I love this mask! I recently started doing the oil cleansing method which has caused me to purge quite a bit, and this mask has been great for clearing out my pores and getting rid of the gunk that's come to the surface! It stinks for a little bit but that happens with citrus. I love that it's not as drying as the mint julep mask so i can use it fairly frequently. I am a fan.

This masque is great at calming down those big pustule pimples on my jawline, and it makes the rest of my face much softer and smoother. It has bentonite and kaolin to work at pimples and vitamin c from grapefruit extract which is great for skin. It stings just a little but after it dries it feels just fine. I use this once a week, maybe twice if things are really bad. A great, nutritious masque for such a low price.

--Queen Helene Avocado and Grapefruit Masque--

----Why I purchased this product:----
I enjoy using a variety of masques in my beauty routine. Queen Helene is a trusted, classic brand that produces quality skincare items like this one. This mud-style masque is medicated with just the right ingredients to invigorate my skin and to keep it in balance.

This company makes masques that peel off, masques made of mud that cleanse and are medicated, and masques that are exfoliating. What I like about the Avocado masque is that it is soothing while being cleansing at the same time. It's not as harsh as the Mint Julep masque, but it is the kind of masque that I use twice a week to keep my skin in balance.

The scent is soothing. It smells neither like grapefruit, nor does it smell green like avocado should. Instead, it has hints of citrus that you can feel more than you can smell, and I think that is due to the fact that this brand uses natural grapefruit oil in this formula. It has a botanical, green and floral scent, so while I am wearing it, I enjoy the fragrance because it is so relaxing.

This masque comes in a handy-dandy tube with a screw-on top. While a flip-top would have been better, it does not really matter to me. What's important is that Queen Helene brand has always been good about making their products really accessible, so it is easy to use and you can get many uses out of a single tube.

The formula, made of white kaolin, is rich and soothing. Like many masques of this nature, it has a sticky texture that makes it easy to apply in broad strokes. I like to cover my face going in one direction, then cover it again going the opposite direction, so I can get full coverage.

With this kind of coverage, I can feel the masque working almost immediately. Grapefruit has anti-bacterial qualities, and anti-oxidants too, so I know Im doing something good for my skin when I use it. Since its a citrus oil, it makes for an excellent way to cut oil and dirt on the face, leaving my skin clean and glowing.

My skin is never dry afterwards. Sometimes, a medicated masque like this one can leave my skin dry in the wintertime, but that's the main benefit of the Avocado ingredient in this formula – it not only provides a pastel green color for this masque but it adds soothing vitamin E and other natural compounds, replenishing what the grapefruit and citrus oils may have stripped away.

Overall this is an excellent masque, from a quality company that produces many products just like this one, that not only make your life more convenient, it also allows you to enjoy your beauty at an affordable price.

This is a fast-drying formula that set in about ten minutes. It was easily removed with warm water and a washcloth. I followed up with some jojoba oil for my skin – it makes the perfect winter weather moisturizer. This masque helps my skin to stay in balance without being dried out during the winter months. In the summer, I like to switch this for the mint julep masque twice a week to stay in balance.

Yes I would purchase this item again... they give you so much of the product for such a low price that my tube has lasted me for over a year, even though i use it weekly, or sometimes twice a month depending on what masks I am using during that time.

As a fan of all Queen Helene products I was surprised when I realized that I had not tried this one so I bought it, it was also on sale for less than $5 and I will agree that it burns like a mother when you put it on but it does leave a lovely feeling of refreshed skin. I usually do masks twice a week, I think I'm going to do this one in the middle of the week and the Mint Julep in the weekends for a nice balance.

I found this on super-sale (practically free.)

Masques are little unnecessary to good beauty routine, especially if you have good AHA or BHA products, but they're nice to have for that little something extra. This mask has kaolin clay in it and fresh green color and scent. It's not totally drying like C. booth masques or the Mint Julep (Only for people with very oily skin.) You can tell the citrus extract is real because it burns when wet, but if you're not bothered by a little stinging, it does a good job sopping up excess oil, shrinking pores and dissolving dead skin. Dries fast and leave skin baby soft.

I like it - it's not an amazing product, (budget masques rarely are) but I would repurchase if it was on super-sale again.

I have very sensitive skin so it DOES burn pretty bad but as it drys it goes away. It makes my face look more awake and energized so I use it at night or if i go somewhere in the morning if I don't want to wear makeup. Since this wasn't really made for dry skin i do have to put a moisturizer on afterwords. Oh and I bought it at sallys for 4.79 :)

I got this product at Sally's a while after my mint julep mask dried out. I'm not exactly sure of the price because I get a slight discount but I'm pretty sure it's around $5.30. It comes in a nice squeezy tube. I feel it is a good amount for the price, especially because you don't need a whole lot to cover your face maybe a bit more than a quarter size and half. It comes out very smooth and feels just the same going on. Since you only need a very thin layer shortly after you put it on your skin it begins to dry. I do think the 10mins they say on the tube is about how long it takes to dry. However I just leave my on for a bit longer just to make sure. It does have a slight burn but it's to be expected if something is cleaning out your pores. So maybe it's not the best for sensitive skin, or very acne prone skin because it will probably irritate it. It is very easy to wash of. And it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I would not recommend it for everyday use if people like to do so. Maybe like every 2 days. Otherwise I think it smells good and works very good.

Sally's was sold out of the Mint Julep Mask so I decided to try this mask. I must say, I am glad I did! I have very oily skin and I find masks to be helpful for controlling oil. I like the Mint Julep version for drying out acne, but my skin has been clear lately so I didn't feel all that drying action was necessary. As other reviewers have said, this absorbs oil without drying out the skin. Exactly what I wanted! I use this twice a week and I don't experience any stinging when I use this mask, so don't worry too much about that. This is a great mask at a great price! I will repurchase and only use the Mint Julep Mask when I really need to clear up acne.

Ahh, Queen helene, maker of the best mask I've ever tried (in my humble opinion). For the past five years, I've evaded many breakouts and have had flawless skin to boot because of it. The last year has taken a toll on my skin. With work, schooling, fitness, and trying to enjoy being a human being, my skin has somewhat lost the glow that my family, friends, and strangers have always complimented. I decided to give this a try given the positive reviews. The first try, my skin was no different; It felt no cleaner, but my skin stung like *%^&. And it had red patches all over. Still, I decided to continue trying it, considering it was the first time. This time I liked the tingling feel, but I had broken out in my right cheek. I wanted no more of it. Maybe for some this is great, but for me it wasn't. I think you could get a nice glow by washing your face in the shower. Then after doing that, allow the water to run for a minute or two, and allow your skin to take in the steam. Instant soft and glowy skin. continued >>
