This is the only product that helps my scalp. I have seb derm. The above reviewer would benefit from washing their hair more. an oily seb derm scalp should be washed everyday if possible. but I like this shampoo for its higher concentration of zinc than most shampoos. My dermatologist recommended it and I'm on my second bottle. Also it doesn't have a lot of bad ingredients in it which I am picky about.
I bought a bottle of this shampoo at Dermstore.com for about $12 (10% off if you add it to you favorites and free shipping). I like the bottle the shampoo comes in. It only requires one hand to press the top open (no screwing off caps). The shampoo is a creamy peach color. Not too runny and smells pleasant. With all that said, it doesn't quite work as well as other products I've tried. I bought it for seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. I guess I don't respond too well to pyrithione zinc which is the active ingredient. It shampoos well but doesn't keep away the itchiness caused by SD. Well, to clarify, it doesn't keep the itchiness away as long as other products I use (I only wash my hair twice a week). I respond better to sulfur products (I make my own, see my notepad for recipes) but wanted some rotation products. I also use Everclean dandruff shampoo from Home Health and that works better (active ingredient is salicylic acid). I would not repurchase this because it doesn't work for me but it's definitely worth a try especially if you wash your hair more often than twice a week. Pyrithione zinc works well for many with SD and this is 2%.
