This really helped calm my skin down - it's not as red or easily irritated as before and breakouts have decreased. It's very moisturizing. It's a little bit greasy since I have naturally oily/combo skin, but it feels really good when my skin dries out in the winter. Once the weather warms up I use it as a night cream and something lighter during the day. I find the scent pleasant and light and it disappears completely within minutes after applying it.
Good price, nice informative packaging and I like the glass pump bottle. Will definitely have to keep a bottle on hand at all times.

I really wanted to love this but couldn't make it past 2 applications. My moody skin got along with this and the ingredient list is simple and has good stuff in it. Sadly though here is patchouli essential oil in this and it's SO STRONG! I've been wearing patchouli fragrances since '94 and I love the scent so much so the fact I couldn't handle it in this cream was a bit upsetting. It did not fade at all during the day and I could smell it on my face all day long. It was like walking in a cloud of patchouli/hotdogs/rubber and I was afraid that people near me would think I'd doused myself in the patchouli. The ingredient list looks great and I'm already a fan of shea butter since my moody skin loves it. The glass bottle makes me happy so I won't have to worry about chemicals in plastic leaching into the product. Also it comes with a pump (!) so the cream stays germ free. The packaging and the container looks like it would be more of a high end product so that's why I never gave the line a chance the past couple years (and since it was on sale at Whole Foods I then took a look last week). The ounces and price really blew my socks off and the whole line is like $27 and under. So I'm blathering on about this product because I'm thrilled to see a line that 1) it works and 2) is packaged in a healthy manner and 3) doesn't cost a bazillion bucks and 4) contains alot of product and a little will go a long way, perhaps 6 months and 5) some of the money goes to help women in Africa. Whew! That was a long list. So again great product but stinky smell.I might continue using this but I don't know.... EDIT 8/26/10 Upping this to a 5. I've gotten used to the smell and found that if I shake the bottle then the oils and cream inside mix up and the odor is lessened. I am willing to put up with the ,er,stink due to how well my skin gets along with this product. No breakouts or clogged pores and looks great under sunscreen and powder foundation. So happy I found this and will buy again!

If you have rosacea and you are looking for a good moisturizer, I urge you to try this product. Alaffia's Neem and Shea Butter Recovery Face Cream is pretty much excellent in every way. The consistency is thick, but soft and buttery. It absorbs immediately, leaving your skin soft and hydrated without feeling greasy. It has a patchouli scent, but I didn't find it overpowering. The cream is very gentle and has a short list of simple but powerful ingredients. It keeps my chronically dry skin moisturized all day long and if I wear it to bed, I wake up with soft, happy skin. Redness is always still around (we Rosaceans know how this goes), but much diminished. Love, love, LOVE this product.

This facial lotion/cream comes in a pump bottle, it's made of neem leaf extract and unrefined shea butter and other natural ingredients. This lotion is for acne prone, oily or dry skin. Neem is supposed to be antibacterial/anti-inflamatory. The lotion is moisturizing and absorb into my skin quickly. I've been using this lotion for about a couple of weeks now, I even uses this lotion after I had a facial peel and it doesn't sting and it feels soothing. I haven't had any adverse reaction or breakouts from this lotion so far so I think it's safe for my skin. The other thing I like about this is that it makes my skin soft and moisturize without looking so shiny and greasy. The only cons that I have about this lotion is that it smell kinda weird, I guess it must be the neem or some other natural plant oil in the ingredients, but I the smell goes away after a while, but I guess I don't mind since I'd rather be using something natural verses wearing a bunch of fragrances.
