Age: 44-55 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair-Medium, Neutral Hair: Brown, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Green

A 20%zinc oxide only sunscreen. I use both chemical and physical ss, and like to have a ss that I can safely keep in my car, knowing that the heat is not degrading the uv protection of all physical filters.
Like any all physical ss, it does have a white cast, but no worse than any of the popular ds brands like Nuetrogena pure and free or Copertone. And it has a much higher percentage of zo than those. It is paraben and vitamin A free.
Highly water resistant, but not too hard to wash off at days end. The cream is fluffy and easy to spread and it is not drying. It does not feel as heavy on as some ss, but it does leave a certain tack that I don't like, but have come to accept as part of many ss. It is not totally matte on my face, but on my body it is. A dusting of powder solves any shine, ends the slight sticky/tacky finish and white cast. I've discovered that if I wear this over a thicker textured silicone primer, it solves any shine issue and makes it even easier to distribute and is helpful to ease any zinc- highlighting dry patches.
Like all other physical ss I've used, over the day the zinc seems to collect in some of the fine lines on my neck and corner of eyes. You of the taught skin will be immune from this. It has a fresh citrus fragrance I find delightful, that fades after 30 min. or so. Skin feels very soothed and protected under this.
I like that I am supporting a small women owned US business with my purchases here. The shipping from Tru Kid, found via Amazon, was fast and included some free samples of other products. 3.5oz = $15.99us, which even adding shipping is a better value than Neutrogena. I would buy this again.

This is the best purely physical sunscreen I've found so far -- non-greasy, easy-to-spread, and light enough to wear on the face. It's rated highly for both high UVA-protection and low toxicity. Its active ingredient is micronized zinc oxide (not nanoparticles). It is completely different in texture from the other purely physical, mostly-natural sunscreens I've tried (Badger, UV Natural, even California Baby). While most of those sunscreens have been on the greasy, pasty side and require a lot of rubbing to spread evenly, this TruKid sunscreen is neither greasy nor pasty, and it spreads and absorbs very quickly and easily. (In fact, it's almost a bit liquidy, to the point that you have to be careful about how much comes out when you open the tube.) It's actually so spreadable and non-greasy that I've started using it on my face as an everyday sunscreen -- it leaves a nice matte finish. The scent is natural and mild. The product contains no parabens, retinyl palmitate, phthalates, or any other ingredients that you're supposed to avoid in sunscreens. Even the tube it comes in is BPA-free.
