I've tried different hair straighteners and the best one so far for me is the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it has tourmaline ceramic plates that cause less damage to the hair, plus it keeps my hair soft, shiny and very straight. I totally recommend it !! :D

This is a pretty good straighter. I bought it 2 years ago, and i was blown away with the results. I have somewhat thick wavy hair. All i do is run this through each strand about 3 times, and i get great results. Now, i recently bought a GHD and i can safely say that there is a BIG difference in quality. With the GHD i only run the straighter once and get perfect straight hair. On the other hand, unlike the GHD, I love that i am able to control the temperature with this, i usually set this on 160 - 180 degrees and i don't feel that my hair is being fried (It goes up to 200 degrees i believe). Now the straighter is also fitted with an "ionic shine" setting. It is the green button displayed under the LCD screen. What it claims to do is, you turn it on and the straighter releases some kind of moisture and your left with shiny, glossy, soft hair. Now, honestly i believe this is a big GIMMICK! I do not feel any difference when i turn on the ion shine. I will admit though that my hair feels a little hydrated when i turn it on. I also like how fast this iron takes to heat up, within 30 - 40 seconds it's all heated up and ready to go! I think it's a great straighter; it's not cheap mind you! I think i paid around $100 AUD for this. Whereas i paid $275 for the GHD.

I also want to mention that over time i started noticing that the straighter was not performing as well as when i first bought it. The ionic shine stopped working and the ceramic plates were chipping :S I don’t even straighten my hair everyday! That’s why this gets a 3 instead of a 4 or 5.

This baby is amazing. It blew my mind away.
Unlike with my previous Conair straightener, if you only blow your hair dry (without drying it straight) you can get great results. So I'd do that if I'm in a rush.
I like to get the best results though, so I straighten first with my hair dryer and then I start using my Braun flat iron.
It heats up very fast and there are several heat settings for every hair type out there and the temperature remains constant. i.e. the plates don't cool off below your selected setting.
The plates are unbelievably smooth and my hair runs through it so softly. No tugging, pulling or snapping.
I've used it about four times only and my hair's appearance has improved so much.
I get results exact to what I get when I go to the salon without using any styling products. I would've never thought I can make it. I thought I lacked the skill, but apparently I lacked the tools only.
The IONTEC technology does what it says. I straightened my hair without using it, then I went over one side using it and I was so shocked to see the difference.
Three days after straightening and my hair style is still intact!
You can create lovely curls, too. I'm just not a big fan of curly hair (cuz that's how my hair looks when left to air-dry).
The biggest and worst thing about this starightener is the packaging. I can't believe Braun released a product as such. Firstly, the plastic looks so cheap. Secondly, the buttons and controllers are placed on the outer side where you hold the straightener. I mean what on earth! You can change the settings with your hands if you're not careful. WHY WHY WHY?! Thirdly, the surface is so slippery its hard to have control on it. And finally the cord. It's a very thick cord and the part of it near the iron is long and stiff, so you have to keep the straightener's end off the counter. So yes, it can fall. And while straightening it won't swivel along with your motion. WHYYYYYY?! One lippie off for the poor packaging.
This all doesn't really bother me a whole lot, especially given all the great things it does. It's just that coming from Braun, this is plain sad. I mean it seems like they didn't even let one woman try it before finalizing the external body.
