It took me a few tries to get the best from this product, but I am very glad I persevered. My hair is a single process blonde and it is recovering from extension damage. After using the Elasticizer, my hair is soft and shiny with lots of body.
I would say less is more with this product, use too much and you will find it difficult to shampoo out, also do remember this is a pre shampoo treatment. My method is to use three or four pumps to lengths and ends before bed, sleep with it on and then add a little more prior to shampooing in the shower. The elasticizer dries like a wax so it won't make too much of a mess on your pillow used in this way. I use as a deep treatment once a week or whenever my hair is in need.

I've had a jar of this sitting in my bathroom forever. The first time I used it, I slathered it on thickly and put on the plastic cap, leaving it in for about 45 minutes, and when I tried to rinse the stuff out it left gunk in my hair, ultimately adding no softness or shine whatsoever. I refused to try it again until two days ago. I used it like you would use any regular conditioner. I worked it through my hair and rinsed it out within a minute or so. My fried, bleached hair is SO incredibly soft and feels amazing. After years of getting heavy blonde highlights my hair is so porous that it will not dry normally unless I blow dry it; yesterday it dried much quicker, naturally, and it feels so nice! I can't wait to see if my hair will improve even more. Definitely try this if you have damaged hair from extensive bleaching.

I sort of expected to be disappointed with this, as I was with the much raved about Its A 10 Hair Masque. However I was pleasantly surprised & can say with confidence that although Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme is expensive......it is WORTH IT. My fried, damaged blonde hair feels so soft after using this. I wear it on my hair overnight once a week & can tell a difference.

If you're having trouble deciding between this or the original elasticizer........go with the extreme version if you have really damaged hair. I also bought the regular elasticizer & it was mediocre.
I'll repurchase eventually. :) continued >>

I didn't like this at first. After showering, my hair would feel like it had a wax coating- unless I washed twice with a sulfate-laden shampoo which defeated the purpose and left me back at square one!

I pulled it back out recently and instead of using a handful and leaving it on for an hour or more, I tried just one pump on damp lengths for about 20 minutes. This worked so much better. I CO-washed as usual, concentrating more on the lengths than I normally would to get it all out. I ended up with tame, well-moisturized hair!

I don't like the pump bottle though- the product is so thick that it is difficult to get a normal pump's worth out. It's much easier to just remove the lid and scoop some out. But just remember, less is more! I rarely find a moisturizing product that is "too much" for my hair but I have to take it easy with this one.

Elasticizer is fragrance-free, a positive since fragrance can often make or break a product for me.

This review is for the original Elastisizer. I have tried low end and high end treatments for my highlighted hair and most of them leave it weighed down or plastic feeling like it's not clean. This one is the best so far I have tried it a few times now and I am happy with the results.

Im half and half on this product,i have used it 3 times now and the first two times took 3 washes to get it fully out,and i didnt really apply alot of product BUT when i finally did get it all out of my hair,my hair was in such good condition,i was amazed. I'm actually sat with it on and a shower cap right now, seeing how it goes,4 th time lucky? i dont know why its so hard to get out of my hair,my hair isnt thick but it is long and this has quite a thick texture. My hair is severely damaged from bleach and dying so i deffo need the extreme version for my hair. I think i would buy again because

- it moisturises like crazy
- makes my hair look AND feel stronger
- Theres no horrible smell
- easy to apply
- results from first use
- Makes my very very damaged, broken hair look HEALTHY,people even asked what i had done to my hair, one girl asked if i had hair extensions put in because my hair always looks so rough and it didnt because of this!

The reasons that almost put me off

- Takes forever to wash out of my hair,if i dont get it out it akes my hair greasy and stiff
- The pump it comes with is useless, had to put my hands in it,not very nice!
- Ive only used it 4 times and im half way through,i have the 500ml tub aswell!! my hair is just below shoulder length btw

EDIT!!!!!!!!!: still no luck, three washes later and i can still feel it in my damn hair, this is ridiculous!

I've been reading about this for a long time, and wanted to try it, but couldn't find it anywhere. Then I saw it at Holt's, both versions, and decided to buy the Extreme. It is pricy, yes. But IT WORKS!!! My hair is in decent state, but my ends are a bit fried and breaking because of the weekly flat ironing.
I have used this 4-5 times already, and I am happy. The cream has a whipped texture and is odorless. I dampen my hair, then apply a generous amount of this, making sure I'm covering most of my hair, except for the roots. I leave it on at least 30 min, then shampoo and condition, etc, and my hair comes out very soft and healthier than it had been. The more I use it, the more results I see.
I will probably try the regular version as well, but I can honestly say that this is one of those products that truly work, as opposed to just claiming they do.

this is amazing and is ideal for thick, dry hair. I also use just a little as a leave in conditioner.

First i bought the original elasticizer, then i bought the extreme version and then i bought the original again and kind of wished i hadnt. The original is still a fabulous treatment but the extreme is for hardcore moisturising, which i think i might need again. Go for the extreme version if you have thick, curly, course or REALLY damaged hair. I have bleached fine hair but lots of it so i have to use the extreme sparingly just on the ends because its a very heavy treatment (I think thats why i bought the original again because i can use this to cover more hair further up towards the roots.) I will always use one of the two elasticizers because they are fabulous products and unlike most, they dont just offer cosmetic results, the more you use this, the healthier your hair will become!

UPDATE:
Using this becoming a chore now because of how careful I have to be about keeping this away from my roots and some of the length, it weighs down my hair so much! Ill go back to the original version but still think this would be amazing for thick hair.

So this review is for Elasticizer Extreme from Philip Kinglsey. I havent tried the original first so im not sure how they compare. This one is also a pre shampoo treatment meant for extremely dry/damaged hair. It is unscented and comes in a tub. I paid $35 with shipping from feelunique.com for 150ml tub. I usually leave this on for a couple hours, as long as possible like on sunday when im just hanging around. So far i've been using it weekly and this is truly a miracle product. It just makes my hair so healthy, and it seems stronger. Its so weird, I've never had anything like this. I will def. always have this on hand and highly recommend it. The tub will last a while so its not too expensive imo. I love it, go get it!!!
EDIT: I tried the original and its way more moisturizing than the extreme. Extreme is still good, but original is better so I probably wont buy this again
