I have used dozens of mascaras, from drug store brands to department stores... In general;

I bought this for $6 as it was on sale and I was running out of my beloved maybelline one by one mascara. The formula looked thicker then my one by ine so I was scared it was going to clump, but I got home and tried it and fell in love. It's my new fav. It make my lashes SO long! It gives them volume and a slight curl. I absolutely love the packaging, it looks to expensive and sleek. I also love how it's like the heel of a stiletto. It's does clump a bit after a few coats but it's not terribly bad and is easy fixed by breaking them up with your fingers.

I've had this for three months now, and overall I feel a bit meh about this mascara.

Pros:
Lengthening
Adds a slight curl due to brush
Wet formula allows me to build more coats
Can reach outer and inner corners easily
Very cute packaging!

Cons:
Can get very spidery and clumpy
You cannot layer coats once dry otherwise your lashes will stick together!
Wet formula takes ages to dry so its a hassle in the mornings
Not very versatile - you cant add more coats on for night time
Brush is basically a gimick
Not very consistent - sometimes this fans my lashes out beautifully, other times it clumps them
Does not taper my lashes so that its thick at the base and slim at the tips
Flakes and smudges on me (esp on lower lashes)

I absolutely love this mascara! It makes my lashes really long and i've gotten compliments about it ;) the mascara is thinly based so it doesn't clump and sometimes what i like to do is swipe it on my very outer lashes to give that cat eye look because the wand is quite thin, the wand has curves in it as well so u can choose to have volume or length, this mascara leaves a very clean look if you apply properly and it doesn't flake or smudge.

This product works the best when you just go from the bottom of your lashes to the top and pull up, without 'wriggling'. If you wriggle your wand from side to side, the product will make your lashes a bit clumpy. This product is more of a lengthening mascara and therefore should be used as how I mentioned before. This is an 'everyday' mascara but if you wanted something a bit more special most of the other Maybelline mascaras are great.

i HATE clumpy lashes, i think they are the ugliest thing ever so i like this because it doesn't clump my already very thick lashes but separates and elongates nicely which is what i wanted it to do. there was a even a guide up in the shops saying that was the strength of this mascara, rather than making them look thicker, which is why i bought it. BUT i am taking a lippie off regardless because it does claim to volumise, and i agree that it doesn't. another lippie off because it's not anything outstanding, and i think i'm a bit too nice in my reviews!

then again my mascara, though with the same name and in a red container, has a straight brush, unlike the picture here and i've recently bought another stiletto mascara in a black container from ebay (makeup is VERY cheap in america compared to australia!) and it smells very different so maybe they are made differently? i really don't know. (i haven't used that one yet but i'll make a seperate review when i do.)

$20 is about as cheap as it gets for mascara here so i'm marking that as good even though the one i bought on ebay was half the price.

edit: the black one was horrible and clumpy.

I have tried a lot of drugstore mascaras and this is one of my faveorites. I can't say that it doesn't clump, it does, but most mascaras do. Clumping is minimal. But it lengthens and thickens, wonderfully for a drugstore product! I will definiately be repurchasing(:

I used to use Plush Lash by Mac, but ran out of mascara and didn't have time to go to the mall so I grabbed Maybelline Lash Stiletto from the drug store. I fell in love with it and am so excited to have a great mascara for a way better price!!

My lashes look long and full, it's not clumpy, and you can really build on it. It also doesn't flake off or irritate my sometimes sensitive eyes.

Tips:
- Curl your lashes, once at the base then once more toward the middle/ends

- do one quick coat with an older mascara that's a little more dried up. Sounds weird but it works for some reason

- put on a second coat of your newer awesome Lash Stiletto, and work it in a little bit by wiggling it at the base of your lashes

- do a third coat right away, DON'T let it dry between coats!! By the time you've done eye # 2, eye #1 is ready for it's next coat.

- Keep doing this until you have the thickness and length you want. I usually do a couple of coats on all of my lashes, then focus more on my outer lashes for the last coat or two.

this mascara is pretty good. i have medium length lashes and this really extends them, but doesnt really build volume :/ the wand has closly spaced bristles so it gives that one by one effect to your lashes and doesnt clump at all :). said to be waterproof but not really sure as it does smudge just a little after a long days wear. overall i quite like this mascara since it gives nice clean lashes that are suitable for school and everyday. price was pretty cheap about $8 nz dollars (yes,that is considered cheap in new zealand) but probably wont repurchase since i laways switch mascaras to find the perfect one :)

i feel like this mascara did NOT build volume at all, it just made my lashes straight long and look like spider legs honestly!
