Did not like this foundation. I had high hopes but it just didnt work for me. I tried this in 3B and 4. 3B was TOO yellow even for my yellow undertoned skin. 4 was a better match but slighty too light. I used with a primer , without, and also set it with a powder. And found that either way I was just extremely oily within a few hours. The consistency is very watery and the coverage almost sheer.

I am mac NC 35-37 and i use the ST-05. I am so HAPPY to say that it matches my skin very well.
At first, i bought the 2 samples, ST05 and ST05B. I had yellow undertones on my skin as i am asian, so the ST05 worked for me.
i won't say it had excellent coverage, as it is quite sheer, and leaves my skin looking natural. I use a normal foundation brush to apply, and it leaves no streaks or whatever. I didn't even use setting powder or spray. It last quite all day for me. I was surprised, is it the primer or the foundation ? I am not sure.
At the end of the day, i looked at the mirror and it didn't seem like i am wearing any foundation.
My foundation routine : moisturizer, primer, foundation.

I had high hopes for this foundation but Im glad I only got the sample size. I got the ST-01 shade and found it to be thin and milky. Barely any coverage at all. Maybe if you have flawless skin it would be good but I wasn't impressed.

I've been using MUFE HD and although this one isn't as good, (the coverage is very light) it does blend well, and is great for every day. Here is the trick with this foundation (and every foundation, in my opinion) is to apply then blend with a slightly damp complexion sponge. It completely disappears into the skin, leaving a smooth, even complexion. I'm very blotchy so my skin is a good test one. It lasts all day, and in general, much better than the drug store brands, but not quite up to MUFE standards. For evening, or special occasions, I put this on first, and finish with Graftobian and sponge for spot treatments: this gives me completely flawless, perfection. I'll emphasize again...if you are not using a sponge, you may not like this one.

I used this foundation for quite a while. I had some troubles finding my color. 05 is a little too light and 06 is just plain orange on me. So I mixed 2 pumps of 05 and 1 of the darkest shade 15, and it comes out being just the perfect color! I like the coverage of this and how it looks but it just didn't 'WOW' me. It's a good foundation but just like any other I guess..

Terrible, terrible foundation! Disgusting coverage, horrible blending, dries terribly on the skin. I only got a couple sample packets, but I just threw some away because it was disgusting.

I am NC40 in MAC so I purchased this in ST06. Oh God, it made me look so orange! Like Snookis tan from The Jersey Shore. Ugh. I could see it gave good coverage but choosing a color was hard. I tried matching myself against Temptalia's foundation matrix but it did not work. Im going to have to give it away.

I'm really surprised by all the low and negative reviews for this product. I'm one of the ones that fall between shades in MAC. IN BTW NC45 & NC50. I use C7 with deep MSFN to get a skin tone match. Anyway, I ordered the HD foundation because I hac tried every single foundation I could and figured that $16 wouldn't hurt me. So I gave it a chance. I ordered the ST-11 based ion YouTube reviews and it was a perfect match. It is very similar to MUFE HD but much cheaper and has a color match. 175 was too red and 177 was dull and flat, almost grey. I don't have perfect skin, ust a few spots and skin tone is uneven in some areas. This foundation covers well and gives me a nice, smooth, even-toned, finished look. Its not too heavy and is slightly matte. I still use my MAC MSFN as a finishing pwd, but I don't need as much. My only problem is the pump. It gives too much foundation and if you don't completely press all the way down, the pump doesn't work. So I had to pump into a small sample jar and use so I dont waste product. I'm very pleased and will continue to use and re-purchased. I will update later. I have been wearing for two weeks. continued >>

All i can say is this is the worst foundation i ever tried. It sinks into my pores after half hour applying it. When i set it with powder, it turned to be cakey. The coverage also very light and didn't cover my flaw at all. What makes me disappointed is reviews from coastal scent is totally different from MUA. Thanks god i ordered sample first. FYI, i ordered ST-3B and ST-04 for my NC30 skintone. ST-3B is a bit lighter for my skin buy cover my skin better and ST-04 match my skin but the coverage is too light so i mixed both of the color to get more coverage. But half an hour later, it sinks into my pores so badly.
However, i like how it's feel on my skin. very light and velvety to the touch. Not going to purchased again

I think that the coverage on this is really great, and i have a bunch of acne scarring. I think it just depends on your technique? I use the stippling mac 187 method or stippling with a flat top kabuki and it covers very very well with very little product (stippling not stippling and swirling method). I think it looks much more natural when you stipple as well! Im unsure if this breaks me out or not so i took off 1 star...everything kind of breaks me out =P, but not too badly.

Exactly what the previous reviewer said......goes on thick and cakey and accentuates dry patches, pores, imperfections, etc. Does not have a nice finish and I couldnt get this to go on nicely with fingers or the skunk brush. Horrible!!

