This is a lovely little product! It really matteifies your manicure without being cloudy or changing the base colour. I was dissapointed at the size of the bottle (only 9.6 mL) however, I doubt I will run out as mattifying is not my favourite type of manicure even though I like it.
Love this product! I didn't think it would make my nails appear so matte. The only downside is the small bottle but it's not too much of an issue.
I ordered some China Glaze polishes from a website for only $3 a bottle. I decided to throw this in my cart because I thought the idea was cool. When I first tried it on my whole nail, I thought it looked a little odd. Maybe it's because of the base color I tested it on (China Glaze's Sea Spray). Then I realized that I'm just not too big of a fan of full matte nails.
BUT. I decided to be a little more creative and used it for the purpose of simple designs. Verdict: Super Cute! Right now I'm wearing China Glaze's Custom Kicks and used the Magic Matte to create a diagonal striped design on each nail. It definitely adds the extra umph and wasn't too difficult or time consuming! It's subtle and unique. Lovin' it!
I think I'll start playing around with other designs like polka dots or something. I'll also try out the matte nail and glossy french tip that I read from the post below!
I love the eggshell finish this gives ANY of your nail polishes. I bought this to recreate the matte nail w/ glossy french tip, and I love the fact that I am not stuck with just one color of matte polish to do this with. The bottle is small, but I would def. repurchase next time I see another one. I am a little confused as to why they didn't just make this a full sized bottle, but whatever.
A little tricky to work with at first. No need to gloop it on, that's where you'll get the drips and uneven finish. A thin layer is all you need, and INSTANT matte. Wish the brush was more flat and stiff to make the thin layer easier to apply, but once you get the hang of it, it's cake.
Would I buy this again? Yes! Yes! Yes! I WISH I bought more than just one when I went to Cosmoprof with my friend and I hope to buy more if they sell anymore. It's like buying new nail polish. I just love the matte effect but not actual matte nail polish. Yes confusing, but I hope you understand it. :) It looks wonderful over Catch Me in Your Net by O.P.I.
I hate the fact that it is such a tiny bottle.
I found this on sale at Sally's for 99 cents. I'd been wanting to try Essie's Matte About You, so I was excited to find this one for so cheap. It has less product than other China Glaze polishes (.325 fl. oz. compared to .5 fl. oz.), but so little is needed to achieve the matte effect. I love how it can transform any polish. It's so neat to watch the shine disappear in seconds. The matte look reminds me of Easter eggs!
Awesome product, definitely the more economical way to do matte nails - it gives any nail polish a great matte finish. Much cheaper than buying multiple bottles of matte nail polish. The bottle is smaller than usual CG ones at 9.6ml, but I imagine you'd struggle to finish it before the matte trend is over. This does tend to highlight any imperfections in a manicure, but that's standard with all matte finish polishes. Definitely one of the best matte top coats out there. Would repurchase.

Ok, I just picked this product up. I got an Orly Matte Finish Polish in a deep purple before Christmas and I LOVED it! I've been trying to find some more polishes like this, but couldn't find any! While I was at Target yesterday, I saw a product by Essie. I did a little research and that product seems good but I was looking for something CHEAP. I went to Sally's by happenstance. I poked around and finally asked the girl if they had anything to give me a matte finish. She pointed this out. IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED!!! BUT I GOT IT FOR $.99!!!!!!!! I got out to the car and brushed it on (gave myself a great manicure in a shiny teal this morning) and immediately was happy!! Like the Orly, as the days go on the matte finish turns to a more satin finish because of the oils in our bodies, BUT this still looks awesome! Can't wait to see how long it lasts. The Orly color chipped after 2 days. I used Sally Hansen XtremeWear for color. We'll see how this goes, and I'll update ASAP!
My sister recommended this to me. I found five clearanced out at Sally's (for .99 cents) and bought them all. If they are clearanced, I hope it wasn't because it is discontinued (I forgot to ask).
This top-coat is fabulous. It works great as a top-coat for an already matte polish and it brings all of my non-matte polishes to a whole new level. Its like I've bought a bunch of new polish.
For example: I have SpaRitual Death by Chocolate which two coats looks like a rich brown with red undertones. When I put on the matte magic it looks like a chocolate bar that's been melted and dried out (lost the shine-of course) but it is very different. I uploaded a couple pictures on my profile one nail with one nail without matte finish and the bottle so you get an idea.
I did read the other reviews and it shouldn't be so thick that you can't apply it, however it is a tiny bit thick and is very cloudy in the bottle. Also, one of my bottles was rather crusty when I went to open it for the first time, so I think you need to be careful and not get one that is too old.
If you can pick up a bottle of this and give it a try, you should, just to see how it changes your already familiar polish into something different.

This was on sale at Sally's i wish i had bought more than one. It makes any nail polish matte. No shimmer at all.. looks like the color has a foggy cover. I love how it looks on my nails and is really easy to apply. Goes on SMOOTH and drys fast. I dont like how small the bottle is, theirs not enough in the bottle to last me for too long. One thing i dont like is how my nails feel with this. They feel kinda rough. I do prefer my Seche Vite finish, because it makes my nails super strong and slick.
