brand that I have come across that makes wonderful shades of metallic creamy based eyeshadows with great pigments. I have also used MAC ones but I think this brand outdones MAC's metallic eyeshadows. This particular colour goes with my skin tone quite well - only a little is needed and the colour can be built up beautifully. Two things to watch out for though - one is that the liquid metal eyeshadows and the creamy based one do tend to collect moisture and do need to be blotted with a tissue every now and then to get rid of the moisture. Otherwise the consistency gets too gooey! And the other thing is that this brand is expensive. I don't know how much it costs a company to make a good quality eyeshadow, the price seems to be going up and up with time!!

So i dont like the way the tub opens, took me a while to figure it out :) It is also a bit hard to get the product onto a brush. (MAC 266) BUT persevere and you will be rewarded
It is fantastic. A pro's product that shouldnt be used on the whole lid as that is not what it is made for. It will crease if you do this. I use it in thin lines over/under/around my eyes just for a bit of zing. It is a product to be experimented with, on the lips, cheeks or whereever you fancy! It is such a strong, striking, pure colour (i bought phenomena). Illamasqua living up to their name.
Nice wee extra treat to add to your make-up collection.
:)

A truly beautiful metallic color !! I got the palette with the 4 colors and I love them all, Solstice is my fave but I had to admit that Surge creased on me even thou I wore it on top of Mac Soft Ochre, but it wasn't too bad either.
I discovered that I can apply an eyeshadow in a different color on top of these Liquid Metals and the outcome is fabulous! give it a go and you might be as surprised as me.
I'm NC 30 and this color Surge looked a little olivey on my lids, no too silver and no too warm or cool.... just neutral but. With a pop of shine. I took one lippie of due to the slight but ( at least for me ) noticible creasing.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to love this product. REALLY. It was just so gorgeous in the packaging, the swatches were amazing, and they looked SO good upon initial application. I got both the 4-color palette with Enrapture (copper) , Surge (dirty silver), Phenomenon (pure silver) and Solstice (gold) along with the single color in Superior (deep royal blue). Upon first swatching it I knew there was no way this wouldn't crease on even someone with the driest eyelids on the planet, with tons of primer underneath. So I thought I would try my luck at using this as an eyeliner - applied very thin. Still no luck, it creased on me within minutes and made it look like my eye makeup was melting. It ended up being worse than the NARS cream shadows and beating those out is no easy feat.

If you want to have the same kind of metallic effect, MAC's pro metallic pigments would be a good place to start. I took a little Platinum, mixed with just a pinch of the Gold and it turned out to be a pretty good dupe for Surge. Such a shame that these products didn't work for me, but at what they are being sold for, the quality of the product and wear needs to be A LOT better. I will be returning both the palette and Superior and will never repurchase.

I saw this product used on a makeup tutorial and immediately wanted it, the colour is vivid, a dirty silver thats easily applied and is really metallic. I attempted to use it to accompany a grey smokey eye, I found the product itself was creamy therefore it is easy to apply and blend, however after wearing it for a while it did start to crease horribly and turn into a bit of a cakey mess! I do have oily lids but i did prime the eye before application and it still creased! It's a shame as I do rate the colour quite highly and it is perfect for a christmas/winter look however it does not wear well for me and I will not be buying this product again!

This product is beautiful when you first apply it, however it will quickly crease (even over TFSI and with another powder e/s over it). As a highlight it would probably work well however I bought it as an cream shadow and at that it fails. If you're looking for an eyeshadow base this colour then I highly recommend MUFE's Aqua Cream in Silver instead as that one is waterproof and stays put all day (even without using a powder over it)

I LOVE this color. It's absolutely gorgeous. The second I saw it I needed to have it. However, the first time I tried it, I wasn't too impressed with its staying power. Some cream shadows are better than others and don't crease throughout the day, but this one does. (Most likely because it's not waterproof). I didn't return it because I want to use it with primers and powders over it in hopes that it will stay on nicely. I still have a lot of hope for this product because it's so gorgeous! It looks good on the tops of cheekbones as a highlighter and also on the collarbone.

This color, surge, is my favorite of Ills 4 liquid metals.(Ive got the palette with all 4 colors in it. Surge is a gorgeous gunmetal shade with a little shimmer. The color looks so good on my lids- really brightens my eyes somehow, not too ott, just right to be noticed but not too bright to be gawked at. So far Ive used it as an e/s- applied to lid and blended towards but not completely into crease with my fingertips. I find its easier to apply with my fingers but to avoid contaminating the product I use a brush to get a tiny bit of it, transfer to the back of my hand and then apply with my fingers. Ive only played with it a couple of times, applying at the end of the day when my regular eyemakeup has faded so Im not sure of the staying power of this. It did melt and settle in the creases and I had to refresh it with my fingertips. I hope that by using a good eyelid primer like udpp or toofaced, that this will hold up better. I know that its almost 100 degrees out so I expect melting but not when Im indoors in the ac. I plan to update this after Ive tried it over various primers.
