i find with a lot of essie polishes, they dry darker in colour than the bottle. the colour in the bottle is what attracted me to purchase, but once applied it goes darker and is very bold, almost neon looking. i regret the purchase as i bought it right before the navigate her collection came out with a peach colour that i was looking for.

I just had a manicure at a nail salon using this color and I don't know if I'm disappointed in the product or the manicure. I thought the woman had done a not so great job, but most of the reviews here seem to point to the polish itself being a bit of a problem. It definitely went on sort of gloopy-like with plenty of streaks and sort of raggedy cuticles. I would've hoped that a "professional" would have been able to handle the problems, but maybe the polish is inherently difficult? It also feels heavy and uncomfortable on, something that's never happened before! I feel like screaming, but having paid for a manicure I feel I *must* live with it at least a few days. As for color, I simply don't see ANY orange here at all, maybe in tomorrow's daylight, I will. I see a very white-pink, well, screeching neon pink, a little too matte. I don't mind the color, but I think it would look better on a young kid, or if I looked more punky.I thought it looked like Essie's Lucious Lips in the bottle, but not at all on.

LOVE. THIS. COLOR!
I just got my fingers & toes done with this color yesterday and i looove it. I wanted to start using colors that would help make my tan pop other than neon colors (such as my usual summer hot pink) Well, this certainly did the trick! It's a pastel peachy-pink color, more on the pink side, but veryyy bright. It instantly made my hands & feet look so nice & tan! i love, love this color, i can't stop staring at it! i know that i'll definitely be using this again & again throughout spring & summer.
The only downside is that the application is pretty streaky, it took me 3 coats to reach a nice, even, opaque color. continued >>

Essie Van D'Go is one of their most prettiest colors. It has a high opacity and gets completely opaque after two coats. But its the worst Essie formula I ever got, its very streaky and the tiny brush doesnt make it better.
The color is more bright than creme, not sheer at all.
Formula: 3/5 not so good, but manageable
Opacity: Full coverage after two coats, one coat would be too streaky
Last very long with Essie Good To Go Topcoat (at least a week)
Drying time: Medium, about 10 minutes to dry completely.

Im in LOVE. I found that perfect pastel pink with a hint of peach tone to it. There is an art to applying most Essie polishes, and i finally have it down. I get a streak free, perfect application on the 2nd coat. You have to go big or go home and lust lay it on thick. The second you start brush strokes with no polish on it, that is when it streaks. Thank you ESSIE!!!!

I admit, Essie nail polish can be difficult to use. But, after I got used to the brush and learned to always apply 3 coats, I fell in love with this brand. Van D'go is definitely my favorite Essie polish I own. It is bold without being neon, and always lifts my mood whenever I look at it. Even after 3 coats, it dried pretty quickly with a smooth and shiny finish. The color is a gorgeous peach cream, more on the pink side than orange. It's a perfect soft and classy color for spring.
Essie requires patience and practice, but their colors are worth it.

This looks nice in the bottle, a pinky-peach. But when applied, the colour is a very bold creme and doesn't really resemble the colour in the bottle. It's a little too pinky for my liking and it's a little too bold. I'm not one to wear neon orange-esque colours, but this is definitely quite a loud pink. It only leans slightly towards the peachy side. It's a good colour, but just not for me.
It does streak a little bit, but it can be fixed with a second or third coat.
I love the name though, it's a shame it's not what it seems to be in the bottle.

Essie is currently quite new in Australia and only sold in high-end stores so, I purchased mine offline for a much better price. I also didn't get the chance to personally swatch the colour so I was relying greatly on reviews and because of this I wanted to clear a few things up that I'd read about Van D'Go which frankly scared the **** out of me. ...The colour does not go orange with or without Seche Vite top coat! At no point has my nail polish turned orange. The colour is however, hard to describe... I wouldn't say it's a true baby pink because it's deeper than baby pink and it's much lighter than salmon or coral so I guess it's a creamy, deep baby pink... but very pretty.
I completely agree with the lady below me that it is a streaky polish and the colour and creamy texture just didn't look right on my fingers however, on my toes - wow. I also noticed when using my Seche Vite top coat that the streakiness disappeared but nevertheless it's a polish that requires patience.
It's perfect for the warmer months as I also agree with it making my fair-med skin tone look a little more tanned.
Probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again but it is a fun one to have for the warmer seasons

I really like this color, quite a lot actually. My only problem is that despite applying 3 coats the color just doesn't go on uniformly on the nails. It tends to leave gaps in some areas. Also, the color is too pasty for fingers, but it looks awesome on the feet and makes them look tan. I would totally use it on my feet but probably not on my nails. Good for buying once but not a color to keep buying.

