ABOUT ME: Light, yellow/olive-toned skin, normal-combination skin, sensitive, prone to hormonal acne and seborrheic dermatitis, surface flakiness due to retinoids.
TEXTURE: Thick and creamy but it doesn't have a lot of slip and requires a lot of rubbing to get it to sink in. Takes about 15-20 minutes to absorb fully.
SCENT: Typical sunscreen scent. Neutral and unproblematic.
FINISH & WEAR: Surprisingly good for a high-protection Tinosorb sunscreen. It leaves a slightly shiny finish that needs some powder, but it's not as greasy as La Roche Posay's sunscreen, though it's not as matte as Shiseido or Sofina. It is a little moisturizing too, which is nice because I need it, though people with oilier skin might get shine breakthrough later in the day. Leaves my skin feeling soft and comfortable. No breakouts or clogged pores from this, though I make sure to remove with an oil cleanser, followed up by a gentle foaming cleanser. It leaves a very slight white cast, which looks fine on me but may be problematic for people with deeper complexions.
PROTECTION: Excellent, SPF 50+ with a PPD of 35.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY: Rather pricey because I have to buy it from people who import it from Europe. It really ticks me off that there isn't widespread distribution of the very best sunscreens in North America. I'll repurchase, but will probably do so in bundles in the future to make the most of shipping fees. continued >>
