it is as natural as it can be. Titanium o/Zinc o. basically sits on top of the skin as a sun block, and reflects the sunlights. It does not sink in your pores and that is why I got this. The other sun lotions sink in with thir harmful ingredients and do lots of damage. This one doesn`t, that is why this is my Nr.1. Another good thing about this is that it doesn`t give you a thick white color on your skin like many others with the same ingredients! So it is good for your skin (no damage) and looks good (no white paste), so I highly recommend. The other product I got is the Kukui Body Silk, that is absolutely amazing, the best natural bodylotion you can get, try it out!!! :-)

This is ranked up there with my Devita Body Block as one of my favorite natural sunscreens. I'm really surprised this hasn't already been reviewed. All of Caribbean Sol products are designed to marine friendly and biodegradable. The spf 25 version uses 9.5% Titanium Dioxide and 3.5% Zinc Oxide as its active ingredients. This scores major points for having minimal inactive ingredients:Organic aloe leaf; wild pansy; green coffee bean extract; hibiscus; cucumber, sunflower & essential oil essence. No weird chemicals and ingredients you can't pronounce!
It applies very well and smoothly for a mineral sunscreen that doesn't use transparent TD or ZO. The key to applying it is to gently smooth it on then pat. Having a light layer of lotion on also makes it glide on easier. This method really reduces the white cast, which fades really quickly anyways. It's not heavy or greasy, but rather it feels moisturizing and relatively light on the skin. It wins the award for best smelling sunscreen pretty much ever. It's a light, tropical fruity smell that isn't cloying or heavy. It lingers lightly after application and I periodically find myself taking a whiff of my arms. :p It hasn't caused any breakout on my face and hasn't irritated my skin at all. It also currently carries a rating of 2 from the EWG.
Retails for around $16 at Whole Foods but if you do some online shopping you can get it in the $10 range. It's a great value considering you get 6 oz. I've used SolGuard at the beach more than once and with diligent reapplication (which you're supposed to be doing every 1-2 hours if you're in direct sun exposure) I didn't burn or even turn red. There's also an spf 4, 8, and 15 available. Overall, it's great product that I highly recommend if you're looking to try a natural/mineral sunscreen. Definitely a re-buy! I've also heard they're developing a sunscreen that uses only transparent Zinc Oxide so keep your eyes peeled in the future. :)
