I can only repeat what all of the other good reviews said. I am a red lipstick fiend and I truly believe that Revlon makes the best reds. This is a beautiful, deep, grownup red. Looks gorgeous on my very fair skin. Feels nice and creamy, isn't drying, staying power is fairly good. Can't think of a single con. Love it.

Beautiful deep red. Not pin-up red but not dark red-brown either. Silky, luxurious and long lasting. Deeper than mac viva glam I but less brown than dubonnet. I'm nc30 Asian w yellow undertones.

Best red tone for my skin. It tends to look better with warmer reds, oranges or brick colors.
Colorbusrt lipsticks are my favorite product from Revlon. They have the most pigment, are fairly moisturizing, decent wear and great color selection.
I love the classic packaging too.
It is perfect.
Use it with a liner for extra wear. and maybe dab it with a silicon translucent powder followed by a second coat to insure it stays all day!

Bit expensive for a chemist lippie but totally worth it -- probably the best shade of red you can get for less than AU$30 out there. Not very drying on me, staying power okay-to-quite-good. No discernible smell which is brilliant. Best part of it is that I can wear it two ways: 1. slap it on thick to get that noir-ish vamp look, 2. lightly dab then blot for a lipstain alternative

I was on a quest for the perfect red lipstick and had high hopes for this one. This one turned out extremely similar to another one I had, Revlon's In the Red matte lipstick. Crimson is like a more satin version of that one. Both are pretty much the same color--a neutral red with medium brown undertones, making it a darker red. It's a touch too dark and brown for it to be my holy grail red lippie (I'm fair skinned (NW15)). But it's still a great color for both cool- and warm-toned folks. The only reason I took a lippie off is because of the formula--it just sits as a thin layer on my lips, not really melting in with my lips or leaving a stain (which is something I like). It's not moisturizing, although it doesn't take any moisture away either.

I have finally found the perfect Chanel-esque, drugstore red lipstick that's elegant and doesn't make me feel like a clown. It is a deep rich red (perfect for my NC40 skintone) and the formula is quite moisturizing. This one is classy enough to wear to work and the quilted pattern on the packaging is what caught my eye (I've never bought a Revlon lipstick before).
The only reason I can't rate this a 5 is because of its staying power which is virtually non-existent. I recommend filling your lips in with a nude liner first just to set the lipstick in place. Dabbing a little bit of baby powder and blotting should also help prolong weartime.

I am NC40, so it's hard to find a dark red lipstick that doesn't look brown/gothic on me. I took a plunge and spent $12 on this lipstick at SDM. It sort of pained me to spend Sephora-esque prices at the drugstore but 80% of my extensive lipstick collection comes from Revlon and high hopes. And for once, those hopes are met!
Texture: Amazing. Buttery-smooth, doesn't bleed. One swipe per lip is all I need.
Price: A bit high, but cheaper at Walmart/during sales. Worth it, though!
Colour: Deep red. Truly crimson. Very flattering on my Asian skin tone.
Packaging: Classy, quilted, sturdy
I reach for this colour more than I do any other reds, and I have about 10.

Thanks to fellow MUAers they recommended me this red lipstick for my warm, yellow tones skin. The packaging is sleek and looks very expensive. The formula is very good as it is not drying. Be sure to use a lip liner so the color doesn't bleed. I suggest blotting and patting powder on top of the tissue and doing the blotting another time.
Overall, very pleased!

Absolutely gorgeous 1940s film noir dark red. Very sophisticated, very polished. Fantastic with dark or black clothes. I have an old Estee Lauder l/s in a very similar color that has been discontinued and for which way back when I paid double the price of this Revlon. Lovely formula, too. I love this!

This is a great dark red. Very true color; most reds show up slightly pink or raspberry on me but not this one. Straight up red, no pink, no orange. I am warm toned and on me this is neutral leaning toward cool. I am pretty fair and for being quite a deep shade this is suprisingly flattering.
Love the packaging, very chic and high end looking. Price isn't bad, I paid $8 at Ulta.
Because this is a darker, more pigmented shade, I find it has better lasting power than the lighter shades in the colorburst line. Lasts several hours, needs minor touch ups after eating.
Formula is creamy and looks smooth on. Not very moisturizing, can feel a bit drying after a while, but a small con for this since the color is so fantastic. Very slightly shiny but mostly matte finish.
I think you need a liner for this or it can get a bit messy.
Overall, definitely recommend!