Booo. This polish was thick, goopy, and streaky. I've been polishing my own nails for 25 years now and this is one of the worst that I've encountered. It says a lot when I have an easier time applying Revlon Top Speed than this. Sad... I love Essie colors but the past 3 bottles I've purchased from them have ALL been thick, goopy, and streaky. Considering these are costing me $8 per bottle I expected something better. I don't think I'll be purchasing Essie brand for a while.
BTW, I bought 3 Essie bottles on one Ulta visit (all three will be returned) so I'm going to copy/past this review because everything I've just typed down is my exact same experience with the other two.

I bought this based on the pictures thinking of a peach pastel color with a hint of pink. When I saw the bottle at the store, I thought it was more pink than peach but decided to buy it anyway (mybe on the nails it's a different color we never know). Well, I find it a lot darker than expected and actually more of a bubble gum pink, it's a very loud color and I can't see a hint of peach either in the bottle or on my nails. It looks beautiful and does make me look tanner but that's really not was I was looking for! Maybe I just have a weird bottle? anyway, I still give it a 3 since the color is ok, application was really easy no streaks at all and it looks like good quality nail polish.

I had been searching for the perfect peachy-pink color for this summer, and I found it!!! I found it in the two dollar clearance bin at my local trade secret. If it were full price I probably would have skipped it honestly, but I'm soooo glad I didn't! In some light it looks really pinky, but in natural outdoor light its a peach with a tinge of pink. Very soft and pretty. I've been wearing it on my toes for 5 days with no chips. Application was not as nice as I was hoping. 3 coats to get even opaque color. If you have the patience for this color you will be so happy you bought it. If you want a color you can throw on and go, skip it. I will repurchase because I haven't found another color similar enough and I'll deal with application to get a color I want. It dries a little matte, so a good glossy topcoat is a must! Basically, if I can find this same shade somewhere else I'll probably skip buying van d'go again, but until then its worth it.

This is such a cute color! Mine is actually more of a salmon color, it has alot of orange in it. It looks kind of weird under some lighting, but soo pretty with tan skin! Fun summer color :)

Love this color! It's so soft and delicate...a milky peachy pink color that works well on my fair neutral toned skin tone. I put it on for a pedicure color but I think it would be beautiful as a manicure color! I think it would be even better with tanned skin!

Essie nail polishes are my favorite! Van D'Go was one of the first nail polishes I bought last year when I started getting into painting my nails. My absolute favorite thing about this polish is the color! It's a gorgeous shade of creamy pinky peach, very feminine and classy. The only downside to this color is the formula. I find it much more streaky than other Essie shades I own (which is quite a lot). Aside from that, I find that the polish wears just as well as other Essie shades. Overall, I have no complaints! I apply an extra coat to remedy the streaking situation, and I'm good to go. Love, love this color!

I love this colour, but I find the application quite tricky. I needed 3 reasonably thick coats to get even coverage, and whilst it didn't turn out streaky or lumpy, it was just a little unsatisfying/ hard work to put on.
Lasts well (I'm on day 5 with no chips), but I wouldn't repurchase.

TERRRRRIBLE. So overhyped. Looks like a gorgeous color in the bottle but against my skintone its so stark and neon & not in a good way. It's not as pink as it looks in the bottle on my nails. It's a weird peachy-neon-orange that reminds me of this ugly tacky color my aunt bought me from claire's once that I used to always paint on my barbies.
Worst of all, its a freakin b*tch to apply. Pardon my language. I've never been so disappointed in an Essie nailpolish before! It's so goopy, thick, and streaky. It's impossible to have any control with this consistency so it ends up getting all over my cuticles. I regret buying this 100% and had I known Ricky's didn't accept nailpolish returns, I would have never purchased it! continued >>

The consistency is really, really awful. Application with Essie is really a crap shoot. Some of their polishes are gorgeously smooth and apply evenly and opaquely with minimal effort. Some of their polishes are a complete pain in the ass. Van d'Go is firmly in the latter group. It was streaky. It was uneven. It was goopy and too thick. But it is manageable with lots of practice and patience. Shame on me, I kind of expected this consistency, usually the lighter creamy colors are a mess while the darker colors are nicer, but I bought it anyway. I thought the color would make up for it, but it really didn't. It's a creamy pink with a little bit of peachyness which would be gorgeous on lighter skin. But the color packs more kick than I expected and that combined with the creaminess, and my medium/tan skin looked cheap and tacky.
Recap: The consistency and color do NOT work for me. Given the right skin tone and a gentle and endlessly forgiving disposition, it's possible that someone out there would like this. But frankly, I just can't be bothered.

i bought this polish cause the color looked gorgeous in the bottle. i applied it the day befor yesterday in the evening. it was pretty hard to get the polish on my nails without looking completly streaky... and today (second day) it already started to peel. the color looks realy nice (if you'll get it on your nails without looking like a chipmunk) but it last only one day (i've got a office job so it is not the hard work) until it peel. essie polishes are kind of pricy (arround 12euros) and i expect more from this price category.
