Dark Gray: officially described as a matte color and it is. This eyeshadow is such a disappointment. Chalky texture and looks patchy!!!! One of the hardest NYX eyeshadow available. A real shame. I officially DO NOT recommend purchasing this eyeshadow. The color is exactly as described: a dark gray. Patchy medium.full opacity.
I've been looking for a matte darkish gray for a while. Everything is shimmery now, and I have heavily hooded eyes that are getting a bit crepey and definitely don't need disco eyes to make me look even older.
Not too dark - gives me a medium color. Blends easily. Wear is okay - but I've never had a long-wearing eyeshadow, ever, so I don't take a lippie off for that.
If you're looking for a real dark gray for smoky eyes, I'd try something else - it's not quite dark enough for that, especially if you're used to heavily pigmented black eyeshadow.
Edit: I bought this before I tried the Wet & Wild shadows - this isn't as nice - not as creamy or pigmented as those, for reference. continued >>
I'm fairly satisfied with the product. It didn't exceed my expectations colorwise, it could have been a bit more pigmented so you can apply it in 1 stroke instead of 4? but yeah this means you can control the build-up. It's an okay matte sheer-ish gray.
I was very disappointed with this shade - although I love the Black and also Maui. What happened w/ this shade? The color really is lacking in punch and poorly pigmented. Don't like it.
UPDATE: I punching this up a notch. Yeah, the pigment density is not what I hoped for. Compared to the black, which is super dark and sooty, this is not nearly as pigmented. But I found that if I give my lids a thin coat of Nivea or even Vaseline before applying, it is a great improvement. Primed lids are in order, especially w/ this shade.