I didn't notice Crimson until now. I prefer it to the average classic or cherry red because it enhances your skin and really compliments your skin tone. Most reds are just red, and they seem to be the entire focus of your face. This is sophisticated dark red, but it isn't quite a brick red. You can wear other earth tones to play it up. I love the texture, and this shade looks far more expensive than it is. The pigment is pure, it has a subtle shine, and it lasts. The second pic is really true to the shade, but the others seem different. More blotted down or pink.

I love this color! I was in a wedding a few weeks ago and I planned on wearing red lipstick but had none (not much of a red kinda gal) but my friend told me about this color and said Jessica Alba is known for it. So I got it on sale and fell in love! It stays on well and my husband is enjoying the new me! I usually wearing pinks or corals and he says its different but nice especially since it doesn't smear on him when he gives me a kiss! ;-) if you're looking for a brick red try this one!

Overall: Creamy, long lasting, intense colour.
Great buy, you can sometimes fine it on sale for $6.99 CDN at any drugstores or Walmart. Enough said, for something that works this well, just go and buy it now.

The packaging is great; beautiful and classy, and is not so flimsy as to fall apart within 2 days of being in my purse (I'm looking at you, Cover Girl). The color is smooth and silky, the texture is not slippery or waxy, it just feels like a very thin layer of pigment on my lips. The finish is not quite matte, but with a hint of gloss that makes the dark color less severe. On my NC 30 skin, it is a dark brick color. I've worn it with 1 coat blended out to make a dark bitten lip stain, and with 2 coats for a darker, more dramatic effect. Both look amazing. This is a shade I think is better suited for those with warm skin tones.

Seriously bright red on me! I have very pale skin and was looking for a deep, flattering red. This is very red! It is a bit too much for me, but I am keeping it. It looks pretty when swirled together with another, lighter color. I would not wear it alone, and I probably will not repurchase.

Along with the Plum and Chocolate shades, Crimson is my favorite Colorburst. It's a rich brick-red shade that just could end up being a HG red for those of us with medium, olive and dark skin. It's warm in undertone and not too neon bright which is a welcome relief! Advertisements were right about the "lightweight feel" which I must say takes getting used to, you almost want to check and make sure you really did put lipstick on. It's not drying at all, and actually feels very smooth and buttery. I love the Dior-esque packaging, so chic. Definitely one of my go-to lipsticks now.

Every time I say I've found a perfect red lipstick, another red comes along to be added to the list. I can't remember the last time I bought a Revlon lipstick, and when the Colorburst line came out, I held out for a long time before buying Crimson and Raspberry in a two-for-one deal. Raspberry is a beautiful reddish pink rose, but it was Crimson that really makes me happy. Crimson is a deep soft red with a touch of brown. It looks like a blush or bitten lips. It doesn't scream red, it doesn't make my lips stand out, it doesn't look garish. It just looks pretty and natural against my pale complexion and dark hair, and it makes my lips look fresh and plump. Perfect!
The Colorburst formula contains squalane, sweet almond oil, vanilla extract, and emollients, so it is extremely creamy and smooth. The pigment is amazing and lasts for quite a while!

I thought I had already found my best red shade when I tried true red from the colourburst range, but that was 'til I discovered crimson. Crimson is now officially my HG red lipstick. It's a vibrant, saturated red, timelessly classic and very chic. It's quite neutral and I should imagine it would be flattering for those with either warm or cool skin. (my skin is cool). Unlike many other red shades I am able to wear this colour proudly, rather than it wearing me.
The texture is pleasant, creamy and light and as smooth to apply as a lip balm, even though you pretty much get perfect colour payoff with one swipe. However like its other stablemates the light creamy formulation means constant touch ups unless you start as you mean to go on and apply diligently with a brush, use lip liner and blot and powder carefully then reapply. High maintenance, but worth it. Wield that pretty quilted case with a flourish, and apply with panache!

Needed a red lipstick for dance performances, and I was a bit nervous since I had never worn lipstick before. According to MUA, the Colorstay lipsticks seemed like a good bet - and this is true! Every time my friends borrow it they comment on how smooth and creamy the texture is.
I love the color! Crimson is a beautiful darkish red. I'm about an NC40-45. It's super pigmented and it applies really smooth and matte. I apply lip liner, then this. I've worn it for at least 5 performances and it's held up beautifully for each of them. It's pretty bold so I wouldn't dive for it on a day-to-day basis, but then again I don't wear makeup daily.
Based on this purchase, I'd recommend the Colorstay lipstick line, and I'd recommend this color to all of you with dark and tan skin tones.

I have been searching for the perfect red lipstick and this one is the best so far. Its like a deep classic red and it isn't too bright like russian red which did not look right on me and it isn't too dark like fire down below(NARS). And it was super cheap!!