I am really glad I got samples of this foundation before I purchased. I have to say that it really doesn't impress me at all. The consistency is really thick and almost glue like and it is really hard to blend. I also think the coverage sucks, I think you have to have beyond perfect skin to use this and for me, well thats probably never going to happen. I have oily acne prone skin and because of all the acne stuff I have been doing, I have dry patches as well. I think this stuff accentuates all the uneveness, dry patches, pores, its just not a good foundation. I think if you would use a primer before, maybe it will help it to go on smoother and flawless. I dunno. I still have a ton of samples left, I think I am going to play around with it to see if I completely hate it or not. I will update.

This is the only non-asian foundation in my stash that fits me perfectly colourwise. Ordered the ST-01 though I didnīt expect much and I was pleasantly suprised when it turned out to be perfect match, without the gross yellow/orange tint =) It didnīt break me out and there were no itching or burning sensations BUT it made my cheeks dry and flaky, which happens like almost never because I have very oily skin. But I solved that with better moisturizing. Also I needed a bit help with blotting paper in the afternoon for my t-zone but the foundation didnīt fade away or look cakey and I need to mention that I tested this without a primer, just moisturizer, so the staying power was way better when I used a primer after the testing phase. Just to let you know that even without primer this stays on pretty well. The coverage is about medium and I donīt think it can be built to full coverage without looking like a mask. Make sure you moisturize you skin with a rich cream, especially if you have normal or dry skin. Iīd repurchase this though I donīt use it that much. I fell in love with BB creams but on really bad-skin days, like before I get my period or have lots of stress and break out because of that, I use this foundation when I need more coverage, so you could say itīs an SOS foundation for me =) But if I had the choice between this and the MAC studio fix fluid and if the MAC foundation would be avaiable without that gross yellow tint, Iīd stick with MAC. But as MAC didnīt improve the colour (and the smell) yet, Iīd definitely stay with the Coastal Scents HD foundation. =)

This is my holy grail foundation. I have fallen in love with it.
Its not easy to find a foundation nowadays with all the new types coming out left and right. We all get in a hype of finding a good one that matches us. This one has been the creme de la creme of all the foundations I have attempted to try.
It is lightweight, light to medium coverage. It photos BEAUTIFULLY. For me this foundation has made a lasting impact on me (for being as cheap as it is compared to it's high end counterpart Make Up Forever HD Foundation)
The only downfall to this is the online ordering process. Granted they have it in stock, it still takes almost 10 days to reach you and sometimes shipping cost literally is an arm and a leg, just for a 1oz bottle of this foundation. On top of that, it is kind of hard to match your color. You have to go through some drastic color changes in order to find yourself a shade darker or lighter. Luckily for me, with the yellow undertones that I have, the shades they offer can be easily blended into my skin. Absolutely love it (:

i wanted to like this and the colors are nice but i really disliked the consistency. its very runny and the makeup never soaked into my skin. it just stayed on top like a film and was very streaky. i used a foundation, stippler, and fluffy brush to try to apply this as well as my fingers but it never went on my face well. love their eyeshadows but this was a disaster for me. coastal scents does not test on animals and alot of their other products are great.

I'm so glad Coastal Scents finally thought to sell samples of this stuff! I don't buy any makeup online in a full size that I can't return if it's the wrong color or simply doesn't work...that's just way too big a risk to me. Anyway, this foundation blends well and doesn't sink into my pores, but it's just not enough coverage for me. It goes on light and to get more coverage you have to keep layering it on. I actually own the original MUFE HD foundation, and I can get full coverage with just one pump as opposed to Coastal Scents and even the Smashbox HD foundation. I highly recommend springing for the real deal (MUFE) on the HD foundation trend if you need anything other than light coverage!

I wear this in ST-04 and i am usually wear NC25-NC30 on MAC. I love it that ST-04 does not has orangey tone in it. Blends well with light to medium coverage and looked natural on me. So far no break outs. Good buy.

So I've tried this out for the past 6-8 months, summer and winter, and it is so-so. If you have oily skin and its summer, it will not last more than 6 hours and will need to blot throughout the day. It feels better for my skin in the winter because it feels moisturizing. Stays on longer when set with a powder (loving my Matte Dream powder by Maybelline). Good coverage and buildable without being too cakey, but feels heavy on the skin. Color selection is a little weird. I'm a NC25-30 and I had to mix ST-4 and ST-5 to match the color. ST-5 was way too orange and ST-4 turned out to be really light...even during my winter paleness. No weird odor. Not hating, but not loving it either.

I ordered the full size immediatley after it came out. (in shade 05 i think, Im a NC30-ish) I used this for about a week but It looked too orange and made my dry skin look flakey and my T-zone all oily. I tried using it with my Revlon Colorstay foundation and it reduced the orangey-ness, and used this routine for about a month. (I used one of Coastal Scents powders to set it) Overall, I think it's an okay foundation. but not worth the price. The packaging looks extrememly cheap and I personally don't think its an HD foundation. (my face still looked "white" in flash photography) I will not buy this again and won't reccomend for others.
