I am using my second of these. I think that it's a really good mascara that do hold my curl. Though I don't think it gives you that "false lash effect", but I still think it's way better than so many other mascaras that I've tried. I use it for everyday and I never have any trouble with it.
- holds your curl
- lasts all day
- gives a great volume
- no false lash effect
Overall it's a great mascara to a acceptable price. I would repurchase this again if I ran out.
This is a good mascara but I don't think it gave a false lash effect at all.
My lashes are short but think and after applying two coats it didn't do much.
The only pro I can think of for this mascara is that it's waterproof, it does not budge.
- Smudge proof even when it's raining cats and dogs
- Would probably stay on even when swimming (didn't try it though)
- Didn't cause any allergy or itchiness
- It's supposed to give a 'false lash effect' but looks natural on me. Only enhances my lashes very slightly (my lashes are naturally dark and long but of course I like to enhance them with mascara)
- The wand is too big and too fiddly for me
- Looks quite dry and stiff when on, maybe because it's waterproof
- It's a nightmare to take off...
I would only recommend this to people who like big wands, are looking for a natural look and don't mind using a really good waterproof make up remover.
This is honestly the best waterproof mascara I have ever had. I have tried sooo many different mascaras; from 5-euro-ones to 35-euro-ones, but this is definitely the best one - for me. I always curl my lashes first and then I apply the mascara. It holds the curl in my naturally straight lashes (Asian hair), I have cried my eyes out during a funeral and I swam with it - so it is waterproof for sure haha. It does not really smudge - any mascara that I have tried smudges a liiitle bit, depending on the weather and what I have on for makeup. I have only used it for my upper lashes though, but for a couple of years already. I recommend it to anyone with a similar skin-type and with Asian eyelashes. And ooh, the brush; I love this type of brush - 'plasticky'; it works better for my lashes.
Note: the review from Nien2910 is mine also but it was an old profile which MakeUpAlley would remove.. Which obviously isn't removed yet.

This is the worst mascara I've EVER used.
Why it is sold as a waterproof mascara it is beyond me - after 30 minutes of wear in a slightly humid weather (it was not even wet!) I had racoon, black smudges under my eyes.
My lashes were looking thin, straight (although they were given a good curl with my Shu Uemura curlers) with no added length or volume, just a bit of colour to darken them and this was after 3rd layer of product. Well, I know that my lashes are not my strong point, but I really do not need to spend £12 to learn about that.
Overpriced and overhyped. Will not buy it again and I am mad that I've bought this one despite Lisa Eldridge being one of the satisfied users. Back to Clinique mascaras it is.
I'm on my second tube of this mascara, with the first tube lasting about 6 months, with no sign of drying or clumping (yeah!). I use one coat of this after my Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base to give a defined, natural look that holds curl all day and doesn't smudge (which is a miracle considering my oily lids and stick straight lashes). If I'm going out at night or really want my eyes to pop I will use two or three coats to give my usually unassuming lashes a super, noticeable boost! However, this also makes the mascara harder to remove, even using my oil based Shiseido Eyemakeup Remover. I'm not particularly upset by this though, considering the awesome job it does. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it doesn't coat my short and sparse lower lashes very well.
I got this mascara at my local Farmers for something around 30 dollars since cosmetics are incredibly expensive in New Zealand. I use this mascara when I go to school because it is waterproof and I don't want my mascara smudging and smearing and doing all that funky stuff.
The first time I used this product, I didn't really like it. Because I'm still quite young and wear this to school, I prefer a more natural finish to my makeup. However, this mascara kind of clumped my lashes together and made it chunky. Did not love that.
I experimented a few times after that and was not entirely pleased with the result. However, I've recently revisited this mascara and I must say it is not bad.
This mascara is a wet type mascara, but has become tackier since I've last used it, making it much easier to apply. It no longer clumps my lashes together and actually fans them out quite nicely. This is more of a volumising mascara than a lengthening one. It makes you look like you have a lot of lashes. It also holds a curl very well.
I would not repurchase this product however. I have a lot of lashes naturally so I'm really more for lengthening mascaras than volumising ones. And I just really enjoy trying new products. That's why I won't repurchase. I do recommend this product for anyone who's looking for voluminous eyelashes though.
One last thing I need to add. This smudges on the under eye area. Almost every single mascara I've tried smudges on me. I don't know if it's just my problem or what... just thought I'd give you guys a warning.
- Holds curls
- Adds volume
- Looks natural after drying out a bit
- Doesn't smell too bad
- Doesn't make lashes crunchy
- Cute packaging
- Needs to dry out a bit first for easy application
- Does not add a lot of length
- Smudges under the eyes
- Brush is a bit too big
- Crazy expensive in Australia and New Zealand (if you live in the states, I recommend getting Lash Blast from Covergirl. It's the exact same thing.)
This is my everyday mascara. I watch Lisa Eldridge's YouTube videos and she recommended this one; I have not been disappointed! The wand is rubber so it doesn't clump my lashes, just defines and lengthens. What I like most about this is that it does not budge! I use MAC Cleanse Off oil to take off my make up, and just as well, because I'd imagine you'd need quite a few make up wipes to completely remove this mascara. I like knowing that if I accidentally rub my eyes at work or uni my mascara won't be all over my face! The colour of the mascara is your average black, so no surprises there. I like the packaging because it's chunky.. makes me feel like I'm getting a lot of product. I've had my mascara all this year and it hasn't dried out, it still performs just as well as the day I bought it. I recommend this mascara to those who work long shifts especially where your make up could be ruined by liquids e.g. in a bar or hospital, because it won't let you down. Hth.
Holds curls very well! It is a very wet mascara which enables you to keep on applying til desired length or volume but also makes it very easy to smudge when still wet. It very long lasting and I 100% waterproof! I spent a day swimming in the beach and it lasted!
