i love love love this moisturizer so much. being of asian descent, my skin works really well with shiseido products because they do a good job of making my skin feel good. although i have to say, it doesn't do that great a job of moisturizing (i'm currently in the semi-depressing process of treating acne and so my skin is somewhat drier than normal), it's lightweight and feels so good on my skin so i pretty much feel compelled to have all the other products in my skincare regimen revolve around this one product. as for the mattifying part: i didn't buy this lotion initially because of that claim--i don't feel like i have a shine issue--but whenever i use other moisturizers i notice that my skin does look shinier...so i usually end up layering this on top.

I have started to use this line for my daily routine and must say that i LOVEEE it!!! I have a oily t-zone and it helps control the oils. Towards the end of my working day i can see some of the oil on my nose but it does a great job for the most part of the day. A little powder or a blotting paper and looks good again.

Perfect product for summer for those with oily skin; it leaves skin fresh and skin is breathing well; it is easy apply make up soon after application

I like using this in the summer when I'm not going out and so don't need sunscreen in my moisturiser. It isn't moisturising enough to use as a makeup base or to use in winter. Does not cause breakouts at all and a small amount covers plenty. Very light and does not clog my pores like other heavier moisturisers will do.

yeah this is oil free, really light , doesnt break you out, doesnt irritate skin. but doesnt help with shine. doesnt make an amazing difference.

Because I have acne prone/oily skin, I wanted to try a moisturizer that was oil free and mattifying. At first try, the moisturizer is more like a gel rather than a cream that glides onto the skin with ease. There is no weird scent and has a very light consistency. It did not break me out and felt very light and fresh on my skin. The only thing I have against this moisturizer is that it does not moisturize my face as much as I want it to. Overall, its a good moisturizer for oily skin.

This came as a sample with the blotting sheets and sample wipes. I absolutely love the blotting sheets but I don't love this moisturizer at all. It makes my skin nice and soft but it doesn't keep my skin oil free at all! My skin became just as oily as it would have without this product. It did absolutely nothing for my skin except make it soft after I applied it. The sample container is adorable though. I will not purchase the full size any time soon.

im not sure if i will buy this again... it was an okay moisturizer for the spring/summer season but once the cold weather came it did nothing for me in fact it got my skin drier ~~ the formula is not strong enough to keep your skin hydrated in cold weather
i like the consistency its thin and it didnt feel thick, sticky, greasy on my skin which i really liked ! good for hot seasons
might buy again for spring/summer if i dont find anythin else i want to try out (:

Pros :

-last along time
-only need 3/4 of a pump for yur face, sometimes even less
Cons:
-expensive
-not enuf moisture in the winter
-mattifies only for 4 hours or less
-not reccomended for dry skin

For my oily skin I use Clinique's DDMG during the summer and in the winter I use this moisturizer of Shiseido. Because it's not as mattifying as clinique's gel, but for the winter when even an oily skin needs a more hydrating cream, this one is perfect.
Pro's:
- gives your skin a dewy finish thorugh out the day, yet mattifying, even when I layer it with a serum, my skin still feels soft and non-oily!
- really light
- not irritating
- 1 pump is what I need for the whole face
- comes in a beautiful glass bottle with pump, looks good + hygienice
Con's:
- a bit pricey
- may not be mattifying enough during hot summers

Pros:
-lightweight
-sinks into the skin quite well
-the bottle looks really good
-a little goes a long way, and it lasts very long despite being a small bottle
Cons:
-not moisturising enough (I have dry cheeks)
-very bad in terms of oil control, i have a very oily t-zone though, but it only stayed oil-free up to 1-2 hours
-i think it gave me whiteheads and more blackheads
-a little too expensive for what it is
Overall, I would not repurchase this again but it might work for someone whose skin is more even (e.g. oily all over).

I bought a trial kit that came with a cleanser, toner and this moisturizer. I love how lightweight this moisturizer is - my skin feels so good and soft and the moisturizer absorbs into my skin almost immediately (This could be because my cleanser is a bit too drying for me). This is a really good moisturizer but a full size bottle is quite expensive - hoping to find a cheaper alternative that is equally as good! I have recently discovered the laneige moisturizing range and I think I'll try out their products before deciding if I should repurchase this. Another drawback of this product is that it isn't very effective in terms of oil control.

My skin is very very sensitive as well as drying in the winter time and oily in the summer time. This product made my skin (which was super rough from acne products) very soft. I use it in the summer time and wait a while then put on my sunscreen. Since this is a *Matifying* moisturizer, it kind of dries out the skin in the winter time, so I double it up with a thicker moisturizer. My skin didn't breakout from this product nor did it become red. It's very hydrating and lightweight. The only problem is that it's kind of pricey...so I wait until there's a sale...

I'm on and off the Shiseido band wagon for years starting from my early teens to now in my early 30's. I love the way this moisterizer goes on, very light and soothing. The bottle design is great! But like many other reviewers, a few hours later my face is one oily mess.

ok, so I really like this stuff for summer.
Not sticky, filmy, greasy.
Its light, airy, goes on very nicely, need a drop or two only, wears great under makeup, BUT: yesterday, after 2 months on this stuff, I woke up, put on Neutrogena 3-1 acne treatment gel, this lotion and then Lancome primer, as always, was putting on my foundation and OOPS: FLAKES ALL OVER MY CHIN!!!!!!!. never happened before and I am not sure if this was just a fluke, but I had to forgo all cosmetics on the chin for the day and I was a little urked. I think I may just let it be for the week, but if it continues, i may have to switch.
PS: SMELLS DIVINE!
UPDATE: OCTOBER 23RD/2011: it was the moisturizer. had to swtich to something a little bit MORE moisterizing. BOOOO

I love the bottle design but the only good thing about the moisturizer is that it controlled oil production for a few hours. It really dries out my skin comparing to other acne moisturizers I've used but my nose is still oily after a few hours.

Loved how it felt on my skin. Made my oily skin feel smooth like a baby's behind. However, the price isn't worth it, imo.

I am still on the fence with this moisturizer. Ive been using it for over three weeks and its ok. I mean for the price it doesnt really moisturize that well. Also, it keeps my face matte for about two hours and then my face becomes really oily. I dont think ill repurchase it because it just doesnt live up to its promises. However, ill keep using it to see any changes. I do have to admit I love the packaging because it is very sanitary(love the pump) and very pretty:)

It's a pretty good moisturizer and I use it every night and weekend mornings when I'm staying indoors. I'm quite upset though coz it doesn't have SPF which means I can't really use it on school mornings.
